That’s the best way indeed. I personally add 15-25% curves on pitch and roll depending on a warbird, and it adds more precision and realism.
-
Just humor me please. It shouldn’t be as helpless above the deck as P-47 right?
-
Guys if you’re good at dogfighting try to fight against a bot ace level on 109K. First in P-47, then in F-4U. Let us know your experience!
-
I couldn’t outrun the 109K at full power see at level in F-4U
-
I guess what I’m trying to say is in a dogfight with the best axis plane Bf-109K in DCS, F-4U is not really different from the heavy P-47. The Corsair should be more maneuverable, right?
-
I’m actually surprised that dogfighting Me-109K is as hard as in P-47. Theoretically, with F-4U lower weight and the same engine, it should be decent dogfighter. Any ideas?

Congrats everyone on the Corsair. Got mine, no problem at takeoff or landing, including on the carrier. I honestly thought it’d be more difficult than landing F-14 lol, but it was actually easier. I agree with the posts above that the engine sound needs more refinement, and I think there should be more noticeable propeller torque and slipstream effect at takeoff, as well as a more pronounced “burble effect”, the turbulence dip behind the carrier on landing approach.

Is the F-4U going to show up on Steam at the same time?
-
So the counter expired on magnitude web page, BIGNEWY posted current version number, what does that all mean?
-
Good point. It appears that the OctopusG team is polishing the Lavochkin, it does seem it’s ready for the release, considering all the short videos and screenshots. As much as I like the Bf-109 and the Spit, their presence in the virtual skies lacks the equal power Red warbird.
-
@PlexusGuys, I’m wondering about the release timeframe. Can’t we just get La-7 for early access since it’s on the final stage of the development? Or can you just give us some kind of estimate?
-
I wonder if the OctopusG team was able to find the authentic ASh-82FN engine sound for this module. It’s pretty rare these days, especially in a single engine warbird. The closest I was able to find is this

I fly La-5FN in IL-2 Sturmovik and it’s such a great fighter, beating Bf-109G-2/6 series. I’m super stoked about the La-7 in DCS, truly a great addition to its WW2 fleet. Thank you @Plexus team for making this happen!
-
Come on guys just release the plane already! I don’t even need a discount!
-
Can’t wait to get the La-7 in DCS. Trying to get used to il-2 sim but it’s just not as visually appealing and the physics is not quite there…

Hello everyone, I’m sure this question has been asked before - please advise how to “refresh” the existing liveries for non flyable jets in DCS. Is it even possible to make them a little more HD? Any help is appreciated!

The ED in its official capacity may not be willing to deal with projects requiring access to classified Soviet documents - and that is totally understandable, we know that and we are not asking for that. In the meantime, third party developers AND specifically the community members who are not bound by any official capacities, are free to research in any way they want within the reasonable constraints. A lot of folks here speculate about lack of documentation with a premise that lacks any evidence. And if you do, feel free to contact and we’ll discuss it. At the end of the day, we talk about searching for materials to develop software for a computer simulation game. There are many countries where redfor planes were exported, and finding the documentation is a matter of efforts and some time UNLESS all those attempts, in reality are failed - no one can convince us that something is not possible. Cheers. P.S. Not sure who was trying to hire a lawyer but it was not me

For those who speak Russian. I’ll translate key points of the interview soon.

We are building a community of people who think the MiG-25 can make the difference in the DCS as we know it. And I’m 100% sure it’s that iconic plane, old enough but still relevant for the Sinai and Syria maps. Large enough community can demonstrate that making the Foxbat will be commercially successful. We can even count on you buying the module, as soon as a third party developer releases the beta version. Moreover, I’m confident many DCS pilots will buy it. For example, being a fan of the redfor, I still bought F-18 and the carrier because I was curious about carrier ops. Then the interest grew and I bought the F-14. The high altitude reconnaissance/interceptor/bomber is not only interesting as a concept, but also very challenging to pilot properly to utilize its strengths.

Thank you very much sir! I’ll PM you soon with some ideas.

Lots of diminishing rhetoric here. A myth? Are you a community myth buster? Clearly you are trying to dissuade us all here. What’s at stake? Are you afraid that some third party developers are going to read that and may be interested in one of the redfor planes, God forbid the MiG-25! Oh no! Come on, take it easy
