  1. Since you are Mr. Fix-it: I have the slider axis on my Warthog throttle that is out of calibration. It seems to be off-center. Do you know if there is anything in DCS that can cause that or is it purely a device problem? Thrustmaster hasn't been much help.
  2. SUCCESS!!! I ran the DCS cleanup and repair and the rendering issues stopped. Thank you for your help!!
  3. Flappie suggested doing a Cleaning and Repair. And if that did not work sending him the log file. I will do that and see what happens. I am running an AMD 7900XTX GPU. Do you think that the drivers for that may be an issue for 2.9?
  4. Thanks for the suggestion Flappie. I set the FOD to 1, but it's still doing the same thing. I also tried the max setting of 2 and no change.
  5. Hey BD, I've found out that invisible carrier problem seems to be more of a DCS 2.9 or GPU driver issue or something issue. I am seeing only the AIM-9X on the wingtip and only on the Hornet, not rendered properly when I look over at it from the cockpit (this is also in addition to the invisible carrier until 3 miles away). I can zoom in on it and the rendering improves (I looked it the X when in the F-16 and everything looks fine). And this is in the CASE I Recovery training mission with the Hornet module, not your campaign. I played with the DCS system settings, my GPU settings (AMD 7900XTX), even reverted back to an earlier GPU driver when I can remember everything looking fine. To no avail. I posted the issue on the forums, but did not get any responses. Have you experienced anything like this?
  6. I am having issues with objects not rendering properly or are not visible from distance (like aircraft carriers) since I have changed to DCS 2.9 . I have adjusted my resolution from 4K back down to 2K, no change. I have adjusted my GPU settings, no change. I have adjusted my system settings in DCS, no change. These are photos from the DCS F-18C Instant Missions Case I Recovery. Below you can see that the sidewinder is not fully rendered. However, if I zoom in the rendering improves (2nd image). In the third image, I am 3.8 miles from the carrier, but all that is seen is the wake. The carrier should be very visible from this distance. In the fourth, image, the carrier pops into view at 3.3 miles, but not fully rendered. As I get closer, it fully renders. These images were captured after I degraded the resolution to 1440p from 4K. Obviously, that did not help the problem. My System is as follows: AMD 5950X, AMD 7900XTX GPU (and latest drivers), 32 GB RAM, 2TB Samsung 930 EVO Plus SSD, TM Warthog base w/ F-18 Grip, Warthog Split Throttle, TM TPS Rubber Pedals. All my DCS Settings are set all HIGH, I am not upscaling as I find it makes my image quality worse, but I am using MSAA 4x anti-aliasing to maintain good image quality. I would really appreciate it if someone could shed some light on what is going on.
  7. I have been finding the in the last couple of missions, the carrier (and escort ships) is invisible until very close (within 2 miles) and then in appears not fully rendered. I see the wake but not the carrier at over 2 miles away. Plus, it appears that I had to land in a crosswind?!?. What? Carrier landings are never in a crosswind. Needless to say, I spend well over an hour flying the mission just to crash on the fantail due to almost impossible landing conditions. This is not the only mission I have encountered this on. (Sorry, for the "tone" of the message, I'm just a little frustrated with the apparent bugs). Have you had any others report these problems? What can be done to fix them?
  8. Thanks for the information. I'll try going to 2160 x 3840 and see how it goes.
  9. I have an AMD 5950X CPU, AMD 7900XTX GPU, 32GB RAM, On-board Samsung EVO970 Plus 2 TB SSD, and am currently running at 1440 resolution on a 40" Visio TV, but can go to 4K. I use TIR, no VR. I downloaded the latest GPU drivers prior to starting up 2.9. Game Settings: All terrains, water, traffic, etc. are set to HIGH. The clouds are set to ULTRA. The visibility range is set to EXTREME. I have shadows set to HIGH, but SSS is OFF. Most of my sliders for Grass, Trees, etc. are set to the right of center. When I downloaded 2.9, I tried my res at 4K and turned on the FSR (for the AMD GPU) upscaling and adjusted it to fit my screen to my liking. Got on to a dogfight server and noticed that my cockpit instruments were not clear and MFDs were almost unreadable. The HUD and HMD were clear, but when I engaged another aircraft, the aircraft were ghosting terribly and even fading in and out at close range. It made dogfighting very difficult. I tried changing the res back to 1440, but the ghosting and blurry MFDs remained, basically no change. I turned the FSR off and still the same conditions. I then turned on the anti-aliasing to MSSA 4x. The ghosting went away and the cockpit cleared up. I tried the other anti-aliasing options, but only MSAA would eliminate my issues. The MSAA does not seem to impact my PC performance so far. My question is: Why would upscaling degrade my graphics?; I thought the purpose of upscaling was to improve the graphics. And why does only MSAA work to clear up my graphics issues, when I didn't need any anti-aliasing before 2.9? Is it simply a settings issues or something else? There is the jittering F2 views which is a known issue. But I am not getting the clarity and detail and I am seeing others getting.
  10. Hey, I was on your website and noticed a campaign for Enemy Within 3.0 MULTIPLAYER. It said that it was released but I do not see it anywhere. I would really to fly this as multiplayer. Do you know where I could find it.
