  1. The Up/Down Long and Left/Right Long commands to control altitude and heading lack the ability for fine, precise control. Maybe this could be changed so that each click of a control button moves in increments of 5. The airspeed adjustments work ok because each click of a control button changes in increments of 50.
  2. I am also having a lot of difficulty with the slew rate of the targeting cursor. I have a CH Products Pro Throttle and am using the mini-joystick. The cursor moves on its own without any input. I have tried to adjust all of the settings (deadzone, curve, saturation, etc..) but have not found a combination that improves cursor control. Does anyone have axis tune settings for the mini-joystick that may help this issue? I really don't understand what the saturation values are supposed to do. This does not have anything to do with helicopter movement, as I have been trying to hit targets with the aircraft in Active Pause mode during my training.
  3. I purchased a build from NZXT this past December 2020, which shipped with a Nvidia ZOTAC RTX 3070 TWIN EDGE OC. After a few weeks of minimal use, I noticed a small amount of artifacting on my screen (small black squares, in random locations on my screen), and then my display resolution reverted to a larger scale on reboot. I didn't know the significance of this issue at the time, so I reinstalled my Nvidia graphics drivers, and the resolution went back to normal for a while. Then a short time later my computer locked up while playing DCS and crashed. I ran the OCCT tool on reboot and the VRAM test on the graphics card failed. So, turns out the graphics card was failing. I contacted NZXT and dealt with their tech support multiple times on chat. Couldn't reach anyone on the phone. I ended up shipping my whole rig back to them to have everything checked out and the graphics card replaced. It was a big hassle dealing with their tech support and super frustrating. Many people I chatted with while trying to get my rig repaired and shipped back to me in a timely manner were clueless, and couldn't tell me the status of my rig or when it would be sent back to me. I asked to speak with a manager multiple times and a manager never contacted me. Finally after a few weeks, my rig was shipped back to me with a new graphics card and no charge to me. This time with a Nvidia MSI RTX 3070 VENTUS 2X OC. Once again after a few weeks of minimal use while playing DCS I saw artifacting on my display and the computer crashed. So there went graphics card number 2. Kaput, no bueno, piece of junk. Once again I contacted NZXT on chat after multiple conversations, It was agreed that they would send me a new 3070 in a few days after I sent them payment for the new card. I asked them to expedite the process and I hope to receive the new card today. They said that my money for the new card will be refunded once I ship the failed card back to them. They also sent me a $50 refund, as a gesture of good faith for the hassle I have been through. This time I will replace the graphics card myself instead of shipping the whole rig back. The NZXT tech support told me that Nvidia and AMD are having a lot of problems with their manufacturing process and that they have seen a lot of failed 3000 series cards. So I just wanted to share my experience with purchasing a rig build from NZXT, and am wondering if anyone else has heard about this situation or experienced failed Nvidia 3070 -> 3090 cards?
  4. I just downloaded the Huey module and have the same issue; no AI panel. Using a single monitor, no mods installed, no helios.
  5. For example, when rolling into a 30 degree bank from downwind to base, the F/A-18C tends to keep increasing the bank angle rather than staying stabilized in the 30 degree bank (in DCS). Although I am a pilot I have not flown the F/A-18C in real life, however, I have seen a real F/A-18 pilot comment on this as well.
  6. I hope they also take a look at the over-banking tendency, noticeable on the base to final turn.
  7. I am trying to get DCS to run on a new computer, but am having the following problem: I moved my backup folder > Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta to a formatted new ssd in my new computer. I then used cmd to navigate to the bin folder and ran the command DCSUpdater.exe repair, however I am getting an error message, "Cannot exactly detect the game install folder! Is it S:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin? yes or no. I don't want to choose "yes" because the install folder is not in bin it is DCS World OpenBeta. Obviously there are no registry entries for DCS since this is a new computer and I just moved my backup folder to a new drive. I tried running the DCS OpenBeta installer program but that didn't work either. Any suggestions on how to get DCS up and running?
  8. Hello, I would like some feedback on the best monitor to use with this graphics card. I am considering purchasing a 27" IPS 1440p and am wondering if this would be a good resolution for use with the 3070? Also what refresh rate would be best, 144hz or higher? I have not received my new rig yet, so haven't checked out the RTX 3070 ZOTAC TWIN EDGE OC yet. Do you think that it will provide good performance in DCS? Thanks for any help!
  9. It is my understanding that the mouse can't be used to control the Jester Menu. I would really appreciate it if the developers added this functionality, in addition to a "back" button to return to a previous Jester menu.
  10. Go to the Control Options then choose F-14B > Click on a column header (ex. keyboard) > Click on Load Profile > Navigate the file structure and choose keyboard... Do this for each column > joystick, throttle, etc.....
