  1. Hello, I am trying to get my head around this... you are using Shadow Play, now known as Share in Geforce Experience? Thanks for any help. The Nvidia site is a bit confusing and it wants me to log in using my FB account to use this feature(?).
  2. Thanks NeilWillis, I do that every time I look at the MP server list. :) I do appreciate your invitation and I hope to try your server someday soon (pings allowing).
  3. First of all, I wanted to thank each of you that run a server for what you do. You make the whole DCS thing come alive for guys like me that don't really fly single missions and campaigns. I wanted to write this because as a cockpit builder, it is getting pretty hard to find a server to fly on. I understand why Integrity checks and blocked exports are needed, so I hold no ill-will to those for using them. I guess I'm part of a very small group. Last night, I came across another Ka-50 pilot (rare these days). He actually communicated with me (more rare) and he knew what and how to use the data link system (rarest of all on a free-flight server). The datalink, a very important MP BS feature didn't work. Sensor export was shut off. I guess the world is a better place now. Two Blackshark enthusiasts were stopped from tearing the whole empty server to shreds with our game-cheating datalink connection. Like I said earlier, I appreciate the servers very much and I'm not criticizing anything. I've never cheated or even wanted to do so, but I guess there are people that do. Alienating the most dedicated sub-group (cockpit builders) from a sim that is made for those very same people is kind of crazy IMHO. I know I'm the oddball here.. don't get mad and start banning me for saying this. Best wishes to everyone,
  4. Game consoles sell in the millions of units. We are a very small group, asking for our own types of toys. You don't hand hold a joystick(?) I'll just let that one go... A bass shaker mounted near you stick base does wonders for those shakes you want.
  5. Hello, I found a work-around for making an indicator light up to replace the Low/Nominal RPM collective switch indication in the Blackshark. The switch needs to send key strokes as there are no bindings for this in Helios. By having my hardware switch send both the key presses and an virtual analog button, I can link to an Indicator in my Helios profile and no more forgetting this important switch is on. Veterans of the BS will remember this as a feature that was lost along the way. Anyway, is there a lua timer code I can use to make the Indicator toggle on and off while this switch is pressed? Please note: I am not crazy about the audible warning and I use my own Indicator in my Helios profile for this to avoid using the Master Warning. Thank you,
  6. You know, I can now remember doing all this in the past to get the ARK-22 working. It is a great aspect to flying, especially in a cockpit with a working radio panels. Four years later, the problem still exists, the simple fix still exists. Why this does not get incorporated into the build is beyond me. The Ka-50 gets no love. :)
  7. Curved monitor wont really matter. TIR is all about the movement settings being right. Enjoy your new setup!
  8. For MP, the same mission with a couple different weather patterns is much more 'dynamic' than a feature that is never used. :) I can see where the realistic weather could screw up a MP mission in a hurry.
  9. I understand what you are saying cichlidfan and I agree. I was kind of at a loss as to why I was seeing so much detail that no one even knows is there. Still made for an interesting walk. How about answering my question? Has anything changed towards pilot rescues in the last three years?
