I think a Superhind would be awesome:

Wow...I stand corrected. That is awesome!!!

Hmmm....I think you mean 7.62mm miniguns (m134), or .50cal machine guns. Me too! I think it'd be awesome. Just check this out: http://nz.youtube.com/watch?v=nGbsXj6p4is

Ok, but it's a nice dream... :)

Hahahaha :megalol:

I was thinking about Longbow 2 when I created this poll. I think that, given the fact that DCS is the most realistic flight model for any helo I've ever seen, it would be awesome to have some non-combat helicopters in there. I spend a lot of time simply flying the shark around Georgia...no weapons. Wouldn't it be great to do some missions in a Mi8 or something?
-
Hey guys. The spectacular flight model in DCS:BS has me thinking: Would you fly a helicopter is it wasn't an "attack" helicopter? For example; would you fly a Blackhawk to drop troops off behind enemy lines? Or would you fly an MH-6 little Bird to drop off specops on a rooftop?

Now *I'm* ignoring you.
-
Hey Mitch, ignore the people who don't like it...I think all of your skins are brilliant.

nice one!

Welcome to the party, ArchAngel. The champagne is at the bar.

It's Georgia...use the mountains and hills for cover.

20-70 Core2Duo 8500 Wolfdale 4 Gigs Kingston Ram ATI 4870X2

You won't be sorry with the 4870x2 uhoh7. It's the fastest card on the planet! I love mine.

I've got: Core2Duo E8500 4Gigs of PC8500 Ram ATI radeon 4870X2 video card Asus P5BDeluxe mainboard I run everything absolutely max at 1680x1050 with 4xAA and 4xAF, and never get below 22fps. The new i7 chipset is supposed to be pretty good as well.

Hey Skypat. I'm eagerly awaiting Modman 7. Thank you so much for all the work you do for the community. It's very much appreciated.

Yes, you're right. But, despite how good this sim is; despite the talent of the developers; despite the MASSIVE gains the flight sim world has seen with this sim... ...they can't do everything. It's not real life. We're getting close, and titles like DCS:BS bring us closer to reality than we've ever been. But modeling everything isn't possible...yet. Yes, you are right. Is it a big deal? Not really. Why? Because so much else is great, and when you measure this sim on its merits, it is a massive leap forward in airborne combat simulation. Try not to see what DCS:BS is missing, but what DCS:BS has gained, and you won't sweat the smaller details.

Thanks all. Maybe I'll try online tonight.

That's not good. I'm already addicted to ice cream...and I hate having too many vices :smilewink:

When I tell my friends about the detail in Black Shark, they laugh at me, while double clicking the "Need for Speed Unleashed" icon on their desktops. They can't even understand why I fly in FSX...

Anybody know if the Russian Ka50 pilots use Brevity codes at all? For example, when an A-10 pilot launches a Maverick, he calls "Rifle" on the radio, or an F-16 pilot will call "Fox 1" if he fires a semi-active radar guided missile. Is there such a thing for Vikhr? I tried looking online to see if there is something that the US Army uses when firing a Hellfire, but didn't find anything. If anybody is interested in NATO brevity codes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brevity_code
-
And you're certain that you have a pilot that is from the same nation that you have selected in the mission? For example, if the flight is a Russian flight of Ka50s, you have a Russian pilot? -M
-
So...how would I even get started?
-
I've found this: http://www.pmulcahy.com/atgm/russian_atgm.htm If you scroll down to "AT-16 Scallion" (the NATO name for Vikhr), you can see the costs. There seem to be different types of missiles ranging price from $2700 - $35000.

I've got to be honest...I've never really gotten into playing games online. I once tried to get into some FPSs online, but I found that the meager amount of time that I can dedicate to games (I have a pretty busy life) always defaults to me being whipping boy. Now, I've been doing pretty well with DCS, and I was thinking that I might try flying online with some other human beings. A couple of things concern me: 1) I'm still not perfect at flying and fighting with the shark. 2) I live in Canada, which (I think) is probably behind most others (I'm guessing here that most are in Europe somewhere). Thoughts?