  11. All modules. No, just one monitor.
  12. I got in a campaign and discovered that I couldn't bring up my kneeboard by pressing RShift+K. So I bound the keystrokes to my HOTAS; didn't work. I restarted the DCS; didn't work. I even tried (2) other campaigns and I had no knee board in any of them. Got any ideas what it could be?
  13. I went to REPLAY on the main DCS home page and got into the multiplayer folder and picked the latest track file. I played it and when I got to where I was in the pit, it did not record my head movements. So basically, the track is useless to watch. Does anyone know what could possibly be going on?
  14. Is there any benefit to being in a radar mode other than HFR? From the manual, the ENT (interleaved) mode combines the HFR and BFR modes. However, the manual also says that BFR is just the Raw Radar returns with no filtering and that no lock can be attained in BFR mode. So what is the benefit of ENT or BFR over HFR?
  15. I have been away from the Mirage for a good while and I was wanting to retrain and get back in the swing of things. However, when going through the COLD START training mission on DCS, the INS will not allow me to put in new coordinates into the system. I check that my right knob is set to N and then change the left knob to VEI (STBY). Next, the coordinates are given and I press the 1 button on the keypad to open the Northerly coordinate and nothing happens. I have even went to the next mission where you can look through waypoints. In this mission, the INS is fully aligned and all systems are up and running. The lessons asks to press the PREP button. When I do, nothing happens. Am I missing something, or are the missions broken?
  16. Thanks, IronMike for the info. It is most helpful. What about DCS released campaigns? Can those be "made" into multi-player as well, i.e. Zone 5, Sandworm, Fear the Bone?
  17. A friend of mine and myself are wanting to fly missions and/or campaigns as Pilot/RIO. First, are there any existing missions or campaigns that can be Pilot/RIO? If not, can they be modified in the Mission Editor to do so.
  18. Hey Dragon, I have been flying the Iron Flag mission 3. It appears to have many problems with it. BIFF will not take off until I am headed to WP3. On the second try, BIFF did the same thing, but caught up and continued the mission. However, as I was inputting WP's, the volume of BIFF and my pilot began to get more and more quiet until I could hear no dialogue (only read it). I built a new flight plan by reading what was being said. When I got to Tonopah, the instructions then stopped. I flew the remaining WP's and tried to contact Nellis Approach thru the stock ATC but no luck. I landed, parked, and shutdown. But the mission was a DRAW and not SUCCESS. Are there any solutions or workarounds for this?
  19. I have downloaded several multiplayer missions from the user files. I load them onto my server and start the server up. When a friend tries to load up the mission on my server, it will not load for him. All he gets is the loading screen with no progress bar. We have tried several user file missions with different maps and the same thing happens. Does anyone know the reason why this is happening?
  20. No, it does not seem to be module specific. I tried another module and it did the same thing. I do have TARGET software, but it does not show the rudder pedals. Only the WartHog and Throttle. What could this mean? The toe brake axis' setup correctly, oddly enough. It's just the rudder axis. Would rudder pedals have firmware? I updated the firmware not too long ago with I added the TDC mod to my throttle.
  21. Just today noticed that I could not taxi; my rudder pedals weren't working properly. I was constantly pulling to one side and or not able to steer in any functional way. I went into the controls and reassigned the rudder axis thinking that this would fix it. When I cleared the axis and let DCS reassign it, it assigns the Rudder axis to Joy_Slider1. This is the wrong axis because it does not allow the inputs to re-center when I let off the rudders. The input just stays to one side or the other: Here are the things that I have tried: 1. Checked that there was no double assignment of the axis somewhere else. There was none. 2. Deleted the DCSOpenbeta folder in Saved Games, thinking that it will rebuild the folder and fix the issue. No luck, same assignment. 3. Downloaded the latest TM TFRP drivers. Restarted the computer and the same axis was assigned. 4. Tried another module, and the axis that was assigned was the Joy_RZ axis, but it did not show inputs when I would work the pedals. When I would clear the axis and let DCS reassign it, Joy_Slider1 would be assigned instead of Joy_RZ. I even forced the Joy_RZ axis and Joy_Z axis assignments and there is no response from the rudder pedals when I work them. 5. Mechanically, the pedals look like they are in good working order. Nothing looks broken. Thing that I have noticed as odd: The Rudder Pedal column in the Axis Controls menu is label T-Pedals. Looking online, this column is labeled "Rudder Pedals" or "T- Rudder". What could be the problem?
  22. I checked my binds and had both the trigger detent and trigger mapped for the trigger. That is probably the issue. Thanks. I am now trying to find the binds to switch radar contacts so I can put them on my stick instead of going thru Jester. I it done on a video, but I can't find the binds in the pilot or RIO binds. Any ideas?
  23. I am flying the Zone 5 Campaign and noticed that when I fired a sidewinder, 2 would come off the rails. Went back to the Air-to-Air training mission and the same thing happens. I am hitting the SEAM-cage function to lock up the bandit before I shoot. Could this have something to do with it? Or is this a bug in the latest update?
  24. I have an RX 6800XT paired with a i9-9900K and TrackIR. I saw great improvement in my FPS, but I don't have VR either which loads the system down. My issue was a frame rate stutter which I finally figured out to be my monitor refresh rate (60 Hz) and GPU frame rate clashing. I found that if I adjust my GPU FPS to just shy of 60 (say, 59), the stutter disappeared. May not be the same issue you are having, but it was the bain of my existence for a long time.
