is that some default you're talking about? can you move the throttle axis as soon as you enter the simulation? can you see the axis moving?

Why cant throttles start w moving Hotas throttle sticks?
aledmb replied to sonicd0012's topic in Mission and Campaigns
yes, that button (off) is working fine... it's button 29 iirc. i wonder what is that mapped to (or should be mapped as in your case), so i would be able to check, but i've gone through the whole controls list and didn't find it. thanks for the help! -
Why cant throttles start w moving Hotas throttle sticks?
aledmb replied to sonicd0012's topic in Mission and Campaigns
do you have any special bindings for that to work? because i tried that before and nothing makes my hotas move the throttle at start... only the keyboard can change that axis. -
exactly. this is clearly a bug, but years have passed and they don't seem to care.

Why cant throttles start w moving Hotas throttle sticks?
aledmb replied to sonicd0012's topic in Mission and Campaigns
yeah, i cannot move the throttle with my hotas at mission start. so many years and this is not fixed??? -
thanks for the replies, guys! but the problem with (1) still persists. unless i press and hold [page up] until it crosses the idle detent, my hotas cannot move the axis when i enter the simulation... it doesn't matter how much i move the hotas throttle, the axis just doesn't change value... once i press [page up] and cross the idle detent, my hotas suddenly becomes active and can manipulate the axis just fine. so, the problem with (1) is that i'm required to press [page up] to start using my hotas... so, effectively, the game forces me to use 2 controllers to change that axis. as for (2), i'm not able to close the throttle with that button on the collective and my hotas... i have to push that virtual button and then use my mouse to rotate the throttle past the detent... that small range past the detent is not part of the throttle axis. so, essentially, i'm looking for a way to remove the need to use the [page up] and [page down] bindings, which feel totally unecessary in a simulation where you have physical controller for that axis.

hey guys! i'm trying to make my new throttle work with the huey (it's a warthog), but i'm facing two problems: 1) to start using the throttle axis, i have to press [page up] in my keyoard until it passes the detent... how can i bind this action to my hotas, if i don't want to use [page up] ever again? 2) once i'm past the off detent, i can no longer go back to the off position... what is the bind to return the throttle to off, past the detent? thanks in advance!

yeah, i went too hot in the final few meters and the change in collective threw the nose to the right... i'm much more aware of this now after a few days practicing. as for the tip on practicing circuits, that's exactly what i'm going to do next... after i figured out the best settings for my stick, now i have to work on the transitions. thanks for the input! -
Reworked Cockpit Views with proper Neck

thank you very much for this! -
sorry for bumping this old thread, but this is the only reply here that makes sense. everyone else is tripping. this is not related to fov. the pilot is seating out of the seat, he's sitting over or even in front of the stick. check these two screenshots of me looking back in the a-10c and in the viggen. do you see how messed up this is?
-
i am patient, i'm just bringing this thread up because this has been reported in january 2017! it's more than a year without proper brakes in a jet that is supposed to simulate the real aircraft... it's more than a year selling a beta DLC as released on steam. for me, it's not a big problem, since mfg pedals can map those axes to buttons, but most people can't use their pedals and have to brake with their hands.
-
it's not a problem to have an unfinished module, being sold on beta or early access stage. but when you buy this module on steam, it does not say it's beta or early access... go check it and you'll see i'm telling the truth... it says "Release Date: 2 Nov, 2017". i discovered that this is beta by reading the manual, something that customers usually do after buying a product. also, it costs way more than finished DCS modules on steam... that's another thing that puts customers away since they see a module that is expensive and released and think "well, this one is a sure bet".

hello? having to map the brakes to a button is not acceptable. you have modeled an entire aircraft, why is this essential feature left behind?

yeah, i will be going down in the curvature until almost linear... i wouldn't like to reduce saturation because i don't want to fly trimmed all the time... but i may exchange some curvature for saturation in the next few days. ;) it's not cheap in Brasil, actually... i'll put that money towards an upgrade to a warthog in the future... for now, i'm stuck with the cougar. -
Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 9
aledmb replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
hey guys, is there a place i can read about how the whole blue flag operation works? i have very basic knowledge of the most important concepts, but i wonder if there's a central place to learn about it. thanks in advance! -

yeah, it's awful... i knew something was odd after just a few minutes trying to hold a hover. this is my second session after making the center a bit softer with +20 curvature. now i can see that practice will yield good results in no time. -
ok... do you think there are any sections in that book that we could skip for now, or should we just go from cover to cover? :book:

thanks for the great input, guys! @Dino i suppose i already understand what is needed and i can actually do it, but with the stock cougar stick it's just a very difficult task (even more for a beginner)... the spring is too stiff and there's a lot of play near the center position... adding some 20 points to the curvature of each axis made a whole lot of difference and i'm now able to sail over much nicer waves with my boat... still lots of practice needed to keep it stationary for more than a few seconds, but i'm already able to walk around the airfield and place it more or less where i want... it's a totally different game now that i have some room to play with the cyclic. @FragBum i don't think i have the skills for that... would love to have the springs removed from my cougar, but i guess i'm just stuck with it for now. @Cibit i'm getting an extension as soon as possible... i guess i'll go with a 10cm one for a start and see if that makes it any better... the MFG extensions allow you to combine them, so i can always upgrade to 20cm if i see fit. -

is that possible for the cougar?
