  1. Wow! That info is what I've been looking for. Thank you very much Gentlemen you've saved my day! Now it looks reasonable and understandable for me. Thank you!
  2. Modern aircraft they dont actually show AOA to you even they do have AOA sensors. What you can see its a "caution bars" which appear when you're getting closer to the critical or max AOA. Lets say Embraer, I'm flying Emb-135BJ, shows those bars to you in green when you're 10deg to stall, yellow when 5, and red when its 2 or less. Hawkers and CJ they do have a separate gauge for the AOA. So it's marked from 0 to 1. One '1' is a stall. So normally Vref is always at 0.6. And in all these examples indication is linear. And because of it and also because they mentioned range of AOA probe in the manual, I thought it supposed to be some kind of proportion between units and AOA in degrees. Im pretty much sure that load factor and a Mach number (at list below speed of sound ) is only affecting stall speed but not the max AOA.
  4. Just got my F-14B after a free trial. Really appreciate the quality of this product. Found myself struggling with understanding of AOA units. Basically I don’t need to overthink this question, and use this indication as it is. But still, just theoretically: According to the manual : “ Tape indicating angle of attack (AOA) on a scale of 0 to 30 units. (Equivalent to -10° to +40° rotation of the AoA probe.)“ So 50 degrees of total AOA probe range corespondents to 30units of AOA tape. Which makes around 1 unit=1,67 degrees. According to this proportion 15units= -10 + (15*1,67)= -10+25=15 degrees of AOA, but in fact in window of external view (F2) we can see AOA= 10. Basically we don’t know what does AOA shows to us. Is it a AOA of the longitude axis of an airplane, or it’s AOA of a airfoil chord (which is more likely). When the F14 is on the ground with the pitch of “0” AOA is 0.7 degrees (on the external view). This probably means that wing to fuselage attachment angle is about +0.7. If the proportion above is correct we might think that AOA tape supposed to show us indication of around 6.4. But in fact we can see only 4.5 instead. So that proportion isn’t correct for both cases. So how does it work in reality? Is this proportion linear? And what is the “zero” position of probe to fuselage attachment? Or what I’m missing? For example F15 on the runway shows pitch of 0 degrees and AOA =0 (in external view window F2). AOA tape shows 10units, (whole range from 0 to 40) which make me think that it’s kinda the same system but with proportion 1unit =1degree of AOA. And range 0 to 40 units= -10 to +30 degrees of AOA. Please let me know what you think about all of this. Thank you!
  6. Just got my F-14B after a free trial. Really appreciate the quality of this product. Sorry for using this topic for my question, but since it’s all about AOA, please let me ask. 7.
  11. Hello everyone! Im still about to order CLS-E joystick. Dont you have any info when the brunner software is going to get a support of standart windows joystick force feedback driver. Most of the time Im flying piston engine A/C in IL2 and it does support FF joysticks providing data of the aerodynamic center and a force on each axis, and I wish brunner could utilize it
  12. Gentlemen, very good evening to you. I’d like to share my happiness with you) I’ve recently received renewed HP Reverb Pro and it’s awesome even comparing to my previous Rift S. Got some performance issues at the beginning and problem with headset awakening, but everything has been solved by using action steps from this link. https://vr4dcs.com/2019/08/08/moving-from-oculus-to-reverb/ So if someone has some extra money to get a nice picture in the Sim, Reverb is highly recommended!
  14. Hello everyone! I just recently finished my video, where I'm trying to pay everyone's attention to a problem of lack of force feedback devices in our days. I had special guests in this clip, ILya "UIV" the head of VKBcontrollers and Andrey Solomykin "An. Petrovich" the leading engineer-programmer of "IL2-Sturmovik" Hope someone will find this video interesting or/and will share his own thoughts on this topic. Thank you!
  20. Thank you. So 4NM means around 1,5 kg or 3,5lbs with arm of around 25cm (10cm extension +grip) Well not that much, but the point in this whole thing that it could give you feedback - feeling of “airplane behavior”. As I understand, cls-e joystick it’s just side product of professional actuators production and that’s why the main feature like FFB is still under development. So you can precisely tune behavior of joystick in order make one particular aircraft fly as it should in real life through deep management in software. It’s more suitable for making a simulation cockpit, like we use for the type ratings and recurrents. But for the “in home” simulation you can use VR for being in the cockpit of variety of aircraft, and every Sim itself already calculating data for all forces (changeable “center” stick position and variable load) you just need to check FFB box in the menu. So the key feature is still missing, but I still is going to order this joystick, hoping that they gonna fix it soon. Once it’s working you don’t have to be thinking too much, how to tune every airplane module, cause Sims doing it for you depends on what aircraft type it is. Does it have a hydraulic or does it it have a force-trim. Also it would be possible to fly in other Sims which are more suitable for flying piston engine airplanes like IL-2, or Condor2- glider simulator. OH by the way. I’ve heard that in order to let the load rise with the airspeed in DCS, you’ve to uncheck hydraulic box in Brunner software.
  21. Thank you very much for the quick response. Am I getting you right that you’re using original 12cm Virpil extension of the stick and still getting a decent load with this arm!? I haven’t expected that to be honest. I thought those motors are not that powerful to keep up with any extension. Can you please describe what load (amount of force) approximately can you get with such an extension before you can overcome stick. Let’s say in killos or pounds? So grip itself works okay providing key mapping of all buttons and axis (with 3/4 of brake lever travel?
  22. Hello everyone I’m about to order one FFB joystick base from Brunner. Could you please give me a hand with choosing a grip for it. Seems like not everything’s connecting smoothly. Does anyone have any working combination or experience how to make it working. Preferably is to get Mongoose from Virpil cause it has a brake lever and VKB MCG grip is not working with this system at all. Thank you for your advices.