  10. Thanks very much Tarres.
  11. Hello, I did a search as I shared the same concerns as the OP in this thread. I felt I should just post here. I am no programmer but I was taking a look at the default ARK.lua file. I note the following code that writes the names onto the ARK placard in the Ka-50. I note that further down the file, "if theatre = = Nevada then... contains no code at all for writing to the placard. I thought this was interesting as I see an empty placard at all times in the NTTR. if theatre == 'Caucasus' if Airdrome then -- for T3 channels = { [1] = runway_homer_pair(Airdrome[Krasnodar],nil,localizedAirdromeName(terrainAirdromes[Krasnodar])), [2] = runway_homer_pair(Airdrome[Maykop] ,nil,localizedAirdromeName(terrainAirdromes[Maykop])), [3] = runway_homer_pair(Airdrome[Krymsk] ,nil,localizedAirdromeName(terrainAirdromes[Krymsk])), [4] = runway_homer_pair(Airdrome[Anapa] ,nil,localizedAirdromeName(terrainAirdromes[Anapa])), [5] = runway_homer_pair(Airdrome[Mozdok] ,nil,localizedAirdromeName(terrainAirdromes[Mozdok])), [6] = runway_homer_pair(Airdrome[Nalchick] ,nil,localizedAirdromeName(terrainAirdromes[Nalchick])), [7] = runway_homer_pair(Airdrome[MinVody] ,nil,localizedAirdromeName(terrainAirdromes[MinVody])), [8] = { [ADF_HOMER_FAR] = NDB(beacons["NDB_KISLOVODSK"]), [ADF_HOMER_NEAR] = NDB(beacons["NDB_PEREDOVAIA"]) } }
  12. Hello, I took a relaxing free flight in the VA 2.0 server. I enjoy flying my Blackshark around looking at the detailed scenery. I flew to Heliport Sandy, saw a F-15 circling and then headed back to Nellis on route mode AP. The F-15 flies a bit close and clips my rotor blade. He apologizes and I don't mind as I need to test my eject function in my cockpit. As I parachute down I see I am landing in a little town. I note the walking pilot is pretty well articulated and he looks pissed off. I walk in the beautiful little town and I expect a soldier from OFP to start hunting me. It just reminded me of that old shooter. I tell you I would not have minded being able to get in a car and drive back to base! I walk around and notice there are garbage cans for the houses. I see a 3D garbage can, go look in it and there is garbage in it! It was an interesting cyber-walk. I just wanted to show appreciation for the details someone took the time to put in the sim. Has anything been down towards pilot rescues? There are great choppers for it. Just curious.
  13. I placed a Ka-50 in a mission in both 1.5 and 2.0 and all my ABRIS searches worked. Maybe try a repair(?). Good luck!
  14. So you're in the Editor? You do know it is hard to guess this stuff... What version are you running this in? Try the same mission I tested with. That's a start. I'll start trying BS versions to see if I can reproduce it.
  15. Someone should be able to help over the net. Just explain where you are at with it. You have three or four monitors? Best of luck getting it running,
  16. You searched for Towns, not airfields from what I saw. I see airfields when I search. 1.5 and 2.0 I see town names when I search them, no data though. Worked in both 1.5 and 2.0 I used the Instant Action/Take Off missions to test it. What mission are you in? Have you changed any ABRIS database settings?
  17. Beautiful work Julien.
  18. Have to agree. DCS make mouse response very sluggish on main menus.
  19. So, the cold Ka-50s have no fuel... got it.
  20. Look closely at the UI drop down boxes to make sure you are making the right selections. Use the Tune Axis to make sure your axis is working in DCS.
  21. You've done a great job on your profile. I just loaded my old VAC program and profile and it works perfectly. I keep her simple and can always default to pronouncing the F-key. I'm new to the kneeboard thing... all I know is I hit my NV panel light switch and that thing covers up my ABRIS on my Helios monitor. :) I'll have to look into that. Your post helped me get VAC running again, thanks.
  22. Hello, I enjoy flying on your servers. I'm having trouble finding a ground crew (GC) to refuel my Ka-50. I know about intercom and open door, but GC menu is blacked out. The cold start Ka-50s are pretty low on fuel (in 1.5 server). Is there a location where I can find the GC trucks? thanks,
  23. Hello, It is probably no consolation for you but your post helped me. I run a 6000x1920 PLPL monitor setup. I only fly the BS, so the big setup doesn't affect me as if I was in a dogfighter. DCS was running choppy for me, more so than I remember, and not enjoyable as such. I went to safe mode and uninstalled all the Nvidia stuff I could find. I had to uninstall the PhysX back in normal mode Windows. I reloaded the 368.81 drivers and GeForce experience only, nothing else. I believe I loaded these over the latest Nvidia drivers I did not like earlier, causing my troubles. The clean install really helped my DCS. The chunks have turned back into surges, normal for the big screens (I'm not too picky with the monitor setup, I know there are tradeoffs). I can actually start going back up with graphics options in the DCS UI. I also note that my side monitors are over scanning. I can't see the FPS counter in DCS. I know how to fix this, but it is running so well that I'll go without the side monitor edges for now. I'll test it in the future to see if it is a cause of trouble in the PLP monitors. Good luck, I hope you get it worked out.
  24. Frederf: I note that in that server, I hit my PVi-800 Wind button and it showed wind coming from the west. I forget the exact number and it is definitely "wind from" as the helo acted as it should with a westerly wind. Will this button always reflect the briefing weather and not dynamic conditions? I guess I'll learn more about it as I fly more. If I remember correctly now, it is in the ME that the wind is "wind to" direction(?). thanks for all your help.
