Good point, and I realize that LOAL is actually there to allow the Apache to launch the 114 from behind cover, and then unmask just before strike to minimize their exposure to threats... Yeah, I've found the same things as well. I'm fighting mostly against insurgents these days...those T55s will go up after one hit.

Awesome! I'd like to thank the Academy...my mom...my dog Skip...and...and...Jesus! Can't forget about Jesus!

Hope it works out for ya.

Fair enough. Is the Vikhr a lot cheaper than Hellfire? And does anybody know if the Russians are working on a Vikhr replacement that is closer to the performance of Hellfire / Brimstone / HOT?

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of the Ka50, but I do find that the weapons systems are not great compared to, say, the AGM-114 Hellfire. Here's one case: I am at a hover laying waste to an insurgent position, and I spot the very top of a T55 behind the burnt out husk of a transport truck. Now, I can see enough of the tank to get a Shkval lockup, but I missile away, and the missile impacts the wreck. I try a second time: no dice...again an impact on the wreck. I am reminded of the AGM-114 / Apache "Lock on after lock (LOAL)" mode, which launches the hellfire high up to drop down on it's target. That would be perfect for this scenario. It wasn't *that* big of a deal, I just turned off radar alt hold and hover-climbed to 400meters and fired from up there. But I would really not want to do that if there were enemy fast movers in the area. Don't hate on me, but I *do* think that the Hellfire is superior to the Vikhr... Thoughts?

What do I win? I'll take what's behind door #2! :smilewink:

I've found this as well. What I have found is that if you type in your name in the "Pilot" area of your flight (in the mission builder), you will get credit for the flight.

As far as I know you have to reset each mission to "start from parking". Mase

Anybody know if there is a way to change the red/blue nations list once you've already saved the mission? Mase

Whenever I enable clouds, the clouds themselves flicker. What's up with that? I see from searches that it happened in LOMAC as well, but it seems only with NVidia SLi setups. Here's my setup: Asus P5B Deluxe board ATI Radeon 4870 X2 video card (Catalyst 8.10) Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 chip Anybody? Mason

Hiya all. I've been creating little missions for myself just to learn to fly the shark and its systems, but I think I've found a bug (maybe). I decided to mark red force as "Russia and Insurgents" and everybody else as blue force. No problem (see photo 1). But when I go to launch the mission, it lists everybody as a friend, and everybody as an enemy (see photo 2). Anybody else experienced this? Am I just missing something glaringly obvious? Mase

Canadian Forces accept delivery of first KA-50

I wouldn't, because it's fits with what we (Canada) does: http://www.airshowphotography.com/CH-146/mj04ch146-146458-13.jpg Mase -
Well, here's a youtube video of a similar cannon, the Bushmaster II 30mm Mk44: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okeKX8HqpIQ You can see that the HE rounds do quite a lot of damage to exposed infantry.

Pure awesome! Can I have a copy? -
I absolutely agree, and as I said in another post, this is the software bar that all game developers should measure by. That's awesome, and I thank you so much...but it's not just the lack of crashes---it's the "feel" of the software, the attention to every detail, the simple yet glorious interface/menu system, the ease of mission editing...it's everything about this piece of software that makes it great. A big well done to the devs.
