[RESOLVED]blue screen memory management in multiplayer
SC86 replied to JOSGEM72's topic in Game Crash
I tried that yesterday, I left the PC as it took a long time. It says that it is supposed to restart after completion, but when I came back the PC was shutdown, not by my or anybody else's doing. I I remember it saying that there were some errors or something within the first half of the scan, but wouldn't actually give me the info. Do you know how I can find it? -
[RESOLVED]blue screen memory management in multiplayer
SC86 replied to JOSGEM72's topic in Game Crash
I am having the exact same problem in BETA version, I just had this happen to me again and was going to make a post about this. I have been having a lot of stuttering problems recently, since the last update or maybe 1 or 2 updates before that. The last bunch of updates, the updater has been finding all sorts of files and the program asks if I want to delete them, I usually say yes. I tried repairing the Beta version, and it found extra, old files, and asked to delete or keep them, I pressed delete. It told me that the repair was successful, but I had the same restarting error today as I said. If the PC does give me a blue screen BSOD error, the error is with the memory_management error. I hope they fix this because I have 64 GBs of RAM and its supposedly fast ram, so it shouldn't be happening. -
The F16 and F18 launch weapons on mode switches. I know which binds I use for my joystick and throttle and I am not double binding. In the F16 I am talking about the circular A-A and A-G buttons on the UFC firing/dropping weapons when clicked with the mouse. In the F18 It's usually with air to ground weapons, switching to A/G will release HARMS, and bombs. If anybody has a correction for this please let me know as I'm a hazard to other players in multiplayer, and then its also a waste of time playing DCS. Thanks for any help!

Pilot talks about the cockpit, gives information of some functionality.

I think this should be applied to all servers, we don't need those files, unless we specifically want to record it.

I'm sorry, I know I have seen this topic before, but cannot easily find it. I am not loving the stiffness of the Warthog Joystick, except for it going back to centre. I have seen some threads about getting softer springs from third parties or other sources. I know Thrustmaster doesn't have them, though they would make a killing I think. Can anybody tell me where to might be able to get one? Be best if the company is Canadian as I live here. Thanks!

Jester doesn't know that he has already dropped the external tanks. I always find myself in the middle of a dogifght or even just using medium range missles, Jester loses lock constantly so you have to tell him to reaquire the target, but you have to skip to the secondary screen and go through a longer process to give the command to jester. Maybe this isn't a huge priority, but it needs to be fixed. Besides wouldn't it be easier for the sim to run if it didn't have to keep the tanks in memory or something?

I agree the training missions are great for the harrier, though I am still having some trouble controlling it during its more difficult things like hovering and whatever else.

I've been watching a few videos on how to get SRS, but the link doesn't work, can someone show me how to get it? 2. What kind of microphone or headset will work with SRS?

lol don't worry glad you tried to help -
the seat adjustment switch is on the right side of the cockpit, on the vertical wall, sort of a weird lonely switch that is almost the same colour as the wall, definitely help with landing.

Is DCS worth it with just a normal hotas?
SC86 replied to conura's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have been using a Saitek X52 (not Pro) its been very good, but I never used the software as the software wasn't working too well, ever... now the joystick is having a bit of an issue with the rudder swivel, and at least on the ground the planes are drifting to the right and making me look bad. Really though, I want something new and reliable that will last for a long time. I tried the X56 but the programming wasn't working well and the tracking in the software showed the joystick was moving all over the place when centred and the joystick was sitting still. I'm not looking to invest so much over the years that I play flight sims, but I want something that will be fun and somewhat realistic. plus the more switches and buttons I have assigned on my Hotas, I can assign less essential stuff to the keyboard. Just yesterday I ordered a Thrustmaster Warthog throttle and stick. I hope it is worth the money. I would say that if you have VR and you are committed you should be ok, you can always use some button to assign the pedals too. -
Nose wheel steering getting stuck in place, how to overcome?
SC86 posted a topic in DCS: F-86F Sabre
I can pilot the F86 fine, just sometimes I get my nose wheel stuck in a position in place, usually just off straight. I know that I'm supposed to hold the S\nosewheel steering button until im straight, and I know how to turn. I know that the Emergency fuel switch will lock it in place usually and you're not supposed to test this until lined up on the runway, though the wheel can lock without using this switch. So, why does it cease up, and how can I unlock it? Thanks -
yes, though nothing usually seems to work, don't know if it happens in multiplayer, looks like someone said it doesn't

The F16 is within its first Early access release, there are so many things that need attention, you can't even turn on external lights or jettison stores. Whatever the real specs are, are subject to change within a moth I think

Will this campaign actually help me learn to become better at dogfighting and just overall a better sim pilot? I need to learn the basics of air combat because most of the stuff I grew up with was very simple and I really don't know how to think about it. And I need to learn how to work my aircrafts positive abilities against the enemies weaknesses. Is this a good campaign for learning this stuff, or is there a better campaign? Thanks!
