  1. It would be great if we could see contrails without having to zoom in. Generally from the ground I can spot them outside my house without any aids at distances 30-70 miles, verified with Flightradar24.
  2. For the test switch to work the a/c must be higher than 3000 ft. There seems to be a slight delay between pressing the switch and the lamp coming on. Very seldom can my ears pick up the ringing sound but I hope it comes on at the same time.,
  3. Oil dilution, this a process where gasoline is added to the oil prior to the aircraft being shut down. There was no 10w-50 oil as we have today and simply adding a few squirts of gas prior to starting is not going to dilute 21 gal or more of 50 weight oil enough for a cold weather start. To be realistic you would have the ground crew start the engine long before the mission. If you wanted to do it correctly? Researching this for the P-51 last year I found this under ""landing": Page 27 of Army Manual AN 01-60JE-1 for the P-51D-5, stopping engine: "(2) If a cold weather start is anticipated, hold oil dilution switch, on pilot's switch panel, "ON" (2 minutes maximum)."
  4. I have had airspeed go bonkers in the 109 with pitot heat on several times. No trk's though.
  5. 50 cal will stop a locomotive and take care of the other cars as well.
  6. I don't have any TO's but I have managed to keep this for 58 years. About 25 pages of info. Pick up the folder ASG-19 FCS from my dropbox. I'll leave it open for a month or so. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/26o5u2xxkhymwtr/AAB0g5gx3E36HIqY01gR1ITYa?dl=0
  7. Beta version of DCS would probably show more servers.
  8. Chuck, I don't know how often you come here, seems the only place I can contact you. Here is the URL for 4YA Discord, enjoy the event!

  9. There were a bunch of F-4E's flying during the USAF's SEA adventures. Pictures are available online but really wouldn't a/c with the squadron tail code markings from that conflict be appropriate for this version of the Phantom? The SEA camouflage pattern is consistent for all a/c, squadron tail color applications may vary a bit and a photo would show that. The Tail Code would be the biggest, easiest identifier. These are the F-4E MiG killers from that conflict. 67-0333 35th TFS 366th TFW tc LC 68-0338 13th TFS 432th TRW tc OC? 68-0338 555th TFS 432th TRW tc FY? 67-0210 58th TFS 432th TRW tc ZF 67-0283 469th TFS 388th TFW tc JV 67-0270 4th TFS 366th TFW tc LA 67-362 555th TFS 432th TRW tc FY? 67-0292 4th TFS 432th TFW tc LA 67-0239 58th TFS 432th TRW tc ED 69-7235 366th TFS 8th TFW 69-0291 4th TFS 432th TFW tc LA 69-0392 34th TFS 388th TFW tc JJ 69-0392 35th TFS 388th TFW tc JJ 67-0268 35th TFS 388th TFW tc JJ 67-0275 35th TFS 388th TFW tc JJ 68-0493 34th TFS 388th TFW tc JJ 66-0313 34th TFS 388th TFW tc JV 69-0276 35th TFS 388th TFW tc JJ 67-0232 307th TFS 432th TRW tc ZF 67-0301 34th TFS 388th TFW tc JV
  10. We have AI aircraft, where are the moving trains? It has to be easier?
  11. Too much crazing on canopy surfaces, can't see out! On the front "glass" too!
  12. Toda I flew one mission in a CW to play with it, it's not what I usually pick. For my second mission I picked the standard Mk IX and found that basically, I had no controls! I tried loading the saved file but no luck. I loaded my backup file, which is in a completely different area in my HD and again nothing. Rebooted and still no joy so I spent an hour rebuilding my original Mk IX file, saving and backing it up! Big pain, no more CW for me.
