  1. You can also add inserts.
  2. For aircraft stuff try "ASAP Aviation Spares" at Caboolture for fasteners.
  3. Paths are real finicky if you move files around Ive found for assemblies.I have same problem with ProDesktop 2000ic especially with real old files. With sketches I export them off as a Dxf file as a backup instead of trusting the SW sketch.Im doing something crazy as well.
  4. 3D print ?
  5. Go old school and just use photocopies of the panels blown up full size then transfer onto wood or perspex?
  6. An interesting read about VR.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_reality_sickness
  7. Thanks guys..More coming..
  8. Some pics of the majority of parts involved. This is the second one coming together.
  9. Amazing update..Interesting note on the armour plate.Due to the rails narrowing they made up pivots for the plate so it narrowed with the rails.
  10. I feel the pain...It happens.Just keep designing... :pilotfly:
  11. Its been a bane of CAD designers everywhere that there is no cross compatibility between design formats..There are some programs that do it with limited success.. The easiest way is to get the file in the same format it was designed in..Or use a 2d CAD file and redraw it in 3D.:helpsmilie:
  12. Absolutely beautiful work..The wood also would make beautiful formers to do hammerforming with aluminium.
  13. I do text at least 1.5mm deep at a minimum and do the font as bold where possible.
  14. Hi guys.Been an exciting and challenging couple of months.Due a request by a couple of guys who needed some realistic, functioning parts for their P51 flight sims I proceeded to get knee deep in aircraft drawings, manuals and pilfering any info I could find online..Many thanks to Kelly and Stang4me as their initial info was invaluable to start production.First things is there is not a lot of drawings available for all the parts needed to do a complete throttle as parts were a mix of B and D or simply could not be found.Even with the parts manual diagram there were differences between different blocks of Mustangs. Also thanks to Kellys detective work I was able to get some original type screws and bolts. After initially drawing it all up in CAD then in 3D a design started to make sense so major components could be started in the 3D printer and the larger sheetmetal aluminium parts fabricated.Eventually as I started assembling parts things didnt work 100% so a process of redesign and fine tuning parts needed to be done.Especially with the splined cylinders and the length of the centre lock axle. Also I had to change materials on the centre threaded bush..This was done to ensure the friction knobs at the front of the assembly worked as needed to lock the handles in position. Also the K14 twist handle needed looking at as it needed to turn a bike cable to work the K14 gunsight wheel. If anyone has any questions or interested in one please PM me and Im quite happy to answer questions.
  15. Any progress?
  16. Slice and dice a 3D model of the F5 maybe?
  17. Being a NATO bird the instruments are a standard size.If you can find the manufacturer of the instruments they should have sizes posted somewhere online. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1946738/ Also try this https://designer.home.xs4all.nl/models/f5-72/f5-tiger-aircraft-man.htm
  18. Do you mean its too big for the bounding box?
  19. If you can get a good set of 3 view plans you can trace it in CAD then do a loft in 3D for a base to work your dimensions off.Yes Im wary of those sets and stuff for models.Best need look at real photos.
  20. If you can accurately work out the height you can print off the rest of it by dropping the model into the Z axis as a negative measurement.Looks amazing so far :)
  21. This might be a start. https://www.ebay.com/itm/F5E-F-AGGRESSOR-COCKPIT-instrument-panel-CDkit-/113256101280?oid=112628104548
  22. Hi Gladman, not sure if my Pm,s are getting through to you as Im new here.
  23. Some of the models I produce. https://www.shapeways.com/shops/spit And some of the work i do https://www.facebook.com/heatseaker3ddesign
