  1. Just got my CV1 yesterday, unfortunately I can't fly with it yet since I am building a new computer to run VR (decided to wait for the 1080 when it comes out later this month). As I wait to start flying in VR, I put together a virtual Cruise video for the Pukin' Dogs in my sim pit (FSX VRS). I expect to see a lot more of these once DCS releases the F/A-18C, which I hope to also create. [ame] [/ame]
  2. Thanks JAR for the update! As a fellow ball flyer I am glad to hear you are liking the CV1 behind the boat. I look forward to any details you can provide as you get more time in the rift. As you know, when you are on the "other side" waiting for your shipment, it is great to hear how people are enjoying the experience, especially when they have similar interest (carrier aviation and Hornet pit building) The changes you made to your hornet pit (pretty awesome build by the way) make me believe it is definitely an awesome upgrade. Looking forward to my first pass behind the boat using the CV1! CAPT
  3. JAR, How is it flying with the CV1 around the carrier environment? Are you able to make out the "ball" at 3/4 of a mile with the CV1 resolution (is it clear and are trends noticeable)? Is it easier to fly the CASE I approach pattern and how is the 3D aspect of the carrier approach? Have you tried night passes CASE III? Thanks for any insights into using the CV1 around the carrier (waiting for shipment May 29th). CAPT
  4. Here is an old photo that shows the curved screen when I first setup. I use a BenQ 1080 projector and Nthusim to warp the image onto the curve. Here is a video if that helps. [ame] [/ame]
  5. Here's my F/A-18E pit (FSX) which I plan to switch to DCS F/A-18C when released. But I also am getting the OR CV1 on May 25th, so that may change plans.
  6. Has anybody tested CV1 in the carrier landing environment? I am very curious to know how it feels flying the CASE I pattern around the boat, and if and when you can see the Meatball, or IFOFLS using the CVN 77 mod? Is the ball and datum lights clear at 3/4 of a mile? How about night carrier landings, any impact from the Fresnel "HALO" effect? I thought it is funny we are using Fresnel lenses in the CV1 to see a simulated Fresnel lens (meatball) on the CV1 approach :megalol: I am waiting for my CV1 (update on shipping tomorrow), and carrier ops will be one of the first things I will be testing out and looking forward to doing. Thanks for all the updates and reviews.
  7. Dale is my good friends Uncle. My friend followed the same path, Hornet and Rhino pilot. I've met Dale a couple times, and he was active in the simulation world in the past. He supported a FSX venture to compete in virtual carrier landings, called Top Gun missions. The venture didn't take off, and I think there was a lot of cheating so they shut it down. If DCS or LNS needs help contacting him, I am happy to help. CAPT
  8. I don't know if this has been posted yet in the forums, but you can direct your pilot to walk around after safely ejecting. pretty cool  You control the pilot using your joystick, directing him where to go, don't know what you are supposed to do with this feature, walk back to base, or escape from the enemy. I tried seeing if I could fire anything, like a hand gun, but all you can do is walk around. Anyways thought I would share since it just shows again the level of detail in the game. If this is old news or a common feature in combat sims, sorry for my ignorance:smilewink:.
  9. Hey Goon, any luck? I also use GF, and I want to incorporate the GF hardware into the DCS sim. I've heard that GF did work with LOMAC, is this true? Anyone know if GF or DCS are working on a interface? Cheers
