  5. I think the wakes works sort of a texture displacement thats why they are uniform, in order to add realistic wake they would have to rework all the water, that not gonna happen soon i think.
  6. I dont know if your question about textures was answered in previous posts, but it is Diffuse file and Metal rougness file which define Metalness Roughness and AO in RGB channels. (DCS PBR standart)

  8. Odyssey is not that great.
  9. I tried Odyssey, but gave it back. Still find the resolution too low to feel comfortable enough in DCS. Things are blurry, you can't read all the info on MFCD. At this moment Odyssey's resolution starts to be sufficient for warbords with big guages and robust feel.
  10. Once they are happy with Beta they update Stable branch with the code in Open Beta. And they continue to modify/improve/add stuff in OB branch. OB and Stable are parallel branches but OB is the most advanced one but has more bugs.
  11. Just wait few minutes when you have aircraft selection window in MP, and monitor your RAM increase. In few minutes it will stop and game would not lag. It is lagging because it processing file into RAM once it is done the framerate becomes good. It is normal since the game is doing it in background instead giving us a long loadscreen.

AO is a range between 0 (black pixels) and 1 (white pixels) so the way it works is that AO channel is multiplied by Other channels Metalness and Roughness and Diffuse (Albedo/ Color) So when you have AO = Full black= 0 you are multiplying something by ZERO which means ZERO as a result that's why you have full black in the end. So even if you have something really bright red fpr exemple red glossy paint in diffuse channel so RED would be near value of 0.95 (almost 1 full red) You will end up with 0.95*0=0 equals FULL BLACK So it is actually unrealistic to have full black AO, there are no such material in a world that would have pure black color.
  13. I think they dont fix it for the moment because it is not in the priority list, 2.5 is "freshly" out on the ED's scale. So i am sure that will be fixed sooner or later but at the moment F18 and Persian Gulf should go first and IN TIME since that will bring a lot of cash in to the bank and new users. Once that rush period passed they will try to improve the lighting system and fixing bugs everywhere.
