A civil module for DCS is a waste of manpower to develop. Instead of focus on what we already had, developers should focus on new things such as Agusta Lynx, Rafale, Eurocopter Tiger, Harrier, MiG23, Su22, ...There are available cessna module for FSX with high quality people can try. Of course I dont buy civil stuff for a war sim. I'll save money for new military module, or new map. :)

Some pictures to keep the poll alive. Su-22 Fitter from Vietnam People Air Force.

Haha, I meant AC for attack, C for the rest. In Vietnam war USAF dropped Blu 82 daisy cutter to create LZ for UH1, some sources said one or two companies of North Vietnamese People Army have been wiped out clearly using these bombs (LN developed nuke for MiG21 having the same effect)
-
Of course Im talking about an AC130 with full features at DCS level, and can do various role like CAS with JTAC, drop paratroopers, airlift, even deliver nuke ...
-
Hi LN, This idea have just come through my mind after watching a Vietnam war documentary. I think this module is really feasible, can be done. Information around the AC130 is not so hard to collect. Developers dont need to worry about multicrew aspect, player just need to set autopilot for the plane to circle around target, then jump to gunner position to use artillery, minigun to deal with targets. It also has night operation (like convoy hunting in Ho Chi Minh trail Vietnam war, or support advancing ground troop). There are many fighter, helicopter modules out there, so I think a flying truck with artillery would be so much interesting. :)

AoA is too high, but somehow I succeeded land the aircraft at 254 IAS (crosswind 9m/s). I remember the manual says landing speed should be around 300-320 in order to get proper view of the runway. I still feel something is not correct with the landing gear.
-
I can't do a crosswind landing (perpendicularly) with 6 m/s. Landing gears will always be crippled, crashed or damaged. Are MiG21 landing gears this weak ? I did touch down with 300-320 IAS, <5m/s descending, flared and kicked the rudder to line up the plane seconds before runway contact. I failed most of the attemps althought I do 100% success in normal condition. Any advise ? Edit: 20% fuel, 2 R60 loaded on outer pylon.

@BST: When can we expect the Mi-8 manual to be available?
anlq replied to Flagrum's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
"will complete" is a vague definition. We know they have had a tough time. But at least they are having many modules to complete. We know they need money, manpower, but we can wait for the next module MiG15. Just focus on completing all the others. MiG-15 can wait. (DCS has many incoming modules) I don't mean no offense, but this is a normal response from a customer. I love the Hip, but I can't read Russian, so I can't operate the helo at full performance without reading manual. That's all. -

How many developers are working on this module ? It has been 14 months since this module releasing, still no readable manual. -
Hi, I don't know if this has been reported or not, just post here to see if this will be planned to fix in the incoming patch. As the title said, my MiG-21 was loaded with 8 bomb (4x100FAB) each wing in 1-2 pylon, 2xS-24B in 3-4 pylon. I droped 4x100 FAB in the first pass, but it was still 6x100FAB in the rack. in the second pass I droped all the remaining, but amazingly it was just 4x100 FAB dropped. The number of bombs was corrected but the appearance was wrong. I attach the track for anyone who interests. Thank you !:pilotfly: Incorrect Bomb drop.trk

still no update from Belsimtek ? You did a great job, Belsimtek.

Use fixed pipper (caged pipper) because uncaged pipper is useless in a fast dogfight.
-
Keep the plane flying level above runway at minimum speed and let it lands itself. Good luck !

Hi everyone. Does anyone notice that AI always have the better radar than ours regarding MiG-21 bis module ? I tried a mission with 2 ships formation, AWACS available. On this mission I encounter a pair of F-5s, but the weird thing is A.I wingman has superior radar than ours. He always spot those F-5s at longer distance than my plane's radar. In this case it's 35-45km away (out of MiG-21 radar range). He even detects spike at his 10'oclock. This is not normal I think. I attach this mission for anyone who interests. Weapons Training.miz

Have you ever heard a higher altitude with the bis 75AP?
anlq replied to Allesmor Obranna's topic in MiG-21Bis
2 days ago I tried a mission with 3 fuel tanks. I climbed to 14.500m. To save fuel I don't use afterburner below 8000m, that's the best result personally. I guess I should take less fuel, maybe 1 center drop tank. -
I notice after mission loaded, it takes 5-10 seconds freeze for this module to work, is it normal ?

For the tail dragger, it's important to lock tail wheel during taxiing, landing, take off. With the Dora and Mustang, at slow speed below 20kmh: use differential braking. Therefore you must not use differential braking in taking off and landing. Just hold the stick back to lock tail wheel and steer with rudder. If you do right, taking off is piece of cake. Landing is a little more tricky. You should let the plane lands itself while holding stick back to lock tail wheel. But how to get this done ? It's simple, with the Dora, I do a approach at 220km/h, full flap, 40% fuel maximum. Before touching down I do a flare to reduce speed, keep the plane level 3-5m above the runway at 180-190km/h until it land itself with 3 wheels at the same time. Flying taildragger is really fun. :pilotfly:

I knew how the Mig21 radar works, bro. thats right John. I dont know if anybody comes across this, I cant lock target below 1500m no materwhat I do, except using Fixed beam. I even tried large target such as B52, still a "no cant do"
-
last night I watched a document about World War airplane. it is said that the number of pilots died in training was more than in dogfight. I guess taking off and landing killed a lot. Not so surprise it is hard to manage these tail-draggers.
-
I wonder if DCS will becomes a good training software for those terrorists ? DCS MIG21 BIS surely came at the right time (althought in Beta)
-
It seems low alt radar bug still remains. I can't lock target below 1500m. Hope they'll fix it this time.
-
In VietNam we're still using a large number of MiG-21 bis (about 100+ still in service). Sometimes technicians use these as radar cooling liquid. works like charm. j/kj/kj/kj/k :pilotfly:

Yes, that is not the AB of the 21, it is different. Im not sure if it is the standard one or not.
-
Hi. I came up with this bug while flying a random mission. First I started with a Mi8MTV2. After flushing all its weapon I jumped to this MiG21.then I realized the AB flame still showing despite the engine was idle. Plz take a look, LN, thank you !

Great news for this morning. Thank Leatherneck (y)
