  1. I did some trial runs using the runway bombs. I found 500ft is too low for the rockets to do their job. I did a few runs at 1000ft, 1500ft, 2000ft and 2500ft. All in auto mode using the targeting pod to mark the first release mode for all 4 bombs to drop 700ft apart. I found the 2000ft drop let the chit open and slow the bomb to a vertical angle and then the rockets boosted all the way extinguishing the motor just before impact. 500ft the rocket hardly kicks in before impact
  2. Ok thanks heaps for the your reply, that helps

    INS

I have some question about INS 1. It seems that the drift with INS moves a lot in a fairly short amount of time, I realise it also depends on how much turning you do but I can take-off and conduct a fairly simple nav exercise and once I return to the airfield using the approach system the waypoint is way off from the runway. is this right? 2. When I return back to the airfield in bad weather with poor visibility It seems strange to have to come down very low level to have to over fly the runway to update the INS position for the runway so that I can then conduct a instrument approach. Doesn’t that defeat the point of the instrument approach as I have had to overfly the runway at a very low level to get accuracy anyway. Is there another way I can get a position update? 3. With the INS+GPS Turned on how come there is still so much drift? If GPS is also updating position shouldn’t there be almost no drift? Thanks
  4. Sweet thanks for the reply. You mentioned the F-16, do we know if ED is going to equip the F-16 with 8x JSOW’s also?
  5. Hello all I have been using the AGM'154's a lot lately which has sparked interest for me to read up on the weapon on the internet. as usual I got side tracked and noticed on the website that it said the F-18 can only carry 4x JSOW's. Now I know the website I was on more then likely had no actual fact to its information so I began looking for Pictures of other websites showing or stating that the F-18 can in fact carry 8x JSOW's like we can in DCS. however no matter what website I went to or what pictures I could find I came up with absolutely nothing showing the F-18 can carry more then 4. I found a photo showing a copy of a diagram from what looks to be like a formal military manual with a loadout list showing they can only be carried in singles not Dual rack but this could also be outdated as it was a hard copy. can anyone lead me in the right direction showing the F-18 carrying more then 4 JSOW's?
  6. Hell no that’s weird as, but me that doesn’t fly f-14’s is never going to argue against a proven real life f-14 pilot or pilots as there are 3 in the conversation. However go back to the original question the F-14’s almost never flew with drop tanks. Again real F-14 pilots publicly starting they never flew without.
  7. I found this link with real life F-14 pilots. It was super easy to find too maybe 30second but you want to go to 14:30 and they will talk about your fuel tanks never coming off except for trial runs. Don’t think of me giving you this advise but more real life F-14 pilots which would have more credit then heat blur. Super interesting your a aircraft engineer. Amazing how many of you guys come out when you need to argue a point. Anyway after your stress pill here’s the link https://www.fighterpilotpodcast.com/episodes/042-f-14-tomcat/ I recommend listening to all of it as a great listen. But so your ego survives a little long if you want to speak to heatblur only and not have someone from the community answer something for you which happens to prove you wrong maybe message heatblur directly. Your ego will survive longer not sorry if this seems rude just the way it is
  8. Could someone explain why I would use the new digital clock the was installed? Or example of how to utilise it. They went through the trouble of developing it so it must have a useful purpose right
  9. If you listen to the fighter pilot pod cast with the F-14 guys, which is very awesome to listen to. But they say they never flew without the external fuel tanks to the point they actually wielded the tanks to the F-14. Including the A model
  10. That due to the radar picking up the same target. The missile needs to approach from a different angle. I normally fire one missile the turn 90 degrees left or right and travel for about 20sec then turn back in and fire the second one.
  11. I do a lot of anti-ship attacks on servers and now it’s becoming pointless. Only carry 2 missile and the travel time for no results it making it pointless. Each update the JF-17 is becoming weaker and weaker. This jet which is my favourite is being killed. I’m starting to lean to going back to the other jets. Has anyone tried the LD-10’s yet? The update suggest they have also been downgraded?
  12. I’m sure this is something completely obvious but DLZ?
  13. Interesting, I see your point about slowing down as to make less Doppler. I usually keep high speed to make large leads for the missile, as if cranking in case notching doesn’t work out. I will have to try this out. Thanks
  14. Yeah but I bet they have now put all the other missiles very far down their list. We won’t see anything for the other missile for a long time. I’ll be surprised if we see any Russian missile get any upgrade this year. And they could fix the GOD like aim-120 that is completely resistant to any type of countermeasure and manoeuvre. That missile never and I mean NEVER stops track you even when you are in a perfect notch and dropping a ton of chaff in any situation that missile can never be tricked in anyway it is literally completely resistant to anything even physics. Plus the Aim-120 is getting a further improvement on it guidance system. How do you improve What is already completely perfect.
  15. Apologies for the confusion the original post I should be have a little more detail, So I have had 2 hard points fail at 5g from memory I think I has the GB-6 on each point. Which I’m not really fussed about as I could probably understand as to that would be a lot of weight being forced down. But the part I’m think is most under rated are the rudder and FCS systems failing never exceeding 4.7g. I will try and replicate like you asked. Cheers P.s anyone reading this, this should not be a turn off the JF-17 is easily in the top 3 best modules for DCS IMO
  16. Just the stores fail. But only on or 2 hard points. I suspected accumulated stress but still seem too little g’s to be getting such failures. This could be totally accurate and I have too high expectations?
  17. The JF-17 seems to break too easy. I have noticed this more sense the new update. Today I broke the rudder to where it was always pulling to the hard right, I trimmed it as far as it would go left but it was still hard rudder right with a max flight g of 4.7g’s. In another flight the FCS failed with a max 5.2 g. These seem to be small g rating for a modern aircraft to be getting failures. Hard points fail at 5g. This could be accurate I have no idea, seems a little too easy for failures tho I think. The F-14 and JF-17 are both the best modules yet. thanks for your work.
  18. Does anyone know what the squiggly line going around the screen is all about in the F-14 LANTIRN pod videos
