[ALREADY REPORTED] SAM mode very sluggish, STT mode smooth!?
AleCisla replied to AleCisla's topic in Bugs and Problems
Oh, that's good to know umkhunto! Now, back to my first question then, the SAM mode is not supposed to be like that...? Should we make a new thread reporting it as a bug? Thank you very much for your reply, very useful information there. :) -
Calicrook, I'll try to set up a mission with no waypoint and see how that works then whatever I find out, I'll post here. By the way, I found the zoom function on the TGP, is under "MAN RNG knob", which is manual range I guess.... many keybindings have COMPLETELY different names and terminologies on the F-16, I'm spending more time trying to find names and keybindings than actually flying... :megalol:

[ALREADY REPORTED] SAM mode very sluggish, STT mode smooth!?
AleCisla replied to AleCisla's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hmmm... well, it could be. But I lose my target very easily in SAM mode, which is very annoying when I forget to go forward on the TMS one more time.... I don't know if it's because this "sluggishness" or if it's because the radar is too busy trying to keep track of more things around the target...? In STT mode I never lose the target, so I guess it's always better to use STT for now, untill we get TWS working..? Am I right? Thanks for your reply! -
Hi guys, I noticed that when I enter SAM mode, in RWS, the target box and steering cue are very sluggish, as if they were updating every 2-3 seconds, making very difficult to "predict" where and when to stop turning in order to stay on the target. However, by pressing TMS forward once more, I go into STT mode, and that works very smooth making the whole tracking-killing of the enemy A LOT easier. Is this a bug or is supposed to be like that? Thanks!

Well, I haven't tried anything in MP yet, but from what you guys are saying, I know what to expect then.. In offline mode, as the TheGuardian said, a quick press forward of the TMS button will cycle between AREA, POINT and INS, which I didn't know untill now, so thanks for that! :) And the same button used for the nose steering wheel can change from CCIP to CCRP and another mode I can't remember now, but just realise that one too... Fri13, I think what's happening to you is that you're not making the TGP your SOI... try that first using Harlinkwin instructions and it should work. Now, I have a question, still related to the TGP, as I saw on Waggs video, he zoomed in and out using what kind of control? I tried using the antena elevation, but it's not that one... does anyone knows what control the zoom on the TGP? Please.
-
Oh I see!!! Sorry. I'm gonna try that now... also, TheGuardian said in his post "pressing the TMS Up short"... which sounds like a very quick press of the button, less than 1 second. I'll test and report back.

Are you pressing the trigger to activate the laser? Or "fire" the laser? So you can see the "L" flashing...? I had it working with no problems. Also, I don't think you need a waypoint to drop the bombs, as I didn't have when I tried and it worked.

[REPORTED] RWR not working when using Auto Start
AleCisla replied to max22's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
It takes a few seconds to start working, but it is working. Mind you, there are 4 buttons there, only 1 works which is the bottom right that turns on the RWR, I think the other 3 are inoperative at the moment. -
[REPORTED] The SA page open causes massive stuttering.
AleCisla replied to AleCisla's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi NineLine, I'm sorry, I didn't see the thread going this far... I had the track and I thought about sending it, but I have to delete my MP tracks all the time and I end up losing that one too. (Which is another thing I need to find out how to stop, as I have sometimes 5Gb of data filling up my SSD from MP tracks recorded... if only we could have the option of not saving them? That would be great!) Anyway, I don't know if we could call a "FPS drop", it's weird...as my FPS doesn't go down too much. It's more about the stuttering, because I can have a 10-20 FPS drops sometimes and it's fine...but with the SA page open, the stuttering is unbelievable and sometimes it feels like there is no massive FPS drops but the frenetic stuttering is there while the SA page is open. I hope this descriptions can help too and if you want me to, I can record a new track showing when this happen and then post here. Thank you guys for listening to us and checking this out! You guys rock! Regards, Alex. -
[REPORTED] The SA page open causes massive stuttering.
AleCisla replied to AleCisla's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi NineLine, I don't know if my SSD is fast or slow. I'll find out that info. I can join most servers, with 60 people in it, use any model I have with no problems. My FPS is always between 60 and 50-42 if there's too many explosions and such or if I'm flying near populated areas. And for my settings, I always keep everything in a mid-low kind of settings, only use higher settings if I'm in single player. But the point is, my gameplay never stutters like that, using any model, in any server. This only happens when I'm flying the F-18 and decide to open the SA page. It's a frenetic jumping of the FPS, with 2 or 3 massive spikes every second. It feels like I'm playing with 5 FPS or frame by frame, which becomes unplayable. I'll try reducing my graphic settings even more and see what happen. Thanks! -
[REPORTED] The SA page open causes massive stuttering.
AleCisla replied to AleCisla's topic in Bugs and Problems
No, not really. I have a very high fan curve, so it never goes over 75-74 degrees celsius, I'm always carefull about that as I know laptops don't do very well with high temperatures, but I'm sure that this is not the case. I don't know what could cause this, because it doesn't happen at all with any other module, using any kind of MPCD like in the Harrier, I don't have any problems at all. Only on the SA page of the F-18. I'll try and check more settings, maybe the amount of people on the data link or just in the server, maybe the RivaTuner, I don't know... Anyway, thank you for your help Bignewy! Much appreciated! Alex. -