  11. I am also having problems with radio communications and some cockpit sounds when flying the A-10C and A-10C II. I am unable to hear my pilot voice when contacting JTAC and the JTAC never responds. I have tested this on different maps, and as I mentioned in both A-10's. When flying the F/A-18C the communications seem to work normally when communicating with JTAC. When doing the A-10C II IFFCC test, the audible sounds (female voice) are not present either. All of the flights where I have encountered these issues have been missions that I created, and have flown within the mission editor.
  12. What is the serial number of the aircraft that the DCS A-10C II is based on? In order to make realistic scenarios, what is the operational time-frame for the DCS A-10C II?
  13. Thanks for the video Matt. Nicely done. Will you please make the mission files that you use in all of your videos available for download? The mission files will be great for replicating what you demonstrate in your videos, as well as being a good starting point for creating our own scenarios. Thanks.
  14. Today's newsletter mentioned a collaboration between Varjo and DCS, and that the Varjo headsets are now supported in DCS World. Is there any additional information available about the Varjo VR headsets and their performance in DCS World? The headsets aren't cheap - around $6000
  15. Maybe the aircraft that are returning to land bases, are over their max landing weights for the carrier? Check their fuel and ordnance status.
  16. Thanks for the update Matt - I appreciate you sharing the roadmap and goals for the F/A-18C. I understand that the type of software development that Eagle Dynamics is engaged in is incredibly complex and time consuming. Things change constantly in this environment, so delays and projects taking longer than anticipated are to be expected. Since you are asking, I would prefer to see all of the flight model issues resolved, the aircraft setup feature, and the mission card completed as first priorities. Thank you.
  17. In case anyone cares, I believe that I found the issues: DCS World Added AI short-range missile Scud-B launcher into ground units of some countries (Iran, Iraq and others). It can drive, but missile is not yet functioning and does not launch. WIP In 2020 we will continue to update older DCS World units. We are currently developing the SA-5 surface-to-air missile and the SS-1 SCUD surface-to-surface missile (we still need to develop the Short-Range Ballistic Missile flight model) ...and I think the reason that the artillery wasn't firing was due to a range issue. I had the units to far away from the target. You can view range circle information for units on the F10 map.
  18. I am designing a mission that has F/A-18's tasked with taking out mobile missiles and artillery before they can fire on an airbase. The mobile equipment consists of three different groups with three units in each group. Group 1 - SCUDs Group 2 - SPH 2S3 Akatsia Group 3 - SPH 2S1 Gvozdika I have the groups moving on roads to their firing locations. At the last waypoint for each group I added a "Fire on Point" order, and placed the fire waypoint on the airbase. However, the Groups never fire on their targets. Any suggestions?
  19. I have searched the forums and the DCS website but have been unable to find information or a solution to the following problem. The install fails due to a lack of hard drive space, however, I can't find any information on the amount of space required for the 2.5.6 update. I have uninstalled several other programs in an attempt to create more hard drive space but the install still fails. How much hard drive space is required in order to install OB 2.5.6? What is the uninstall procedure for uninstalling OB DCS World and all of my modules? Does the OB download link on the DCS website contain the most current version of the Open Beta (2.5.6)? The link only says that it is 2.5. It would be helpful if the link was named with the full patch number. I am considering completely uninstalling DCS World and all of my modules and then doing a clean install of 2.5.6. Is this recommended? Thanks for any assistance. I have been unable to find answers to these questions. autoupdate_log.txt
  20. I have created a new mission in the Mission Editor, however, I am unable to load the TGP. When I right click in the Loadout Editor to load the pod on the jet, there is no option available. The only options available are Remove Payload and Remove Pylon. I have also tried changing the Task but that does not help either. I searched the forums, but was unable to find any information on this issue. What am I missing here?
  21. Please describe the purpose of CSS, and when and how it should be used. How can CSS be used for Air to Air Refueling? I have a CH Products FighterStick which is probably why I am having issues. What type of Control Stick do you use?
  22. Is there any documentation about CSS mode and how it works? The only reason we are moving the stick is because the [:] is not displaying after we click on BALT. The [:] not appearing is still the issue, and obviously a bug. I am not sure why you have flagged this as no bug.
  23. Here is a track showing some of the autopilot issues. This flight is on the Persian Gulf map. I am using the Open Beta, latest patch. F-18 Autopilot Issues.trk
  24. I am having the same issue as well. Also, when BALT finally shows the [:], the aircraft does not seem to hold altitude for long, and will start a slow descent. I have noticed similar issues with ATT hold. Overall the autopilot functionality seems very buggy.
  25. Thanks for today's update Matt. I will be interested in hearing more about the precise waypoint input mode as well as the other new features. Wishing you well, and hoping that you return to good health and full strength soon.
