  1. What's in that thread is not quite the same as I suggested.
  2. Within the first 60 seconds of that video he perfectly describes what we should have the ability to do. E.g. dropping a carrier on the map in the editor and putting static objects on it then saving that object to be placed just like the SAM templates. As it is now we have to select the drop down to tie the static objects to the ship anyway, which now that I think about it should auto happen when you click something onto the boat/an object with the ability to move. Of course I'm aware that it's more technical than this but why can't the whole object be saved as one thing at that point, I mean, the game knows what static objects are tied to the ship and exactly where on the ship they are anchored?
  3. With all the improvements to the night lighting and how awesome it is getting I'd like to bring this back up. Opening the map in a dark room while you are night flying is like getting hit with a flash bang. Making this a bit of a priority would be greatly appreciated.
  4. +1 Would very much like to be able to pull up the briefing in single player without it pausing by default.
  5. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who put time and work into all this stuff. It's way awesome. I was a bit daunted at first but it wasn't hard at all to get the few things downloaded and installed. Just got the RPM and noz. position icons working and it's too cool. I'll look into starting to help with the testing. Thanks again.
  6. Hey, any chance they are ready to post here for download yet?
  7. I'm gonna put this in bugs because the bingo knob is not consistent with other knobs, like the radar alt. Grab the radar alt knob and spin it or use the mouse wheel. Now do the same with the bingo knob. It takes forever to adjust it. To go from the default 4k up to like 6k I have to grab the knob and drag my cursor to the edge of the screen like 6 times. Using the mouse wheel to scroll it? Forget about it. I think it should be more consistent with the other knobs on the jet that are manipulated the same way, needs to be more sensitive to input.
  8. I definitely don't have any 3rd party software, well srs, and I get this too.
  9. I seem to have a lot of trouble maintaining the temps that are mentioned during training and indicated as nominal on the gauges as well. Specifically the carb temp and the head temp(the cowl adjustment). Even with the intercooler wide open I never see the 35 that was called for during the training mission. As for cylinder head temp, I don't understand that at all. It says don't operate the cowls above 225 but if I close them the temp skyrockets past 260 and maxes out.
  10. +1 I just tried the first guns guns guns air to air one and it didn't start paused, like the instructor's voice indicated it should have, and I looked around at WP 1 and 2 for a while and saw no enemies.
  11. When you say "600-700mph" were those the numbers your HUD was giving you or did you convert? Because what you are reading in the HUD is knots and not MPH.
  12. I may be wrong but I thought that procedure was to never use the afterburners during take-off in the Tomcat.
  13. I didn't want to post this in bugs yet because I am going to name multiple things in this post. Sorry if these are already known issues right now or shouldn't be bothered being brought up until lighting gets into a more normalized state. 1. The A/G radar doesn't respond to changes with the brightness knob. Only the symbology/words adjust. The actual A/G mapping stays the same and at night it's a bit too bright and gets washed out. 2. There are light sources near the outside pylons showing up, station 2 and 8 I think they are. It looks like extra navigation lights on the underside of the wings. They also have weird LOD issues, if you go to external view they only show up at a certain distance and if you get too far or close they don't draw in. Let me know if I should bother posting these in the bugs forum separately.
  14. Check the temperature that you have the mission set to. There used to be(may have come back) a bug where that would happen off the CAT when the temp was too cold on the map. That's just my first guess based off what you described. I haven't tested anything.
  15. Yea, it's like the draw distance when looking through the TGP is far less than it should be. You see the terrain/map/buildings slowly popping in/unrolling as you get closer and it looks pretty bad. I believe this is an entirely separate thing than the distance at which the point track should work like in wags video that someone else brought up here.
  16. If I use the mouse wheel click to drag out a distance/bearing line while in the mission editor after that I can no longer interact with any of the menu items. None of the items on the left or top of the screen are clickable. I can still click units that have been already been placed but even they are limited in how they respond to the mouse at that point. I am forced to pull up task manager to kill the DCS process because I cannot interact with the items at the top like FILE and whatnot. This bug was present a few builds back then gone and now it's back again for me. I can repro this 100% in old mission files and newly created ones. If someone else could try to repro this I would appreciate it.
  17. I get the same thing but it only seems to happen in FLIR white hot mode.
  18. This would be absolutely wonderful. Doesn't it do this in the F14, I haven't flown it in so long I can't recall.
  19. @M1Combat Me saying that I wish open beta was better handled and I'd be willing to wait longer for an actual playable build isn't double speak and I'm certainly not trying to instigate anything or throw ED under a bus. I am just calling things how I see them and hoping for some sort of change in the way the open beta is delivered to us, like in an actual playable state. You immediately go to telling people to STFU and name calling. You paint yourself as nothing but a troll and it diminishes your opinion. You're toxic and shouldn't be allowed to post here because your aggressive and demeaning attitude squashes constructive talk. Chump. Go upstairs and help your mom with the dishes or something, I'm sure the basement gets real hot in Arizona.
  20. I posted over on hoggit too, just for posterity and more exposure. I am tired of the damned game barely being in a playable state when we get it. I really hope ED starts implementing some sort of change to the way they are sending out these open betas.
  21. So, the MFDs are still unreadable in the sunlight and now the A/A radar barely works? Maybe if you guys try real hard ED you can just release a patch where you can't even load into the jet at all and make us wait weeks for you to fix that too. Come on man. The amount of game breaking bugs that are getting past internal builds to the open beta is unacceptable. I know it's open BETA but damn. Come on. I fully expect this post to be removed ...
  22. When I upgraded to a higher resolution monitor it felt that way at first. Just actually noticing the buffeting where before with a lower resolution it wasn't as noticable.
  23. I don't have an actual slew on my throttle and have my TDC bound to a hat switch. The little offset cursor responds far more intensely to my inputs than the main cross-hair. It's hard to be accurate with it. It maybe feels like it has just a little too much acceleration.
  24. Is this issue going to get a hotfix asap or not until the next OB update? Sorry if this has already been addressed/answered and I missed it.
  25. It's about weight. If you are over 33,000lbs(maybe 34,000lbs) you are supposed to flare. If you were landing on the boat you would just dump fuel until this point, on dry land you flare. Also what someone said about pulling the stick back and using the elevator surfaces to slow you down, which I think is effective down until about 100kts.
