  1. i'm on it. :)
  2. yeah, i was playing a bit with the curvature instead of the saturation (because saturation limits the input to a certain range) and i feel like having something around 20 for both pitch and roll makes it a lot easier to keep a stable hover. it was a totally different game after that. i wonder how it will change the cyclic for forward flight, though... but hovering precision is way more important, right? also, what would be the minimum size for an extension to be effective... i've seen the mfg extensions that are 7.5cm, 10cm and 12cm... in my case, i'm currently restricted to desk use, so probably 7.5cm will be the best for me.
  3. oh, i think i don't have the skills to keep those very small adjustments, but maybe i need to invest a few more hours into it. i'll try to adjust the saturation... that will probably help with it. thank you!
  4. hey guys... i've been practicing flying the huey for a few days and i'm having a hard time at a few key moments, as you will be able to see in the video: 1. i have trouble approaching a target over which i would like to hover... in the video, my target was the big parking area next to the trucks, and from the start my intent was to hover there facing the trucks... what am i lacking here? i mean, except loads of practice. 2. after i'm finally close to the ground, i suddenly start having lots of trouble keeping the cyclic in the same general area, because now the helicopter feels like a boat facing big waves. 3. i'm trying to practice without trimming it, but i'm not sure if that's a good path to follow. those are my main concerns and i wish someone could help me so that i don't spend too much time practicing the wrong way and developing bad habits. i love helicopters and i will not give up. :D btw, i'm using a thrustmaster hotas cougar, mfg pedals and trackir. thanks in advance!
  5. thank you very much for this nice mod!
  6. this, in fact, is a compromise between awareness and ability to judge distances and the size of things. there's only one true FOV value, which can be calculated acording to your monitor width and distance from your eyes to the center of the screen. if you have access to head tracking, like TrackIR or VR, that would be the ideal FOV, because it gives you a 1:1 representation of the world... anything past that will give you distorted information of how things really are. if you can't have access to head tracking, you feel the need for a wider FOV and that's fine, up to a point.
  7. you won't believe me, but i thought about suggesting this yesterday. :D
  8. What an awesome tool!! Keep up the great work. ;)
  9. Hey, thank you very much for your answers! Some of those I figured out last night and now I get everything in the sequence.
  10. i understand that, but wouldn't a computer be able to do the simulation with all the math behind the scenes and put me in a certain position in the timeline? i mean, everytime i click the timeline, the game would recalculate everything from the start (or from a known base point) and play from that point in time. maybe we would have to wait for it to process the physics, if they are really that complicated, but i would still choose waiting a few seconds and being able to rewind the "tape" than having to exit replay mode and start all over again (or worse, having to watch 50 minutes before i'm able to analyze what really happened at the end of the mission).
  11. hey, nevermind... i just got it working... but still don't know what is the mic switch on the throttle... is it the same as pressing "" on the keyboard?
  12. you say press the mic switch on the throttle... i need to keep it pressed while i go through the menus to ask ground support?
  13. hey everyone! i've started learning how to do a cold start in the huey and i was able to request ground power by leaving the doors open... is that just a coincidence or do they really hear me only when doors are open? then i went through the start procedure and got to the point where i needed for them to disconnect... doors were still open, but they just didn't reply to my requests. should i have talked to them by radio?
  14. hi, first of all, thank you very much for this guide! can i ask a few questions, as i refuse to go forward without clearing this up? 1. where are these circuit breakers you talk about in step 2a (DC Circuit Breakers – In, except for armament and special equipment)? 2. what exactly am i supposed to do in step 4 (Ground Power Unit – Connect for GPU start → External Power Caution Light should be illuminated)? 3. in step 6a, where are these "avionics equipment" controls that i have to set to "off"? 4. still on 6a, there are 5 steps to request startup from ATC... where are these controls? i cannot relate what you describe to any center pedestal switches. thanks in advance for any help!
  15. yeah, that is the solution, thank you!
  16. for the love of god, where is the "start switch", other than the HOME key on my keyboard? your manual doesn't have any other reference for this switch... it just does not exist! also, do you know that the manual describes a completely different procedure than the one you give in the cold start tutorial?
  17. hey everyone! i've played DCS way back in 2008 and there were simply no controls in replay mode (rewind, etc.). 10 years later, i don't understand why don't we have simple timeline controls. i couldn't find any info, will this ever be implemented?
  18. yeah, most likely on the stick itself. no matter what i set in the startup options, the CCP always revert to what you show in your screenshot. btw, sorry to ask this here, but do you guys know of a way to mod the stick to remove the centering spring? is that possible on the cougar?
  19. yeah, i'm starting to think that it may be the issue here. thanks for your help... i'll report back in this thread in case i find a solution, just to document it in case someone runs into the same problem. ;)
  20. yeah, it happens on both my computers (windows 10 on both). i followed the installation procedure correctly and both installed without any errors. in fact, everything works flawlessly, but i always have to open CCP and select manual calibration. axis configurations (dead zones and stuff) all work fine, but the calibration setting (mode) is not saved on the device.
  21. hey guys, does anyone have this issue where restarting the cougar does not keep the previous manual calibration? every time i restart my computer or disconnect the cougar, i have to open CCP, go to the calibration tab and select "manual calibration". only then it will operate in manual calibration mode. it does not matter what settings i put in the startup options area (user mode, manual calibration, select profile to be loaded and click save)... it always returns to auto calibration on startup.
  22. i'm in, send more info on what you plan to do. ;)
  23. thanks Flagrum! sorry for being too lazy to look for it a bit more. ;)
  24. hi, i bought black shark 1 when they released it, now i can't download it anymore. if i want to play black shark 2, do i have to pay again? what happened to my license?
  25. i play iracing (a racing sim) and it does bezel management and the angles are all correctly displayed between the screens. i'll try to post a screenshot when i get home later today. thanks for the reply!
