Bailey's VoiceAttack Profiles (Added OH-58D Kiowa!)
ouseler replied to Bailey's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hey Bailey, I got the F-18C.vax to load finally. Don't why it loads now and not yesterday. Anyway, I was going through the commands and noticed, for example, when I spoke "Active Pause", the software recognizes the command with a green box, but then brings up the Voiceattack Manual.pdf. Other commands, evoke similar reactions to the Voiceattack manual or Internet Explorer or other software. Do you know what could be causing this? -
For those of you who have been on the forum for a whole and have seen my past posts asking for advise and help and a Frame Rate pause or stutter that has been the bain of my existence. Initially, I noticed it with A-10C. You are either on the ground taxiing out, where I saw it the most, or in the air down low, the stutters would come into play. At the time, my system was an i5-6600K, GTX 1080, 32GB RAM, SSD drive with TrackIR 5 configuration. Hoping that more power would burn through the problem, I gutted my old system and rebuild it into a i9-9900K, RX 6800 XT, 32GB, SSD drive with TrackIR 5 configuration. But to no avail. The stutter was still there, though not quite as bad. Then I upgraded further to a EVO 970 PLUS NVMe 1 TB drive and installed a Win 10 to the drive and also did a clean install of DCS to the NVMe drive. And VOILA, the game was like BUTTA!, at least for a day. Then the problem returned AGAIN!! But this time, I noticed something. I would see a frame drop every 10 seconds; like clockwork. And therein was the answer. My "monitor" is a 4K 40" TV with a refresh rate of 60Hz. I set my GPU to max rate at 60 Hz, thinking that would synch the two and for a while it seemed to. So I started playing around the full screen and vsync options and notice that when vsync was on, the 10 sec stutter stopped, but the motion when moving my head was rough and not the butterly smoothness I wanted. I turned off vsync and the 10 sec stutter returned. At least, I was starting the isolate the issue. Then I started to mess around with the MAX frame rate setting in the GPU (which was set to 60 Hz). With vsync off moving the GPU MAX frame rate setting even 2 Hz off 60 hz, the stutter stopped, but the butterly smoothness was still there for the most part. Mission accomplished. Now all I need is a higher refresh rate monitor and I may have the frame rate display that I have been looking for. I hope this helps someone!

The M2000C module has been out for a long time and it's still not complete? Have you heard when it is expected to be completed or is it open-ended? -
I just bought a Samsung EVO 970 1TB drive. It has not arrived yet, but my hope is that it will help with "ticks" and quick freezes that I get in DCS. When that happens, the activity light on my SSD drive lights up like it is having to "go to the well" too often. I recently rebuilt my whole system with Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Pro mobo, I9-9900K CPU, 32GB low latency RAM, AMD 6800 XT GPU, my drives are a PNY 480GB SSD (current boot drive) and a 1 TB Western Digital FireCuda (DCS location). Again, I hope to jump in speed will help my issues. So far, the SSDs and other hardware have not affected my problem.

Hey Bailey, I love your profiles and prefer them over others I have tried. Are thinking about doing one for the M2000C? -
Growling Sidewinder is who I am training with, but he is not always available when I am and suggested that regularly training with real humans would be my next step. When I get on the Growling Sidewinder Open Conflict Server, I get my butt kicked. There are just too many enemies and chaos going on and I need some 1 V 1 time.

Does anyone know if there is a server for BVR training? I have been looking around and am only finding servers for squadrons and flying missions. I am really wanting to up my game and my trainer says I have progressed past AI opponents and need to start flying against real folks to to further hone my skills. Any thoughts?

I was using Dr. Extractor. I downloaded WinZip and it installed properly. HOORAH!! Dr. Extractor has been good to me for everything but this for some reason. Thanks for the suggestion.

I tried a single installation again deleting all other copies at Users/username/Saved Games/Mods/Aircraft. I placed the CivilAircraftMod folder in the Aircraft folder. It still comes up with at error when loading INTERCEPTOR campaign. (Needs modules for load mission: CivilAircraftMod) When I extract from Civil+Aircraft+Mod+V0.86.7z (the latest I could find) from http://www.cam.em-key.de, it says the extraction fails, but it shows everything (I think) in the folder like the extraction was successful. Not sure what is going on there. Is this the file I should be downloading? If not, what is the proper one?

Hey Bunny, I've been playing your Oil in the Water campaign and really enjoy it. I am on the nigh mission and attempting to bomb fast attack boat in my kill box. However, I am having a real problem trying to find the boats with the FLIR (even with labels ON). I tried using the ground radar and did not have any luck there either. So far I having only been able to drop on one boat which I killed. Another thing is the wingman will not engage the boats. He says AFFIRM and flys out to them but does not attack and rejoins. Do you have any suggestions? Also, I have noticed that if I fail a mission and end it, the next mission is the one I completed to get to the one I failed on. Is this the way it was coded?

OK, I found the Civil Objects mod and installed it. That error is gone, but it keeps showing the CivilAircraftMod error and have placed it in several folders to get it to work without success.

