Will there be a discount package for getting the throttle and panels all at once? That would push me over the edge.

So, at the risk of asking a really stupid and obvious question, why isn't it possible to simply affix a small knob or attachment to the existing slew device that is there. For instance, in less than 30 seconds, I was able to make a small knob with a plastic cap and a washer I had laying around. I haven't glued it to the end of the slew control yet, but when I hold it onto the end of the device, it seems like it will function well...Surely, someone must have tried this.

$100 - $150 USD seems reasonable for each panel.

Is there any information or details about the upcoming combat ready and take-off panels for the throttle? I'm very interested in the throttle, but the current panel and its switches don't really blow up my skirt. I will use the switches on the panel most for take-off and/or combat, so I'd like to see how these options will stack up next to the panel that currently ships with the throttle, and see what features they will offer, i.e. FCS reset, flaps, radio, etc.? Thanks.

So it works when I set a key command to call the ball. I never do get the ball option in the comms menu like I have seen in videos, but once called with the key command, the LSO communicates with me . Strange.

OK. So this has to be done by key command? Because the option does not show up in the comms menu...

Just caught my first 3 wire in the Super Carrier module, but one problem...I never get LSO comms. All communications work as intended throughout, from first contact with ATC at 50nm, through contact with tower at 3nm, breaking the deck and kiss off. Then, when I turn on final with gear, flaps and hook down, I never seem to get any ball option or comms from the LSO. I can only call Clara. What am I doing wrong?

I hear some doctors are prescribing the Super Carrier module in lieu of Viagra. It seems to be having a similar effect.

Whatever can be done to raise anxiety and make the wait more intolerable. lol

My only complaint with ED, which clearly remains, has been about the manner in which information is conveyed, or in most cases, not conveyed. I have never faulted ED for bugs, glitches, technical issues and the like. If its broke, I get it, but to not include any official word or comment in the weekend updates is patently ridiculous. Its just another missed opportunity to communicate effectively with your customer base. It almost feels spiteful...although, I'm certain it is not.

Not even so much as a mouse fart in the weekend news. All it would take is a single line. "We know you're eagerly waiting. We're working hard and we are getting there." Something...Anything. Instead? Nothing! But, some of you will keep making excuses claiming that ED communication is second to none! Enjoy the P47 screenshots though.

In my line of business, if I was as vague, ambiguous and non-communicative as I feel ED sometimes is with information, I wouldn't have any clients and I wouldn't be in business. The manner in which information is conveyed is my number one criticism with ED, beyond anything else. Communication is scattered, comes from multiple sources and is posted in multiple places with an absolute and utter lack of consistency. Furthermore, most informative posts aimed at providing an update raise more questions than they actually answer. I can only surmise that this is done on purpose, as the information is either simply not available to the person posting it, or the full truth is left undisclosed for various internally mandated reasons, which leaves the individual communicating it to dance around the truth. Some people are always going to hold delays, bugs and problems against ED, and in many circumstances, unfairly so. However, communicating well and reasonably is 100% within ED's control and its consistent failure to do so is completely an unforced error. ED has proven time and time again to be its own worst enemy.

It is insulting at this point. Communication? Transparency?

Thanks. That makes more sense, but Kate's message comes across as meaning that SP could be released in 2 weeks without too much trouble if acceptable progress on MP has not been made. If that's not the case then I'm with you. I can see why precious resources shouldn't be diverted for something temporary like that.

Now this just pisses me off and I really have to call BS on the excuse given for today's delay. If you're prepared to do this in 2 weeks, why the hell not just do it now. WTF?

This is actually a really good point that seems to have been lost in the shuffle. They were either not being forthcoming then, or they are not being forthcoming now. This just goes to my point that the decision to delay again on the ground of "MP functionality" is illogical and doesn't make sense. There must be something more. I just don't understand why they can't be honest...and well..."transparent" about it. As I stated previously, I'm not happy about a delay, but if it doesn't work, it doesn't work and it can't be released. However, communicate it better, honestly and in a more timely fashion. Also, the announcements about an imminent announcement have got to stop. Just make the announcement once. You'll spare your customers the apprehension, anxiety and aggravation that builds in between. This is really just common sense. Finally, on the issue of transparency...saying you are going to be transparent is just lip service. You actually have to do it.

Why does one need to take one position or the other? Doesn’t someone have the right to be pissed and understanding at the same time? Speaking for myself, I’m really disappointed that the release has been delayed. I’m also really annoyed that news of the delay was conveyed the morning of the anticipated release with not a whole lot of detail about the actual reason for the delay and no new commitment to a future release date. That is a really bad sign. At the same time, if it’s just not ready, it’s just not ready, and if it doesn’t work, then they can’t release, and I understand that. So, in that regard the decision to delay is also practical and perhaps unavoidable. $hit happens, we have to deal with it. What I don’t understand is all the accolades that go out to “Kate” for making some statement on the morning of release that includes a little more information on a general development roadmap. Whoopty doo. Until yesterday, I didn’t even know who she is. She barely interacts with the community here and I’m hard pressed to view the single post as “transparency”. That honestly rubs me the wrong way much more than the actual delay. I mean the whole announcement about an announcement makes no sense. It created much more agitation then necessary. I’m just flummoxed by all the ass kissing over this announcement. Sorry if I do not accept it at face value, remain skeptical and expect more. Ive been with this sim since the beginning. I’m not going anywhere, but I have a right to be put off, and I won’t be apologetic for my disappointment just because the CEO who I’ve barely ever heard of made some general announcement.

Just like that, the single player crowd gets the shaft. I don’t really follow the logic. If the cause of the delay is true, and it functions acceptably in single player, why not release. Isn’t giving everyone something on time better than giving nothing to no one? It would at least let both the SP and the MP crowd learn how to use the module while waiting for full functionality. My personal hunch is that the problems are deeper and more complicated. Where is Wags, for instance? Why no videos?

Thanks for bringing up IPD...it is a subject I do not know much about. Do I need to actually measure my own personal IPD and then input that setting? Right now it is set for 63.5, but I have no idea if that is what it should be. Thanks.
