Thanks for your reply - with the settings I posted, heading hold does not work. What are the proper settings to get heading hold to work? I have turned off and then back on - the yaw autopilot and also reset trim, but it still doesn't work. "Another option you can use (which is closest to how it works in reality) is if you have foot brakes on your pedals. You remap your axis to heading hold button and fly it." Sorry I am not sure what you mean. I do have toe brakes on my pedals. After mapping this are you saying to press toe brakes to get heading hold?

I am re-learning the Mi-24P and having a lot of difficulty. I have read through this thread a few times, but am still having trouble with the special settings and understanding what is going on with the helicopter. Some of the settings seem redundant and contradictory. Why hasn't a manual been released that describes all of the special settings in detail? This module has been out for over 4 years and no manual has been released! This should be considered totally unacceptable by Eagle Dynamics. It would be very helpful if there was an option to return all of the settings to default. I uninstalled and then re-installed the module but it kept my special settings. I want to have the heading hold enabled for cruise flight between waypoints, but also want to have full control of the pedals when maneuvering. Attached is a screenshot of my settings; are these correct for what I want?

Once you open the comms menu, use your mouse to click on F10 and F1.

The " \ " key is just the comms menu. Maybe you can map the comms key to something that works for you.

Press the " \ " key, then F10 then F1 to disable the white card.

Thanks, however excluding a larger folder from an anti-virus scan is not good security practice.

I couldn't install the latest update because of the Heatblur Anti-virus issue. Also I can't login to DCS when using the launcher to start the game.

I have searched the manual as well as YouTube, however, I can't find any instructions on how to use the radios in the CH-47F. I have tried different settings on the Emergency/Auxiliary Control Panel, the Control Audio Panels, and checked the CDU functionality. This thread really doesn't help either. Nothing works. Any ideas?

So I can't tell Bob to make a turn? I have to do it myself by moving the cyclic in the direction I want to go, and hold it until I am ready to roll out on the heading that I want to use?

The manual says that the player can control Bob by moving the cyclic and collective. However, when I use the cyclic to start a right bank as soon as I release the stick Bob levels out. Did the last patch affect Bob or am I not understanding how the AI works?

Yes, I found the information in the manual also. I guess it was setup this way in order to allow the AI to takeoff and fly the aircraft.. No issues with the right engine in idle. I did have problems with this before, if you look further up in this Thread. I fixed it by re-setting my throttles in the Virpil Software.

Why is the WSO Startup Lesson taking place on the runway? There is a destroyed Chinook on the taxiway and other aircraft holding short of the runway.

Yes there is a lever on each throttle that needs to be pressed in order to move the throttle from cutoff to idle. Similar to a real jet. However, that lever is not mappable. So in the Virpil software I have to map axis to buttons (physical to logical) so that DCS will recognize the throttle movement. Yes, Virpil software documentation sucks. You need a PhD in Engineering to figure this stuff out.

Both throttles are set to Slider, but it is not making any difference as far as I can tell.

Here is a screenshot of how the in-game throttles look when my left throttle is in cutoff and my right throttle is at idle. Is this what you guys are seeing with your setups?

I am using a Virpil VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle. I have had a very difficult time getting the Throttle to recognize idle/cutoff and afterburner. I thought I finally had it set correctly, but apparently not. I will go back an try to adjust my settings in the Virpil Software.

Jester still does not reply when asked to connect external power. The canopy is open and the power cart is nearby so why doesn't he respond? He is obviously within a distance where he can hear voice commands. I thought a lot of work was done on Jester according to the latest patch notes, however, I am still seeing issues with him.

@BIGNEWY Yes, please ask the Developers to integrate Tobii into DCS. I have tried VR but have given up with that for now, I have tried TrackIR and am not happy with that either, so it looks like Tobii is the best way to go while flying in DCS.

Does Eagle Dynamics have plans to integrate Tobi Eye Tracker into DCS?

Here is a Track of the issue. It is a long Track and the problem shows up right at the end (I quit the mission when I saw the problem). I am flying the F-4E heading toward 2 Mirage F1CE parked on a ramp at an airport on Cyprus. You can see the labels as I approach but then they disappear. I went to F10 Map view to confirm, and they were gone. F-4E Cyprus Mission F1CE disappear.trk

Here are a couple of additional issues that I noticed recently: I have some screen shots attached that show the problems. I am having a difficult time understanding what is meant by the underlined text in my screen shots. The sentences don't make sense to me, and I am not sure how to apply this in-game. Also please don't use acronyms without fulling explaining what they mean. On the third screen shot - the steps are out of order.

It was a long mission, and I noticed this problem toward the end. I did not know that it was an issue, and mentioned on the forum, until long after the mission was over. I will try to get a track next time.
