Gunsight only works on targets closer than 400m
anlq replied to stray cat's topic in DCS: F-86F Sabre
+1. But this cage/uncage is useless IMHO because gunfighting changes every fraction of second, it's really hard to hold pipper on a maneuvering target like a MiG15 for 1 second to calculate distance. This distance calculating should be done automatically. I prefer fixed gunsight with wingspan ruler. Just fly the bird to a certain point and pull trigger. :pilotfly: -
Last night I tried catching low-alt target again. I set a F5 at 1000m-700km/h same direction to my plane (700m-700km/h). I tried several radar mode (Continuous, Weather, Passive ...) with no luck. Target only locked when I switched to fixed-beam. (is fixed beam supposed to use with airbone target ?):noexpression:

Correct, I tried some missions with MiG-29/F5/A-50. I set these at flight level 1500m, my plane is about 500-1000m. I couldn't see them on the radar screen (even at close range under 5km). But when I switched to Lock-Beam the radar then was able to lock target. can someone confirm this is a feature of the Fishbed ?

Confirm, I just found out this bug myself. Check my track. KH66 in the inner pylon, S-24 is at 3-4 pylon. After using KH66 I can't get pipper showing correctly for S-24. http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=105185&stc=1&d=1411921348 Pipper Error.trk

in DCS dot label is not cheat. I myself had to turn on label since DCS Mig21 because I barely see enemy until got my ass kicked (AI can 'see' you even you are at his 6' low, what an advantage). Dot label / smart scaling is a fair option for Human vs AI.

Using fishbed radar is really tricky. I cant even scan and lock target flying under 1500m. dont know if this is true or not. under 1500 the best way to find target is using Mk2 Eyeballs.

You're right. After reviewing the training mission. I found out the "radar" problem is missile selection. R60 is point and shoot, i have to aim the pipper on target, not just locking on. P/s light and lock tone with r60 is a bug.

I have loaded 4 R60 missiles. as you can see in the picture all switches are set. even the target is visually detected, the gap still missing.

Hi Im struggling with learning new (obsolete) radar system of the MiG21. But I find my radar is a little different from the manual. It has no gap in the horizontal line after lock on a target. Anyone has any clue ? Thank you. And this is the manual.

yes I saw an a10c got hit then landed and taxiing without wheels, too.

This happened after I had landed my aircraft and collided with another one was taking off. That dude shared the same problem (you can see on the picture)

Update does increase FPS on my GTX680. i notice better performance about 30-50% on DCS Sabre (70-120 fps ingame). 10-20% better on DCS MiG21bis and Mi8MTV2. I will try other modules later. Update: overrall performance of other modules is about 10-15% better thank to the new Nvidia driver.

Can someone repost the English manual somewhere else, I can't download from the source directly. Thank you !!! <3

Hi, I just came across 2 bugs involving F86F on a mission created by M.E The 1st is Airbrake sound: I flew a 2 ships formation attacking ground target, my plane hit by ground fire (ZSU23) while its airbrake was opened, then I jumped into my wingman cockpit and still hear the open airbrake sound from the one that shot down (whilst my airbrake is still closed). The 2nd is AI F86F acting weird on the ground: I landed the plane, then jumped into another one that was in the air. Few minutes later I found the first one wandering around the airport (Kobuleti maybe), it went straight, ran over mountains, streams, hills or whatever it ran into. I landed the second and the same thing happened. Hope these will be fixed.

Hi F86 simmers out there, I'm getting familiar with this awesome bird. I managed to drop bomb (automatically and manually). But one thing I don't understand about firing rocket and need to be enlighted. according to the manual, to fire rocket you have to switch Sight Mechanical Cage to the right (uncaged), then hold the Electronic Cage button on the throttle on the dive for few seconds, then release and keep the pipper on target and fire. But how do I know when to start firing ? because there's nothing tell me to start firing (as a light on the Su-25A, it'll be lighted, steady to tell me target is on range). All I see in the F86 during diving is a red light beeping like crazy on the left. P/s: how does the Rocket Dep. Angle affect firing solution ? plz don't mind my bad English.

Im using x52pro. I set X axis for 20 and Y for 25. I leave the Z axis default.

They can't afford money for testers I guess :) This complicating software need a dozen of testers to find bugs.

Autopilot - unable to engage roll/pitch channel
anlq replied to Trainzak's topic in Bugs and Problems
+1 doesn't work with mine -
I'm experiencing the same problem, too bad this bird is my favorite.

And the key mapping for Gunpod rotary switch is not working ( ; and , ). The rotary (copilot seat) moves but it doesnt allow to fire gunpod, you have to click on the rotary to make it work. Im lazy, I map every hotkey to my x52 pro so i dont want to use mouse for clicking around to much, especially while hunting.
