Ka-50 ABRIS encoder question
JG14_Smil replied to Braeden108's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hello, interesting post. Are you building a pit? Would like to see it if so. Might be able to find the answer for you. My Alps encoders have 30 pulses per revolution, but lua is used to edit how many are used per revolution in the sim. It is a critical setting on the cursor encoder. Good luck to you, -
Multi-Monitor, program stuck in Taskbar
JG14_Smil posted a topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hello, I have a weird problem with my TFS3 Feedback Seat program. It has happened in the past so it is nothing new to me. My program works fine, it only stops displaying on my desktop and shows up on my Taskbar when I try to run it in a window. Seat works with DCS, but I cannot edit my Ka-50 profile to edit the vibes. It is related to having multi-monitors. In the past, it has randomly started to work again (would be nice) :) In the past I have also done a registry clean/reload to fix it (last on the list). In the past I have also read of a simple fix, but the Ivibe forum for the TFS3 is gone, and with it, the answer. I've done an internet search.. I found one that says "Alt Space on the taskbar icon, click Move". I do it and see the 'move' arrows, but still nothing displays. I saw nothing else in that search. I did a search here with no luck. Just thought I would ask... thanks. -
Clock and such are out of scale due to the #2 having different resolution, possibly.

Helios doesn't have anything to do with the viewports. When you reset your monitors for Helios, did you verify the monitor numbers were correct? As in "old #1 equals new #2" (using this as an example). Make sure the Helios monitor numbers match your Windows numbering on your first monitor reset. hope it helps...

Hello, I have an i7-3370 and some kind of Titan. With a single monitor I can run max settings, but I still wouldn't. To me, smooth is more important than taking screenshots. I'm running 6000x1920 in my cockpit. I'm getting 30-50 fps in my tests lately. I haven't flown in a awhile, but I remember having to move my view all around when I first enter a mission. I would get the little freezes until I looked around and seemingly loaded objects into memory, then it was smooth. Perhaps you could test that out. I wouldn't know what joystick to buy anymore, can't help with that, sorry. Good luck to you,

I'm sitting pretty close to a 32" TV right now, looking at this. No problems. I don't think you can do what you ask. Maybe if you use those horizontal and vertical stretch buttons, but that would be a pain. Good luck to you,

When you enter a mission, choose adjust controls and make sure your slider is seen and set correctly for you helo and game or simulation settings you are using. You may have to look at the pull-down lists to make sure you are making the right settings choices.

Yeah, pretty confusing. I tore apart a set of CH pedals. I made a simple T rudder system like you describe. It pivots in the middle. Ankles are on a base. Only one potentiometer, no more toe brakes. I only fly BS, so I use no return springs in mine. My T pedal is scratch built, using only two parts from the CH pedals. Best of luck to you..

Hello, You can disable driver signing in Windows 10. Do a restart while holding Shift key. Choose Trouble shooting/ Advanced../Startup Settings. You will see a list of tasks you can perform and a restart button. You would click restart and then choose the number key for the item you are changing. Take your computer back. Stop MS from using you as a server while you are at it.

Interesting! Best of luck on your pits and business. Looking forward to seeing both. Hoosier Hello,

Hello, If you want a lot of switches, ribbon cable and IDC connectors work great. It is very easy to break out of the ribbon cable with the crimp on connectors. One 40 pin cable can do hundreds of switches (depending on your hardware). Build modular sections and use a ribbon cable Bus. Can do the same for LEDs. Good luck on your build.

Merci Enforce, Cockpit should be up and running in a week. Which 5.1 system did you get? I need to get a good one.

Best wishes to you Pete, I've always thought that cockpit building and scale modeling are quite similar. We build models we can actually sit in. I bet yours goes over well. Wish I could attend! -

Hello, I think PeterP built some FF pedals a few years ago. There were also some FF sticks, if I remember correctly. Might learn more with a search. Good luck, it is an interesting project and I'd like to see it work. -

Hello, I have DCS 1.5.4 and 2.0 with a Blackshark module. I can't find a Blackshark manual or even a link to DL one at the DCS site. I'm probably missing something somewhere... please help.

You want how much for a switch?!
JG14_Smil replied to Braeden108's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
A couple years ago when we were building our Ka-50 pits, someone found the cockpit lights from a Ka-50 as surplus. I knew better, but was asked to inquire about the price. I think they were "$500 a piece, How many would you like?". I just laughed. Myself, I am not that into high-fidelity, and I generally just knock things together. Takes all kinds though, and I enjoy seeing all the great pits. -
Track ir 4 problem after 1.5.4 update.
JG14_Smil replied to coolpoint's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Nope, all 6 dof are needed with TIR. It is head position, not zoom you are controlling. Sorry I can't help you coolpoint. I'm having a lot of different issues myself. -
Thank you. It updated me long ago, so I'm probably stuck. One thing that is killing me in Win 10 is loss of SoftTh. I used it to edit the frames out of my three monitor setup. They don't line up as well in DCS. I visited the website for it but was not able to get the latest version to create a cfg file. I'll keep plugging at it...
