  1. looks really good!!! The weight of this stuff is crazy, that is why I designed cockpits without ribs etc... Hard to be the real deal , great job
  2. It would probably take a few days of code to get the SBS view and make it look right... there is already a lot of flexibility in views now. The immersion compared to triple screen can not compare with 360 head tracking and large 1:1 fov! Also, the res is not very good now, but they will have better screens next year...
  3. Well, hopefully more will chime in if any of you see the possibilities of the rift . Dcs combined with the rift/ 360 degree head tracking and the leap would be unbelieveable!
  4. Well, I'm not sure about the keyboard issue, but if your using a hotas and have a mouse near by, then you could use the rift right now without the need for a keyboard. I rarely use the keyboard when I'm actually flying, mostly only to exit or check frame rates... Anyhow, I can pass the SDK information and do some testing if this interest DCS.
  5. Hey DCS DEVS... Oculus Rift! I'm not sure if your up to date on this, but the devs really need to look into devloping DCS to work with the Rift... This HMD is starting an entire new trend in gaming and simulation! 4 days to go if anyone wants a DEV kit...
  6. How many extra frames do you get when you shut off the in-cockpit mfd's? Just wondering... Also, what are your frames with nd without the USB monitors? Thanks
  7. Ya, this is the main reason we came up with Helios... a lot of work just for one panel!
  8. looks like a lot of work !!! I would be in for something like this that actually has real forces, but you need to be able to mount a the warthog grip...
  9. Ya, this panel making business is very time consuming and so many different variables to get it right. That is is why Mike a Vp charges $1300-1500 for a set of f-16 panels. I would say a good cdu is worth at least $200 for the time it takes to make.
  10. do you have the model number? They sound pretty snappy which is good!
  11. Looks real good with the HUD! Hey, what push buttons are you using?
  12. Dude, you have some sort of hardware issue! I would ebay off the ati and buy a gtx card! You also could have a bad motherboard etc... Many people use Helios no problem with fps. I run a 5870x6 with 4 monitors without any problem.
  13. I was thinking the CRP4848 which can be expanded to the 4x8 down the road with min cost...
  14. I'm building a 4x4 router... I do use 1/4 inch MDF a lot though for different parts, but I like birch better for 1/2 use. BTW, it is .47 in thickness, not .50!
  15. MDF is cheap, easy to work and is flat, but do not get it wet plus is very heavy! I would use Birch plywood... stronger, lighter, pretty easy to work with. It is harder to paint, but it can be done with good quality coats. About $10 more per sheet- I'm currently building another CNC, so I will be able to help folks in the next couple of months.
  16. I bet at least $10,000 ... built for military!
  17. like this? of course this an F-16 version... A-10 is here with seat cushions- http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=92274

A lot of different options to test now! It will be a little while before I can do complete test, but in the mean time I will be collecting projectors etc... Thanks again Peter for the hard work!
  19. Really nice job! I like the multi-use setup... I'm the same way these days and like to fly different aircraft. Great job on the paint as well, looks awesome.

Your on a roll Peter, thanks for all the prep work! I'm currently looking for projectors etc... also I will build another PC for the visuals and use my current for Helios and cockpit stuff.

Ya, I will do a top view ... a must have! Hey Bhawthrone, are you around to test this?

Well, I have a bigger room if need be... but I want to give the smaller room a shot first. It is interesting to find out that cross projecting does not affect the outcome of the presentation. Learn something new every day! I guess since light is not a particle, then there is not collision or interference.

Wow, you are the sketchup man! This will be awesome if this works as well as above... I started collecting projectors, so when the room is built, then I will most certainly post the results.
  24. Who did you steal the A-10 from? lol
  25. Good job man, I used the same engraving material... I did paint flat black before final engraving to give it the right look. Buttons are the hardest and yours look awsome!
