  1. I am not familiar at all with the real Viggen so I can't argue with the above and if the simulation's realistically depicting how the HUD "behaves" against a bright background then be it - but I have a VERY hard time seeing stuff on it due to the awful readability even with brightness set to max. Very difficult to deliver a precision strike when a key component is basically useless due to a limitation.
  2. No, still no mirrors.
  3. Maybe the upcoming patch on Friday?
  4. Looking forward to it very much. I really wanna love this module, the Viggen is one of my favourite aircraft and the Heatblur representation has a massive potential: it looks fantastic and is generally speaking very good but at the same time, has annoying bugs and missing features, lacking basic animations etc that ruin the overall experience. I am sincerely hoping they will be sorted in due course.
  5. Let's hope it's also improved for the upcoming patch, the HUD is almost unreadable against bright background, making operations very difficult.
  6. Hey, thanks for your response! Good to know that mirrors are coming!
  7. In just four days the sheer amount of bugs and missing features is crazy. No mirrors? I mean it works in all of my modules but the Viggen has nothing but an ugly grey texture.
  8. Will do, thanks! Didn't know there's a repair available, but I found it now!
  9. Hi! Ten minutes ago, when starting Open Beta, it offered an update. I went ahead and the update started, files downloading etc. However, towards the end of the update an error message did pop up and since then I cannot start the game. The below error message was generated. What am I supposed to do? I already had this once, two weeks ago after an update: back then I removed and completely reinstalled everything but I do not wanna spend long hours with a full reinstall. Is there a known solution? 00000.014 --- Log file: C:\Users\kityatyi\AppData\Local\Temp\DCS.openbeta\autoupdate_templog.txt 00000.000 === Log opened UTC 2018-07-04 14:37:02 00000.008 INFO : DCS_Updater/2.9.2.69 (Windows NT 10.0.17134; Win64; en-US) 00000.008 INFO : cmdline: "E:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS_updater.exe" 00000.011 STATUS: Initializing... 00000.013 INFO : basedir: E:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta 00000.013 INFO : dcs_variant.txt: openbeta 00000.014 INFO : DCS/2.5.2.18736.400 (x86_64; EN; WORLD,POLYCHOPSIM_SA342,FA-18C,UH-1H,MIG-21BIS,RAZBAM_AV8BNA,MI-8MTV2,AJS37,A-10C) 00000.014 INFO : branch: openbeta 00000.015 INFO : Skipping update check, only 0.1 hours passed since the last one. 00000.015 INFO : DCS/2.5.2.18736.400 (x86_64; EN; WORLD,POLYCHOPSIM_SA342,FA-18C,UH-1H,MIG-21BIS,RAZBAM_AV8BNA,MI-8MTV2,AJS37,A-10C) 00000.015 INFO : branch: openbeta 00000.015 ERROR: Can't run E:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin/DCS.exe: (2) The system cannot find the file specified. 00143.734 === Log closed.
  10. It might sound like nitpicking but it is exactly the lack of animation in the knob that bothers me. But I guess it might change with further updates.
  11. It would be nice if knob moved. Such basic function, in a high fidelity sim it's a must. The uge amount of non clickable switches remind me of non clickable cockpit modules.
  12. After messaging the guy who recorded the video linked in the previous post I can now confirm that he does experience the exact same problem on their MP server: the eyepoint of the Viggen is messed up, it is too low and too much close to the instrument panel. Exactly this is what I experienced on another server. No other module does this, only the Viggen. Very strange and quite annoying, in fact it makes is undesirable to fly the aircraft on the given server which is a huge inconvenience,
  13. I get what you mean - but see it differently. As long as the title is EA, I can't complain though and I am hoping that Heatblur are gonna sort these issues out.
  14. Thank you kindly!
  15. I am wondering if the Hornet is able to automatically switch to the next waypoint once the actual one is reached? It doesn't seem to work on my end. Whenever I reach let's say W1, I manually need to switch to W2.
  16. As a customer I do not really care about the size of the studio and the business and market in general. As long as other developers managed to deliver a fully clickable, just as complex (if not more) high end product without the aforementioned issues or lack of functionality it is a fair expectation from this developer too since the price tag is basically the same. The Viggen is on the market for a year and a half yet basic stuff such as essential animations are missing. Half of the switches are dummy including switches that otherwise have a function but the actual switch isn't clickable. I don't know the company therefore I can't say I trust them. I see what I believe. What I see is a product that was released a year and a half ago and is full of dummy switches despite being a high fidelity module - lacking so basic animations such as the toe brake and the radar stick and many, many more. Let's see if the developers have any intention addressing the above issues before the module gets out of Early Access. If not, then this was my first and last purchase from Heatblur.
  17. The whole aircraft is full of non clickable and/or non animated switches and knobs. Just look at the flight stick and the radar stick. Full of knobs and switches yet only a very, very few are clickable/animated.
  18. Although I wouldn't be this harsh, I have to admit I am disappointed too. Overall a great potential in this module but there are so many areas it is lacking. So many - unlike in other high fidelity modules - non functional switches. Also, many switches that are actually functional are non clickable and not animated. I mean how is that possible that the toe brake is not animated? Seriously. And the radar stick. And the countermeasures release knob. And the magnetic declination knob. And many more. If it was on release day, I'd say, alright, just came out. But the product is available for more a year now and these obvious things have not even been touched. And instead of getting this one right first, the team already shifted focus onto the F-14. So far, not impressed.
  19. And many, many other knobs and switches. These really need to be addressed.
  20. Is the toe brake not animated? Or is it just something problematic on my end? In general I noticed that there are way too many non functional knobs and switches and also a high number of functional but not animated ones such as the radar control stick, the pedal (toe) brakes as well as the Magnetic Declination knob on the right side panel. Are these gonna be addressed later during the Early Access? Obviously there are switches completely needless or impossible to implement within the confines of DCS so it is understandable if some of them are non functional but in this and only this modules (among the ones that I own) there is a very high number of such switches and knobs. As for the lack of animation, however, it would be very disappointing if switches, knobs, sticks, pedals etc are left without animation, including so obvious ones such as the toe brake (or the radar stick) just to name a couple.
  21. Why is the radar control stick not moving? Please make them animated, it's quite unrealistic that it's nothing but a static piece.
  22. I experienced it on the HUNAF Virtual Hungarian Air Force server only so far, plus I noticed something similar in the below video (although this could be his own TrackIR settings). Go to 19:00 in the video and watch for roughly a minute. Once again, this could be a different thing though - my issue is really an odd one, that NEVER happens offline, never happened on any other server either, only on that one, but there it happens 100% of the time.
  23. Need to check this but if it's the case that's quite a cheap solution, a bit disappointing. Also, the radar control stick is lacking animation. Hopefully these will be addressed.
  24. Do you mean one can use it but it's not animated inside the cockpit?
