Cause it should not get smaller the closer u get. Closer, please don't confuse with zoom. Like anything behaves is the whole universe: If i get closer, the object becomes bigger for u.
-
Yes, thats a huge BUG: The position of the fix switch is taken from mission to mission. How you left it before, the next mission will start with. If u leave the viggen in T1, T1 is activated, if u reload the mission. Create a mission, where u start off the runway. Load the mission -> LS is shown Switch to T1 -> ES is flashing End the mission Reload the mission -> ES is flashing Switch to T0 -> LS is shown End the mission Reload the mission -> LS is shown So, the LAST state is taken over. Maybe not, if I restart DCS. And if it handles TV the same way, ur navigation is messed up by starting the mission in TV, if airborne @start? But I think the developers should debugg this behavior. Regards
-
I figured out, that is has something to do with T0. The Viggen does not start with T0 at any time, when entering the cockpit. And it has something to do, what u did before. Somehow the parameter is taken over from what u did in the mission before. Or how it can be, that I enter the cockpit and an E is flashing? In T0 it can't flash, I thought? And, if I think further, maybe the Viggen starts in the Air maybe in T1?? And what happens, if u press in NAV Mode, with Radar in A0? U fix ur own position. And maybe that's why, my mission started in the Air with a flashing E and I couldnt pass waypoints anymore? Regards Vannipo

Ok, if it's just a screen behind a lens.... Then the Screen in the DCS behaves wrong. But maybe it's done like this, cause else you wont see anything in the sim.
-
Of course, it is. I have a small navigation-start-landing mission, which I run from ME anytime. I found out, that this has something to do with the manual radar fix and pressing TV Fix, T0, T1 in wrong modes. But clearing the offsets, like described on page 264 wont work. I dont get the waypoints back to initial position. Sometimes the mission starts with and ES, sometimes with an LS.

Ok, right now, it behaves like this: If you move your head towards the EP-13, the image remains the same size relative to your FOV. That means, it's scaled smaller relative to world scale. Maybe the texture, or the grid itself. I don't know. With this behavior it's not possible to see more by moving the head towards the EP-13, only by zooming you get more detail. And a VR Zoom isn't that far as in 2D. The question is, again and again :D In Reality, is it a Screen in this round hole, or is it a lens mirror thing, like u watch through a DSLR-Camera? Regards Vannipo
-
Yeah, as I said: "I don't know how it works in Realitiy". I can just try to ask again: Is it a screen in reality or a lens mirror-thing. Like if u watch through DSLR-Camera?

Hello. I recognized a strange behavior, or I just don't know how to get the Nav-System back to "autoswitch-mode", when passing a waypoint. While flying, if I switch one time to RB75 and back, the Nav-Computer doesn't switch to the next Waypoint anymore, if I pass the actual one. If I do nothing with the weapon selector during the whole flight, the NAV System switches the to the next waypoint automaticly. I dont know, whether its somethig about switching to the EP-13/RB75, or it just by moving the weapon selector... Is there a way to get it back to the usual waypoint-autoswitch-mode? Regards PS. Even reloading from Datacardridge has no effect.

Anything more to say, than "agree with that?" I dont know, but noone cares, if u agree. This is just a kiddie behavior.... So, in the real aircraft, the pilots head movement is tracked and the picture scales smaller if u move the head towards the EP-13? I dont know, whether it bhaves like watching through a DSLR Camera. Do u know how it behaves in VR? U fly in VR?

I figured out the VR zoom is the "problem" cause u can't zoom in as much as in 2D. That's why u can't lock targets far away in VR. Or very bad. What I do right now is, to pan down a bit and click lock again and again, and the RB75 will snap to a target. But this is hard, if u need a special target of maybe 3. If there is a way to "enhance" the VR zoom to a closer zoom... maybe in a lua file? Maybe someone knows that? And a better Contrast (the commands are already there), if possible Btw: I reality the EP-13 isn't just a screen? Is it a mirror-thing (like in DSLR cameras)? Do real pilots move one eye directly in front of it? Like watching through a DSLR-Camera? If it is a screen, I think, if u move ur head towards it, u gonna see more detail? But in the DCS-Viggen, the "picture" remains in size relative to ur distance. Only Zoom gives me better detail But how u can zoom in reality? Or it's an analog old school mirror-reflection-thing :D I dont know Regards

Nice!!! One suggestion: Use more modifyer keys on your left hand and do all with your right hand. With this setup, u wont need a keyboard anymore while in flight. E.g.: Press one modifyer-Key on ur throttle and use all the buttons on ur right hand, to configure this "mode". Frequencies, Channels, Volumes, Modes... All controls concerning communication. Just an example. U can handle Weapons like this... E..g. RB75 Mode: Make one position of a 3-way-switch on your left hand to a modifyer key. Than activate correct radar mode, choose weapon mode, TV Fix, etc. with your right hand. With the modifyer key pressed, u completely have new buttons which can be mapped on the right hand and/or left hand. That all works of course the other way round. Great modifyer key on the right hand are S3 and S4. In this case, u have a complete range of new buttons on the left hand and or right hand Regards! PS. I tune all volumes and cockpit lights (if provided for an axis) with the rudder-axis of my joystick. Just by pressing the correct mod-key on my keyboard (i don't have a HOTAS) On ground I switch my driving pedals (clutch and gas) from rudders to left/right brake with a mod-key. A Cougar is nice anyway.

