Yes I absolutely agree the WW2 AI is terrible! The planes jump about like UFO! Climb at ridiculous rates , screech to virtual halts then accelerate off at physics breaking speeds ! This makes flying in SP campaigns absolutely awful! I picked up the excellent " Beware, Beware" campaign which is a brilliant and very immersive campaign. Unfortunately the immersion is ruined by the ridiculous friendly AI antics . For example, during the channel crossing climb it is nigh impossible to stay in formation as the AI just zooms unrealistically. The developer of the campaign has tried to provide help by providing some tips but even with these you are fighting a losing battle. Then in other sequences the formation fly so slow that I have to circle around them continuously to avoid stalling! It just ruins all the hard work that the campaign developer has clearly put in to make this an immersive experience! I know ED are working on this (like so many other things) but come on! it has been a mess for far too long already and should be a core feature.

I use kneeboard builder which is great and have already removed / changed the default Kneeboard pages however my question is- Is there a way to remove the Default Kneeboard Map? The one that show the flight plan etc . My understanding it is something to do with LUA under (DCSWorld/Scripts/Aircrafts/_Common/Cockpit/KNEEBOARD) but I am not sure what to do to remove it Sorry if this has been asked before but I have been searching and cant seem to find a definitive answer.

Wont hold my breath then... Disappointing, due to this i find campaigns and single player missions largely unplayable due to ridiculous performance of AI flight (climb rates/deceleration of flight, erratic turns). Yes you can work around this to a minor degree whilst greatly breaking immersion but you shouldnt really have to after the investment required for the various planes, maps and assetts required for DCS WWII. Never mind. ..just found posts from a year ago raising same issue. Guess its a waste of time.

Has there been any update or confirmation that we will get any sort of decent AI for Flights / Wingmen. At the moment its like flying with UFOs! Immersion breaking and awful.

Yeah i agree no market at all in flight sims. MS2020 passed 2 million sales in a few months of release not to mention massive sales in thier internal marketplace addons. Oh and nice of you to call other members opinions "petty". I can see the name is very apt. That aside. I think hobgoblin sums it up nicely.

At least 2yrs on from the first discussions and approx a year since testing was supposedly taking place. Patience is a virtue but it also runs thin. Lets hope we get some solid news soon (this year!) Or that someone has enough sense to see the gap in the market and produce an alternative product.

The fact that the surrounding basket has no collision value annoys the hell out of me! It is difficult enough - why make it harder than in RL by not having a WORKING BASKET! Ruins AAR for me every time!

Just an update for anyone else with similar issues. - For me I found out exactly what it was!!!! I have the WinWing Panels and the entry that the SimAppPro puts in the Scripts/Export.Lua was causing the massive CPU hit. Commenting these out in the export.lua file (--) immediately resolved the issue! I can reintroduce it by "uncommenting" them so I have 100% evidence that this is what was causing the issue! The WinWing export.lua script issue is documented here. Thank god - with this and the OpenXR ( VR without steam VR) I can now fly VR buttery smooth! .

Hey RVL - glad you got it sorted mate

Cool - I just edited the LUA for F18 and works a treat! \Mods\aircraft\FA-18C\Cockpit\Scripts\TEWS\device\CMDS_ALE47..Lua

nice one. will find it now

Is there anyway to set CM programs in mission editor or do you have config them everytime?

Bit of a Noob question even though I have been playing DCS for years....I have never fully understood when the Enemy is getting RWR alerts. i.e. When do they get a "symbol" showing me. When do they know I am "scanning them" - RWS, LTWS, TWS etc When do they get a Lock alert ...Only in STT? Does this vary from between RWR systems?

Have tried that and just used the in game FPS counter ....no change really. I only used FPSVR to check where the bottleneck was and show frametimes etc. I am stumped ...guess its 2D and hope engine changes fix it ;( The issue I have is that I see others with similar systems getting much better performance.. The fact that reducing DCS settings / SS and PD to the lowest possible settings has no effect ...says there is something fundamentally wrong somewhere. I just wish I could find it.
-
So no count in manual mode. Guess I can alway just flip it back to check . thanks for confirming
-
I cant seem to show the Countermeasure quantity on the SA page in dispenser Bypass mode (Manual)? Any Ideas?
-
Thanks Man, I hadnt tried but have now along with the "stilt" PBO settings . Some boost elesewhere but DCS ..no better .... actually worse ;/
-
Fingers crossed. Good Luck. Let us know.

Looks like the GPU is the bottleneck for you. (Mine is CPU). What is the PD set at in DCS? should be 1 ideally. Also have you tried throttling back the GPU related settings (Shows GPU or CPU impact in tooltip now which is good) - Any impact?
-
Doesn't have any effect mate. As I mentioned I have the PD set to 0.5 and it still doesn't stop CPU frame spike , locked frames or stutters! It doesn't get any better or different if its on SS100 or 1 ! Yes already tried it im afraid .. no effect. thanks but already tried all the shader mods as per OP

I moved from the Rift S to the G2 last year and have had constant issues (DCS only) with poor FPS / Stutters and CPU Frametime Spikes. I have literally tired every setting and every fix / tweak in these forums to absolutely no avail so much so that I went back to TrackIR / 2D. My System Ryzen 3950x , Asus ROG 2080ti , 32Gb, Prime X570 Pro MB, 970 EVO NVME M2 Exclusive to DCS. Win 10. The issue seems to be CPU utilisation under DCS. As a test I set all DCS settings to Off / Low with minimal sliders and PD = 0.5. SS80% , motion Projection off. Which made no difference in performance , stutters from standard settings (Similar Big Newy / speed of light forum posts). I just can not get the CPU frame times down no matter what! See below. I have tried 2 x G2 Headsets, New Cables (version 2) , Various Bios Settings, All System Hygiene settings applied . Shader Mods, Shadow Mods, SS / PD combinations, reprojection on , off , WMR, SS. ...process lasso .... etc etc. In contrast I ran Elite Dangerous MAXED out and got the following. Note....No CPU issues at all. Any ideas? As I am fed up again!

let us know.... I tried mine again today after getting the new V2 cable. No joy still..... Cant get any FPS above 32 on my test mission ...no matter how low I put SS or PD or settings etc.. It could be a pixelated mess but still 32 fps...its like it is locked! I have an ASUS Prime X570 Pro motherboard with 3950x and 2080ti ...not the best but still should be getting much better ....Just cant work it out , have tried everything!
-
sorry to hear but at least you know. To be honest this is why I ended going back to TrackIR , it was such a time soak. I also tried everything (like you) but no joy. I guess it must be some random configuration. I assume that you are already running the ryzen with a SMT off profile or Game mode? Again I tried this and not much difference. Just FYI / Good Post -

V2 cable has a switch for power. V1 didnt. The V2 part number is M52188-001. The V2 Cable doesnt need a powered Hub and will work on any 3.0 USB.
