  1. ok, thank you guys!
  2. wasn't there supposed to be an expansion of the caucasus region?
  3. it makes sense, maybe it was in my face all this time. :P thank you!
  4. so, is it normal that clouds turn when you turn your head?
  5. hello everyone, since i'm flying in VR, i would like to have shadows only in the cockpit. all other shadows could be turned off... buildings, trees, aircrafts, anything. is this possible by editing some file? thanks in advance!
  6. yeah, i'm on an 1150 chipset, so it would have to be an i7 4990 or something like that. unless i buy a new mobo, which is probably the right thing to do.
  7. yeah, i'm sure that's the case here. so, if i upgrade my CPU to an i7, will that make much difference?
  8. fps in those situations is usually above 90, but sometimes it dips into the 80s and that makes these stutters happen. alt+enter? i tried to run with full screen on/off in the settings and it makes no difference... remember i'm flying in VR. fxo and metashader2 files? no idea what those are. nvidia settings are "prefer maximum performance" and "1 pre-rendered frames". problem is not new after new update or anything... i've had it for more than a year now at least... always happened to me in VR... but it happens without VR too, as you can see in that trailer i posted. it's winter time down here in south america. the stutters happen all the time, flying in any direction, but mostly noticeable if i look to the side of the chopper, as terrain flies faster in the sides. :) v-sync on/off makes no difference. did not try to set any limits to framerate.
  9. to me, this looks like a flaw in the way DCS handles frame drops. the way i perceive it during the game, it's not like my FPS is low, but the game stutters. there are times when the FPS is actually low and that stutter does not happen. it's so weird.
  10. latest update for mine is from 2016 :D
  11. i thought preload would help with not having to load the map into memory all the time. i tried it at minimum, 10000 and maximum, but it doesn't help with it. also, i have an SSD. not using vsync or anything, as i play in VR (oculus)... what do you mean by "incorrect"? i play in VR, so it is annoying... kills a lot of the immersion. nvidia is all on default settings, except for power management at "prefer maximum performance" and pre-rendered frames at 1.
  12. sorry, i thought maybe there was something really obvious. i have an i5 4690 @ 3.5GHz, 16GB of RAM and a GTX 1070... everything on off/low/minimum. preload is at maximum (15000 iirc). if i turn shadows from off to low, it's enough to trigger that. but as you can see, even the people from ED that made that trailer have this issue.
  13. in mission editor, you right click and drag to pan the view. in the editor, you left click for that. in the mission editor, you middle click to use the ruler. in the editor, you have to enable it and then use right click to use it. why aren't these two views consistent?
  14. hi everyone, other than lowering my graphics settings until i get rid of this stuttering, what else can i do? in this video (0:41), you can see that the terrain stutters while passing by, like moving in chunks from time to time. do you experience this too? in VR, it's a big immersion killer. thanks in advance for any feedback!
  15. hi everyone, it's almost end of 2019, are we getting any news on this? :)
  16. thanks for sharing! really hoping to try the flying tank soon! :joystick:
  17. well, i guess that the "controls indicator" option only works when combined with this other checkbox in the specials tab.
  18. hi everyone, i've been away for some time and i can't remember anymore how to do this. how do i make the control input indicator appear automatically without having to press CTRL+ENTER every time i enter an aircraft? is it through autoexec.cfg or a script for each aircraft? thanks in advance!
  19. hey guys! which startup procedure should i trust? the manual completely ignores the right panel levers, while the in-game training gives them a lot of importance. just before pressing the startup button, the manual says i should set the primer to "pipeline fill" mode and shows a screenshot where it is turned 90 degrees to the left, but you can't do that... it only has 3 positions and none is turned all the way to the left like the manual shows. also, why do they insist on turning the circuit breaker switches on and off several times? why not turn them on once and go ahead with everything else? another thing that i wish is that there were more explanatory instructions, telling why you are doing something before doing something else... all those details that maybe only a few will ever know. :)
  20. that's very nice, and in line with what AcroGimp said above. ;) thank you guys!
  21. can you replicate that exact technique in DCS? i've been trying and it's kind of 8 or 80 for me... it either doesn't turn or completely overreacts.
  22. oh, that's so simple... i wish i knew the basics before posting such dumb questions. thank you!
  23. yeah, my stick does not have an axis... guess i'll use something in the throttle for that. i figured that out very quickly, but i still don't get why the brakes make it easier to steer? maybe because of the weight transfered to the front wheel? thank you for the help!
  24. oh, i see it. you activate each side with left/right rudder, right? but it feels weird... maybe i need the wheel brake to be an axis?
  25. hey guys! i have independent brakes in my rudder pedals, but the yak-52 doesn't seem to have analog brakes, right? when i try to map the brake axis (analog) to an axis on my pedals, it activates both sides (visible in the controls indicator). how do you guys map the wheel brakes?