[REPORTED] The SA page open causes massive stuttering.
AleCisla replied to AleCisla's topic in Bugs and Problems
I've got a gaming laptop EVGA - SC15 Intel i7-7700HQ @ 2.80GHz 250Gb SSD (where DCS is) 16Gb RAM GTX 1060 - 6Gb VRAM Win 10 64bit I'm using Riva Tuner Statistics Server - RTSS, to cap my framerates at 60fps. Which works fine with all the models I have, in any kind of mission SP or MP. -
Hi guys, I couldn't find the reason why my simulation was stuttering like hell...untill I turned off the SA page! :( It becomes unplayable because of the stuttering. Then I soon as I turn off the page, it's gone. Is there anyone else seeing this, is it a bug or maybe something wrong on my end? I was in a MP server when I noticed this, with loads of people online. Maybe that could be the cause? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Don't use waypoints on HSI and tip the nose of the plane down about 8-10 degrees, 10 seconds before the drop, then it works! :)
-
I have a few problems with AIM-120C too, sometimes they don't work as intended, losing lock very easily and making the square where the enemy is locked, to blink on and off.... and when using them, the radar elevation get stuck and I can't change the elevation at all.. :(

Night vision on Gazelle L and minigun variants
AleCisla replied to Polychop Simulations's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
Make an exception. And a checkbox in settings for people that don't want the NVG's. Then MP servers can choose to enable or disable it and we can choose to have it or not in SP missions. -
[Fixed]SA342 Gazelle=No Mistral Tone or RWR
AleCisla replied to AleCisla's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thank you leonsilver. I guess it's just waiting now then... -
Well maybe ED lost the papers where they had written down the changes of the code or maybe Polychop and ED are comunicating via writting letters. Maybe that's why is taking so long...
-
I made a new thread in "Sound" section, I don't know if that's gonna be answered but just in case.
-
Hi, Using the Gazelle with Mistral gives us no tone when the missiles are selected. Some people said that changing the main volume level fixed the problem, but it didn't work for everybody, as it didn't for me too. Also, the RWR, a very important instrument (even more important than the Mistral tone) is not working. We have no sound at all. Can this problem be fixed? Is there a workaround we can use in the meantime? Thanks.

Hi, I came across a weird problem: trying to set a button from my HOTAS (X52 Pro) in SRS. Any button that I try to set, as PTT or Radio 1, 2, 3, etc... it doesn't matter which one, comes up as one number down, so lets say if I try to set button number 10, it shows in SRS number 9. And not just that, but unless I keep the properties window from my HOTAS open, whatever I set up in SRS doesn't work. So I need to keep the HOTAS properties window open all the time for SRS to recognize... the wrong button (always one number down) ... and then it works. Has anyone came across this problem already? Does it have a solution? I don't have this problem with any other game, so I'm sure it's SRS that is not being able to recognize the right number for a specific button. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks. Alex.

Sorry for bringing this thread back, but I just found out about this saving thing, and I removed almost 10Gb of data from my Multiplayer folder!... I don't want DCS to record my tracks in MP anymore, and I also don't have the "autoexec.exe" and I have no idea how to create one or even what to write it .... can anyone help me? What do I need to put in this "autoexec" file? Can I create it on the Notepad? Please any help will be nice as my SSD it's not big enough to keep saving this files. Thanks

Hello guys, So basically there's no ILS on the Persian Gulf map (nor any aviation/navigation charts) and we can't use ICLS on the Tarawa, which "belongs" to the Harrier by nature.. is this right? :(
-
Hi guys, I read most of the comments here, so in order to make the waypoint slew where you want, basically you need to have this waypoint created already from start, in the mission editor... ?! Otherwise you get the moving plane bug... ? Is this right? Coz I tried to create a waypoint before taking off, I didn't put any waypoint before in mission editor, then when in game I tried to move that "just created" waypoint to a different location and I got the plane moving instead...I'm gonna try creating some waypoints before the start of the mission and test it... if this is a bug, I hope they fix it soon. :(
