  1. Regarding your question--we'll definitely be giving it a spin over here. When I'm on my own time, though, I'm a FPS guy through and through. All about headshots. :smilewink:
  2. Hi all, I just spoke with one of our lead developers, and he confirmed to me that TrackIR development will be starting up very soon. 64-bit application interoperability will be the first item on the list. Thanks for your patience. We'll hopefully have something out to you guys to play with pretty soon. For more info/discussion, feel free to chime in on our forums: http://forum.naturalpoint.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=43911#Post43911 -Seth
  3. I can't speak for ED, personally, but I would expect it to be included in a patch in the near future. It will need to be patched or hot-fixed in.
  4. Hi, ummmm, <((((><. :) It's not a bug. We recently created a unique ID for FC2, and sent it to Eagle Dynamics for inclusion in their next build. We've gone ahead and made the ID public, so users will have access to it as soon as ED releases a supporting build. But, until that point, it's not actually "hooked up." Good catch though. I wondered how long before someone would see it. :)
  5. The same settings (a few have been renamed or removed because they were for old generation TrackIRs) are available in the Camera Tab in software version 5.x. The key setting for removing unwanted ambient light (when you seen more than three green dots in your Camera View window) is Light Filther Threshold. Turn it up to filter out more unwanted light--just not too high, or you can filter out light from the TrackClip too. If using the standard TrackClip, you can increase the IR Brightness setting while also increasing the Light Filter Threshold to optimize the camera against unwanted ambient light. If you have a TrackIR 5, it should be pretty difficult to move outside of its field of view, which is pretty large. If this is happening, make sure the camera is mounted and aimed so that it is centered on your TrackClip or TrackClip PRO. To confirm this, go into the Camera View (right click on right side display window, select Camera View) and make sure that that three green dots are centered in the view. If not, adjust your camera position and angle until they are.
  6. Glad you're enjoying your new TrackIR, John! The rest of you as well. :) Feel free to visit our forums if you have any issues, questions, or suggestions down the road. -Seth
  7. You might revisit the newest build of 5.0 software, as it has addressed the jitter on the Z axis. I would argue--and the feedback of the vast majority of our users seems to corroborate--that the new software, with most fixes in place now, is a much improved experience over 4.x. Obviously, all of our users are welcome to use whichever they prefer--it doesn't hurt our feelings--but I'd encourage you not to abandon the new software just yet. It isn't even out of beta. :) And, if properly set up with minimal smoothing, the TrackIR 5 outclasses 4 by a long ways. If you're inclined to use high levels of smoothing, this will be less apparent.
  8. Doesn't sound familiar. Shoot me an email with the details of your project: seth @ naturalpoint . com  It regularly amazes me how so many concerned commentators know more about the apparently spurious internal workings of NaturalPoint, Inc. than I do. And I work there! I will concede that I've taken a few days of vacation during my time at NP, so perhaps that's how I missed the super-secret, evil-marketing-ploys brainstorming sessions. We don't pay anybody to lurk on forums and make positive posts about our products. The accusation is totally unfounded. We make products we believe in. We hope that our users enjoy them. We obviously appreciate positive feedback, but that's it. End of story. Seth Steiling TrackIR Product Manager
  9. I forgot to add: What a great idea, on the part of the thread starter! We love our community for reasons just like this!
  10. I'm glad you were able to receive your TrackIR quickly! We've had some terrible weather here on the West Coast of the US, so shipping has been slow at times. I hope you enjoy your new unit! :) The server went down last night, as we lost power in a huge wind storm. I'm in the office right now, and it appears that everything has been restored, so you should be able to access trackir.com without any problem. Funny story! I hope you really love your new TrackIR 4. Since we recently lowered the MSRP by $50 (down to $129.95), we hope that even more people can access a new TrackIR. Plus, as you alluded to, there are some deals floating around the Internet that can make it even more affordable. ;)
  11. Hi HeavyZephyr, Yes, TrackIR 3 is supported in Black Shark. You will need to have the most current version of the software running (Version 4.1.036). Once installed, you should run a Game Update. After that, you should be able to use your TrackIR in BS. If you have any issues, feel free to contact us on our forums or at support@naturalpoint.com. Regards, Seth Steiling TrackIR Product Manager
  12. I'm not aware of this being a release date for any new hardware. You might double check your sources. ;)
  13. Don't worry Amraam. TrackIR 3 and TrackIR 4 both work with Black Shark, as long as you are running version 4.1.036 of the TrackIR software.
