A-10C Formation Flight Fundamentals Training
funkster replied to AFAlinebacker42's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Hey Thanks Linebacker for a very enjoyable and educational evening  I must admit it was quite advanced for me and as it was my first time online I was a little lost but had tons of fun anyway (despite a one of my controllers not working in MP and a mid flight crash). Anyway sorry to 'Spoke' for me going AWOL and a big thanks to 'J' for forming up with me for the final stretch. :pilotfly:I think I need more practise online - comms, protocol etc. Great fun. :smilewink::smilewink::smilewink: -
Render MFCDs and SHKVAL/ABRIS in 3d Cockpit

As above, did anyone else loose the 3D pit RWR display when using this change? -
Render MFCDs and SHKVAL/ABRIS in 3d Cockpit
funkster replied to DNM's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
This also seems to disable rendering of the RWR in the A10c. Is this correct? If so is there another way around this? I basically want all my other view ports in 3d pit except MFD. (I have these external) -
hmmm isn't that to render external viewports? I have that all sorted I just want to switch off the MFD (Only) in Main Screen Cockpit.
-
Hi Quick question I am running external MFD's and would like to not render them in game cockpit. I know this is achievable via the viewhandling.lua but if I use it I also lose my RWR. Is there another way so I only stop rendering the MFDs and keep RWR?

Yep it was the mission

Just move your TAD cursor over it, TMS right (create markpoint) , TMS UP long to set as SPI I then normal wilco , and cnc to clear red mark (keep things tidy). You can also use China.hat forward and DMS up. With TAD to go into EXP modes for.finer.detail. What UAV? You don't mean the green plane symbol do you? You might need this -
-
Good video. May be easier to use TAD cursor and 'hook to cursor' function to quickly add in the 90degree beam Markpoints? Rather than CDU OFFSET. Create your overhead markpoint A Hook it in TAD (TMS UP short) change function to 'hook to cursor' and move away to 90 degree/50m. Create Mark B Repeat and make flight plan. Just a variation / thought.

I can only imagine that due to the various installation paths i.e Steam, DCS WORLD or DCS World upgrade (from old standalone a10 (myself)) that there are multiple ways to configure. It would be good if headspace could confirm and help clarify? in the meantime YAY!! -

SUCCESS !!!!!! That is what it was ! I needed this line adding to the config.lua in that directory. It also works without the Config.lua in the Saved Games\DCS\Scripts Folder. In summary all files as per HMA post plus the added line as described by TXMTB. Thanks Guys, really appreciated you helping me get this working. Would be good to put up a sticky for manual install to help any future issues.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: -

hmmm Just looking at above (The list was provided by a TARS / Helios Install guide for DCS WORLD) I can already see discrepancies with the earlier post by MLaden (Thanks for trying to help BTW:thumbup:) i.e McLaden states: -Config.lua ... should have this line: EnableExportScript = true But the Guide states: -Config.lua contains this line: ExportEnableScript = true Secondly. Mladen states:- export.lua ... last line should be... dofile(lfs.writedir().."Scripts\\TARSExport.lua") Guide states:- dofile("./Config/Export/TARSExport.lua") I don't know which is right and I cant seem to find a definitive guide to 1.2.7 manual installation. Can anyone help and list the exact files / locations / containing lines etc??? Please? -
good thinking - will give it a go

Hi yes I read that also and tried it to no avail I'm afraid. Is the list of files / locations I provided previously - correct / still valid? File is present: C:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\Export.lua Contains this line at the end (if not using HELIOS, this is the only line that needs to be in that file): dofile("./Config/Export/TARSExport.lua") File is present: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Config\Export\TARSExport.lua File is present: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Config\Export\Config.lua Contains this line: ExportEnableScript = true Directory is present (installed by TARS control panel): C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\TARS Containing directory: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\TARS\aircraft Containing files: a10.luac, ka50.luac Containing files: tarscore.luac, tarsexporter.luac Teamspeak: is the plugin checked in menu Settings->Plugins? (ctrl-shift-p) Files present in teamspeak program directory: tars.ini, plugins\tars_64.dll (if using 32bit version it should be tars_32.dll) -
Anyone? I also noticed that when I did get a detect it seemed to be at a building near the JTAC friendlys ..... almost like they were pointing the laser directly at the target even though there was a building in front of them? Could this simply be an issue with the mission AI? The mission is JTAC training from DRAGONS training pack.

Hey, yes your right I'm using the latest version but I've noted in other thread this is ok. In fact just a few posts back in fact. Post -1189 on page 119. so not sure that's the issue. It seems to be centered around TARS not seeing the game install. I've now completed a manual install and still doesn't seem to connect. I'm I correct in saying that if correctly installed I will see radio freq displayed in team speak once I've powered up radios in the plane? Ie where it now says 'not running' in my screenshot (earlier post)?? If not Is there another way to test it is working? -

Thanks Eagle. I have previously noted this and all is in order but still no joy. I have now manually moved files as below but still getting the same response in TS (as per screen above). I am presuming this should change to show the radio freq etc as per manual if it is working? Anyway I have checked the following from another old thread but still no go. File is present: C:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\Export.lua Contains this line at the end (if not using HELIOS, this is the only line that needs to be in that file): dofile("./Config/Export/TARSExport.lua") File is present: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Config\Export\TARSExport.lua File is present: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Config\Export\Config.lua Contains this line: ExportEnableScript = true Directory is present (installed by TARS control panel): C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\TARS Containing directory: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\TARS\aircraft Containing files: a10.luac, ka50.luac [*]Containing files: tarscore.luac, tarsexporter.luac Teamspeak: is the plugin checked in menu Settings->Plugins? (ctrl-shift-p) Files present in teamspeak program directory: tars.ini, plugins\tars_64.dll (if using 32bit version it should be tars_32.dll) I understand but I genuinely have been at this for days trying / reading all sorts but to no avail. This as always is my last resort. -
hey no problem, it is very kind of you to help thus far. Thanks :thumbup:

hmm As stated i have read the configuration manual and various forums etc. thank you for your most helpful and pointless reply. -
no problem. that is the correct path. i have all my libraries (music, docs, profile etc )setup and pointed to a secondary drive which in turn backups up externally. (just to be safe). This is the right folder and works fit Helios, views etc).
