I shut down the servers last night and when I put them up this morning I noticed that the names had been changed back to "DCS Server" from the names I gave them. That means that something changed the Serversettings.lua. I manually changed them back but I can still control the servers with my method. I get the sense that the servers arent down. They appear down to those who have had their settings unwittingly misconfigured due to something at DCS. I too was unable to control the servers for a week. My buddy in the same city had no issues at all. This is why I say the servers arent down. If they were he wouldnt be running his servers perfectly uninterrupted.

This example of my fix assumes you have the new web gui set up properly and it used to work but doesnt now. What we were all used to is going to DCS web page, logging in and in profile we would ping our servers and click on the server and web gui would open and we could access and control the server. That stopped for some of us. Now what I need to do for my 2 servers (release and open beta) is to creat a shortcut for each games index.html and run that and manually enter the port associated with the autoexec.cfg that is inside each instance folder of each server. You will need to locate your Instance folder you made to use the new web gui style server. I called mine Instance 1 and Instance 2. You may have called them something else. You will also need to get into your DCS install folder. All the way into Webgui folder as noted below. During the setup of the Instance folder for your server you possibly created an autoexec.cfg file inside the config folder. We will need to get to this file. What we did was added (with note++) webgui_port = 12345 (12345 is any port you have opened. I dont think it matters which port but the port specified above cannot be used by DCS servers you run. Choose a completely different port that is open.) So again this autoexec with the aformentioned code goes inside the config folder which is inside the Instance folder that you created when you set up the new style server. We then created a shortcut from the index.html that is inside your C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\WebGUI We put this shortcut of index.html on the desktop because it is convenient. Also for convenience we renamed it Admin Open Beta 12345 The reason we put the port number as part of the name is because it is a reminder of what to enter when the web gui will pops up. Run that shortcut. When web gui opens and the connect box is there enter the port used to creat the autoexec.cfg inside the instance folder. You need to literally enter the last digit of the port a few times in the connect box to get it to see your server. I have no idea why. If you put it in too fast it may give you the Server not responding message even though you know your servers are running (and they should be running at this time if you expect to connect). If it does this then just reenter the last digit and wait. Keep doing it and it should connect and display your server details.

Its time to put human gunners in the Huey and update the flight model.

Has anyone created a brevity or set of terms to describe for the pilot the position of planes in a dogfight? Is there an SOP for RIO callouts in a dogfight like speed, AOA, missiles, etc etc?

The sweep lever (yellow) also has a z axis movement. If you click it it will go in and out not just fore and aft. Sweep it forward and push it in (z axis) and press the master reset (white button)

I am also suffering the web gui maintenance issue. It worked and then it didnt. I cannot control my servers. Check this out. My friend in the same city, who also runs servers with gui, can not only still control his servers with web gui but he can log into my account (with my permission) and control my servers just fine from his computer. When he logged in and found my servers in the DCS list he clicked on them and brought up the web gui and set them for me. How the hell can he do that and I cant? All ports open and I tried several different ports. Also he connected through team viewer and checked all my settings. It should be working!

Im having a tough time getting my server off of pause when it starts. I changed all of the server setting files to pause on start false and yet it still starts paused and I cant seem to unpause it. I used to just use the web gui to do that. I cant imagine how to change this because now I cant host at all.

Is it still down for everyone?

Is anyone else having the issue where you can only bind keys for about 1 minute and then it doesn't?

I have 200 hours on the Huey and I know something of helicopters. I find myself in cruise (100-120kts) with ZERO WIND and holding 3/4 left rudder to keep the inclinometer ball on the turn and bank centred and track a constant magnetic track over the ground. The heli is yawed 20-25 degrees left of the track over the ground. During this time the helicopter is wings level on the attitude indicator. I think this amount of angle difference between heading and track is way too much.It is as though I am flying in a 30 knot crosswind. I do understand torque and the anti torque tail rotor. I understand that the tail rotor pushes the entire helicopter to the left and this requires a right skid low hover to hold position in zero wind. I just think they got it wrong. I would have thought that in fast forward flight the translational lift gained would actually lessen the torques effect. In the same way that in a fixed wing plane loses its induced drag the faster it goes lessening the vorticies it creates. There are advantages to moving a flying craft faster through the air. Also I would have thought that fast forward flight would allow the fuselage and and yaw stabilizing features (the body and fin) to assist in tracking. I would have thought that less rudder (tail rotor) input would be required the faster you flew. Any Huey pilots out there can comment.

