Questions about using profiles for X56, and checking if a problem I'm having is a universal issue, or if it can be corrected. 1. If I want to use a profile, I know how to program it in the X56 software, but do I need to clear the joystick inputs within DCS? 2. Having a slight issue with the joystick it tends to lean to the right as it has a little bit of play while in the centre position. It causes a slow roll. I can mimic the same roll speed to the left, but need to push it a bit. I'm using the spring that is first placed on the base and the joystick is tightened as much as I can hand tighten it. Would a dead zone in the centre of the stick cure this? Thanks!

Has anyone bought an X56 stick and throttle within the last few years? Have they improved the quality? I hear people saying the wires get cut inside and the build quality is not impressive. I still have time to cancel the order I believe. Definitely should have read reviews before making the jump, but I have the X52 (not pro) and its lasted a long time. Even though I'm not the most demanding PC pilot. Are there any other good quality joystick/throttle combos you would suggest?

Doesn't A-10C feel more flight capable in real life?
SC86 replied to Worrazen's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I feel the same as you, I can't actually add anything here, but it feels like the A-10 both A and C in DCS should be a bit more powerful in flight capabilities, and maneuverability. It feels like its difficult to climb even with a clean aircraft, the plane starts to spin out if there are too many G's pulled. I feel like it should be easily capable of 400-550 knots and easily able to climb. -
are you speaking of a specific plane? or just any that you are using?

what you need to do in the f14 is obviously load the pods with the ground crew, then enable the master arm, and on the flight stick you can see a small switch/weapon selector, that switch goes up and down but also move in and out/be pushed. So you have to select SW for the first pod and press the trigger, then press the SW switch again and you see the button be pushed into the flight stick, then press the trigger again.

it fixed itself after an update, thanks anyways everyone

I have unzipped it, but can't do anything with it? Do I need another program to open it?

I cannot get the EW to say GO on the BIT Test page of the F18. I've tried to start it in the air, on the ground, doesn't change the result. One time it said GO, but I don't know what I did. How do I get the EW to say GO every time I fly, I know how to turn it on with the square button, and perform the BIT test.

I have been playing in this server Aerobatics Online for months if not years, including this morning. All of a sudden my connection is refused? My Ping was 101 and refused, have I been blocked or banned or something?

I would like to see more WWII aircraft like the P-38 Lightning or the Black Widow. Even a bomber would be cool, I think there is enough space in a DCS map to get that kind of plane in.

I have seen that video many times, I think it is ambitious to build that style of 5th gen aircraft as a restart for Canada's military aviation. I'm not sure we need stealth like is seen on many of the modern aircraft. I think due to the roles we often play, guessing that we aren't usually the first air force in the combat zone. maybe the F-117, F-22, F35, B2, would be in there first. We may be able to get away with a 4th gen style body with better maneuverability and higher rated engines. but maybe I'm wrong. I think the Russians have stopped building their Su-57, though other countries are now coming out with stealthy aircraft. who knows, not I.

I agree with the first part of the answer, that it would have been late, crappy missiles and radar (though if they kept going with development they could have adopted radar and better missiles. I wish I knew more about it's maneuverability, though being a 1950 Delta-ish shape I think it would have been fairly bad, also due to interceptor role. But building an F-5 style plane I think would have been too small, not incapable, but it wouldn't have the reach cross country or out to sea, especially with some of the planes the Russians were building. Something a bit bigger and with more range I think would have been better. Even if it was just a larger F-5 with more capable engines and fuel and weight capacity.

True, good to know that someone outside of Canada knows of it.

Thanks for the replies everybody!

Some aircraft like the F-18 and F-14 in particular can have their pylons removed for a clean wing and centreline. It's not a big deal, but those pylons must weigh enough to have a few pounds drop and reduce gas usage when they are removed. Or maybe not, not, if anybody has info on that it would be great.

Are there any new updates for the F16 that is to be released?
-
It does have a firewall, but I've been able to play for 15 minutes sometimes, but usually a lot less. I'll try turning it off and see what happens. Edit: I did try disabling the Firewall, but nothing changed

I just got a new gaming pc Acer Predator something or other and the specs are decent enough to run DCS and all my purchased modules. When I enter multiplayer my ping is usually between 50 and 200, and when I pressed the ' key besides the communications key (\) my ping was 109. I still got connection timeout at 109. what could possibly getting me connection timeout in every server? I won't join a server when my ping is over 300
-
I have seen ping for the stable version of DCS be much lower than that in DCS Beta version. I don't believe it's all the F14's fault. There have been three updates since the update that made me unable to connect to the Beta Servers and still no luck getting on. My ping is usually around 100-200 maybe a little more or less either way, but haven't had as much trouble connecting as I have now. something has to be done, Can we please get support for this? We understand that it is a huge and massively complex simulation game, but I think that aircraft improvements and developments can be put on hold in order to improve the base game.
-
I had that happen to me, actually it didn't even get to the crash. but I am having massive multiplayer issues, in both the "stable" Version, and the beta. I am scared that when the next update for the stable version comes along I wont be able to go pn multiplayer in that version either.

Still no luck in connecting to servers in multiplayer. always had trouble with the first connection, but the second connection usually worked. Now it won't go past the loading screen, even when the loading is complete. Also, the game doesn't go back to the home screen, rather it stays on the loading screen with the connection timeout box, sometimes the title screen music plays, but it doesn't go back to the home screen. Control Alt Delete are the only way to get out of the game at that point. I understand that updates can screw up, but there has to be some way to counter this and let people play with what they have paid for. I know DCS is free at first, but when you get in deep, it becomes a product that should be more consistent.

"Connection timed out" problem after today's (13.03.19) update
SC86 replied to Wookie's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
Same Problem, even with the Monday Update Im having the exact same problem. There has been an update today (Monday March 18, 2019) which also did not fix the issue. It is supposed to increase the connection Timeout to 10 minutes, but I don't think it actually goes 10 minutes, also my Ping when I pressed join was 118. -
[RESOLVED] F-14 Crashes/Freezes Every time
SC86 replied to groundedforlife's topic in Bugs and Problems
In single player mine loads, takes a long time though. I can't even connect to multiplayer servers anymore, was pretty good before though. I have a shitty computer for gaming though so I should expect trouble I guess. DCS does this to me once in a while and I can't connect.