Ah ok. If this is realistic. Sorry. I didn't know. It looked like an unfinished solution. But moving the camera towards the EP-13 won't work, I think. The image remains small. And u cant see really much detail. Right now, the only possibility to see more, is to move the head upwards, while zooming with VR Zoom Key. The bad thing about this is, that I have to waste one finger for holding the GUI-Layer-VR-Zoom-Key at the same time, I have to find and lock the targets. Maybe I just need some more practice... Or maybe its possible, U add a VR-Zoom-Toggle (instead of hold key) command to the viggen...? If that is possible... I dont know, cause VR Zoom is in The GUI-Layer-Setting. Not in the mods themselves. Regards Vannipo

Thank u very much for the link to this tool. Additionally I can use my car Pedals as ruder, cause I can combine them now!!

Wow, 1.5 years EA. Not bad. So, please: sort the controls in categories correctly in the settings make the controls working u offer in the settings (like wheel brake axis, EP-13 contrast) offer more controls assignable to axes (e.g. all rotating buttons) let us offset the EP-13-View (its not possible to watch through HUD and EP-13 at the same time) get this bird out of alpha Kneeboard fixes After reading this forum, I realized that I bought an EA product which isn't moving any further since 1.5 years... When u will finish the Viggen? U need more money? More time? I dont know the problem, but it's time to finish this product, guys pay 60 bucks for.

Knob for EP-15 sight brightness missing?
Vannipo replied to Fisherman82's topic in Bugs and Problems
Key assignments to EP-13 brightness / contrast don't work, too. -
Better to use e.g. TV-Fix on Joystick buttons like: LShift + Joy-BTN1 No good idea to lock targets in fight with CTRL+SHIFT+T :)

Can anyone of the developers care of this problem or any? I mean, it's past 1.5 YEARS. And old problems still exist. Basics. Pls fix the basics first. in VR it looks like this: Either u can look through the HUD, or the EP-13. But not through both at he same time. Is there a way to offset this little image in the EP-13? Maybe in a lua-script? Or pls add the possibilty to offset this thing ingame... Thank you.

It would be nice, if the mission editor would have some hotkeys for e.g.: Switching from "Add waypoint" to "remove/modify-Waypoint" Switching through the unit members Switching all units Moving with CTRL-Key the unit with all its waypoints. Except fixed ones. The first click on a unit shouldnt move it. Maybe UNDO? I mean, just to make the mission Editor more handy and fast. Regards Vannipo

+1 Any time "Settings -> Audio -> Volume Slider down and up again?" Hmmm, no, this is not handy. Pls add an audio option "Disable Music in the ME" on/off. Reagrds Vannipo

"Negative" My thoughts in this moment: What the f.... U f.... don't see this guy behind me and 0.2NM away from you? What the hell is wrong with you? Please, JUST RTB! Again: Me: "Wingman: Attack Air-Targets" Him: "Negative" 10 seconds later, I already got two 3 bullets in my ass: "Bandit, 11 o'clock." My thoughts in this moment: Oh really? You MEAN 6 o'clock from MY POV since 5 minutes? ----------- Ok, am I doing something wrong or is it the wingman? Can I expect, if I shoot on enemies, my wingman recognizes that? I think, yes :D I think, if u are in a fight, ur wingman should be always in the state "There are enemies around" and never give the anwser "negative (I dont see enemies right now)" wtf "negative"? Wingman, move ur head around and see what is happening. "And please don't dont forget, what u saw 20 seconds ago. The enemy, u have reported, hasn't disappeared. He is still here anywhere, believe me..." :D What are ur experiences with ur wingman? Regards Vannipo

Hello ED-Team! I fly in VR. And, those who do it like me, know about the problem of eye pain, if trying to read small grafix and letters. So, if I am handling with DCS, I start DCS without VR, do all stuff I need to do on screen, then close DCS and open it back again in VR-Mode (with params in the shortcut) and load the mission and start flying. That takes much time. Closing and reopening again in VR. Again and again. Just to avoid watching the mission editor too long in VR. It would be nice, if you could do all the menue stuff on Screen and just put ur HMD on, if you start flying. I don't understand, why U don't do it like many other sims: Seperate the flying and the menue GUI in two different .exe-Files. Or make it possible to see the "menue" complete and flat on screen like in other titles. Right now, I have a squeezed picture in the middle of my screen. Or just put the mission editor in an extra .exe. Editing and saving there, loading the mission in DCS or just klick in the ME on the "Fly Mission" button and make DCS in the background loading that mission and start flying. That would save us VR-Polits much well-eye-feeling-capacity. Regards! Pierre

Hello ED-Team! Pls add the possibility to assign joystick buttons to commands like "Com menue up" "Com menue down" "Com menue select" "Com menue back" Background: I fly in VR. Its very hard to find these long range of F-Keys with ur fingers. Commands like F1->F2->F2 are easy to hit, but commands with F9/F10... are difficult. Edit: It would be great in 2D anyway...

Hello ED-Team! It would be very nice, if there is an option where you can combine two axes to one axis. With that option, guys with driving pedals could use these two axes (e.g. gas and clutch) as rudder. With the TM-Pedals-Driver, it is possible. There's an option. But, with some not. Kind regards Pierre
-
I can confirm, that 2-wheels braking with one axis is not possible right now. I mean, ok, early access, but... we are talking about wheel brakes, nothing special... And I do it on all planes like you: I brake in all planes, I own, with one brake pedal. Except @ rolling with old machines. In this case, I use the WIN-Key and brake with clutch and gas pedal, which are similar. Under my desk, I have a Fanatec Pedal set with 3 pedals. But no rudders. @the creators: Please fix it :)