I was trying to setup both an open beta and release server on a dedicated machine. They weren't showing up on the master DCS server list together. One would show up then on refresh of that list the other would show up. I couldn't join one but could join the other. Friends could see one but not the other. I suspect I am the only one who didnt know you had to run each server on a different port. I was running both on the default of 10308 and it was a hassle. So as soon as I ran the other on 10310 it worked perfectly. No problem here just a solution for possible circumstances someone might run into Make sure to open the range 10308 to about 10315 as this is what the DCS server community seems to use.

Virpil you should really do something to increase your stock
backstab replied to Ifikratis's topic in VIRPIL Controls
They do owe me something. Respect. The basic respect that exists between customer and seller. I expect Virippil to be organized and honest. I expect their product to work. I expect them to be professional. People are waiting to get a stick from them. They hold off purchases to pledge their money to Virpil instead of getting another companies product like TM or VKB. This is garbage business practice. I am assuming they immediately ran out of stock. I was trying to pay for my stick within 4 minutes of the site coming back up and it failed. Out of stock. If we all can agree that no one has any respect and owes nobody anything then maybe I spend my time polluting the internet with all the issued I am having with their throttle, stick and customer service. I can cause 10's of thousands of dollars worth of lost revenue by simply telling the truth. I don't do that for a number of reasons of which one is basic respect. Something I owe them. Also its something Im not seeing a lot of in return. -
If I were to have purchased my second grip and it wasnt one with all the features boy would I be pissed off.
-
omg i had one in basket and poof OOS

I am surprised that Virpil is not offering a discount for those supporters that bought the first grip. I will be buying the new CM2 and have used the T50 for 6 months or more. Its good but I need the extra 4 way for the A10C. I'm not terribly impressed with this company. One of their products has had an issue and I wasn't satisfied with their handling of me. Im still waiting on parts Ill never get. I am pleased someone has taken on creating controllers so I support them. When Im done they will have accepted nearly 2000 of my money. They could do better. I smell planned obsolescence in their marketing strategy. You cannot be in the joystick business and not understand that the premier simulation is DCS and that of all the modules the A10C is by far the most complex. I own most modules. All of the hi fidelity. To create a stick that cant handle that is not a mistake, its a plan. I feel the need to have this stick so i can do what many other previous controllers could do with 4, 4 way hats on the stick alone. The X65F and the Warthog to name two. Im sure there are more. I don't like being played and manipulated by some companies greed. Now if I am wrong about planned oscelence and it was a mistake to not add the 4th 4 way to the original stick then we are handing our money to a company not grounded in simulation. A company that didnt seek out what the market needed and then choose to deliver it right away. Somehow they didnt get it Think about the engineering it took to add the 4th 4 way. Insignificant. The wiring is simple. The CAD person who designs the shape of the grip to accommodate the new 4 way switch would have no issue whatsoever with the creation of what we now see in the CM2. You have to ask yourself what is really going on over there at Virpil. Stop playing games Virpil. Put your heads down and get to work and create good products for a fair price.

I see the new grip CM2 available in europe so how does someone in North America buy one of these?
-
will do
-
I see it now thanks. I was looking at the wrong manual.
-
9-11? It ends on page 9. Must be a different manual. Link yours so I can see it
-
The A10C is exactly why I would upgrade. Making my T50 grip for sale soon.
-
https://virpil.com/en/support/downloads Is this the manual you are referring to?
-
We should get a discount in fact. Its disconcerting that I spent what I spent and now its less than what it was in such a short time. I hope they give a deal to the original supporters of their product fairly. I would like the new stick simply for the button count. In my opinion the new stick is now equal to what I had replaced with their original T50.
-
Isn't this in the manual? Just kidding. The manual isn't finished and they are working on other projects

T1 is a bad idea and they should have known that. I turned mine into cover up is open canopy. Cover down is close canopy and the silver switch 3 times punches me out. If I am flying and I lift the cover to eject, the canopy opens and rips off but who cares I'm ejecting anyways