Not able to taxi in Serpents Head 2 campaign
ouseler replied to ouseler's topic in F/A-18C The Serpent's Head 2 Campaign
Yes, it was not the mission. I was using a VoiceAttack profile that was hear some background noise and putting the game into ACTIVE PAUSE without notifying me. So I could do everything as normal in the cockpit, but could not move the aircraft. When I realized this, I changed the code to only initiate the ACTIVE PAUSE when I pressed the buttons to do so instead listening for it. After that I had no issues. Thanks for following up though. -
I have downloaded the INTERCEPTOR campaign for the F-18 from the DCS user files. When attempting to start, a dialog box popped up and said I needed the Civil Aircraft Mod to run this campaign. I downloaded and installed the Civil_Aircraft_Mod to Users/XXXXX/Saved Games/Mods/Aircraft(created this folder) via a tutorial I found on YouTube, but the campaign still does not want to load giving the message: Need modules for load mission: Civil_Objects CivilAircraftMod Now when I extracted the files to put in the aircraft folder, it said the extraction failed. I checked the folder and it looked like everything was there. Does anyone know what could be the problem?

Bailey, I put in the 7 sec delay for the button press on the timing for PAUSE. But it does not seem to fix the problem. I have been getting multiple ACTIVE PAUSES during a mission. I have to turn off my mic to make it stop and then I cannot use voiceattack. -

Hey Bailey, I have been using your F-18C voiceattack profile for a while now. Good work! However, I have been experiencing random ACTIVE PAUSES in the game when I use your profile. I think the program is misinterpreting some random background noise or something and ACTIVE PAUSING. When I disable my headset mic, there is no problem. I have deleted the ACTIVE PAUSE line from the Voice Attack file, it still does it. I thought about deleting the keybinding, but I still like to use it from time to time. Just not when I don't intend to. Do you have a suggestion what could be causing the problem? -
SERPENTS HEAD 2 CAMPAIGN UPDATED 19AUG20
ouseler replied to Badger633's topic in Missions and Campaigns
I'm having trouble with mission 5. I cannot get all the JSOWs to hit the bunkers. The first time I tried it the SAM site shot them all down. I thought they were stealthy and could not be shot down easily. The second time, I launched from 35K ft and .9 Mach and 2 of them exploded in the clouds. Why is this happening? -
I am having similar issues with the INS taking over 7 minutes to align on the carrier; land based seems to be more faster. You mentioned boxing the Stored HDG on the HSI immediately after switch to align the INS (CV). I looked and could not find that. Where is it and will this expedite the alignment?

TM Warthog HOTAS C/M operation and mapping
ouseler replied to ouseler's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Thanks Bunny! However, my CMS hat is programmed for Weapons Select (default). CMS aft is GUNS, CMS FWD is AIM-7s. Secondly, will the flare and chaff mappings work to activate the CM program if turned ON? -
I've been flying the F-18 for a few weeks and its been fun. Now I am in a campaign and want to get my countermeasures and ECM setup. There seems to be not much to the ECM. Turn it on, let it warm up, do the BIT test, and then set it to do its thing. However, I am having trouble with executing the C/M programs. I can set them up, but I cannot get them to execute. Here's what I do: 1. Set the Master Switch to ARM 2. Turn Dispenser switch to ON 3. Go to the C/M screen set up the chaff and flares quantities and intervals. 4. Save the program. My flares are mapped to my throttle coolie hat right and the chaff is mapped to throttle coolie hat left. These work fine when I am in Dispenser BYPASS; they will manually dispense. However, when I try to turn on the C/M program and use either coolie hat position, I get nothing. I know I am missing something. I just don't know what it is.

I preordered the SYRIA map a while back and when it came out on Friday, I was excited to download and check it out. However, the module manager does not have it and I cannot download it. Now I read in the Customer Support notes that new modules are released for Open Beta and would be released for Stable at a later time. I had OB and stable on my drive, but they both were taking up a lot of room so I deleted OB. Okay, with that being said, when can I expect the SYRIA map to be available on Stable?

I'm having a pause or stutter issue with my 1080. I just upgraded my Mobo, CPU, PSU, and RAM (Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro, i9-9900K, Rosewill 1000W, and 32GB of 3200MHz RAM, respectively). This was in an attempt to finally eliminate this pausing (randomly for a 1 sec), but to no avail. I've got a high end system (with exception of the GPU), but still the same problem. I am running the 451 version Nvidia driver. Do you think going back to a older driver may be the answer? If so, how far do I need to go back?

What Nvidia driver version is best for DCS?
ouseler replied to ouseler's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Thanks guys. I suppose the GPU drivers aren't the problem. -
I have been experiencing random pauses during gameplay and it has been driving me crazy. I have just read on the EVGA forum that the new NVidia Hotfix 451.85 "Might cause random pauses up to a couple seconds during game play in some games" Well, I am experiencing this very thing and have been pulling my hair out trying to troubleshoot it. Can someone tell what is a stable Nvidia driver version for DCS?
