  1. Sounds like an idea for a mod to me.
  2. Good to know. Thanks guys.
  3. Hey guys, I have two quick questions: During start up I'm opening an closing the radiator doors and am meant to listen to check that they are functioning. I don't hear anything though. Am I missing something? Secondly, I press my comms button to use the radios but as soon as I stop pressing it the menu disappears. Anyone else seen this happen?
  4. My new hobby is taking off, landing and repeating with full realism. I still seem to land hard at 100mph. Not sure if I should be flaring more or keeping some speed up. Do you guys engage the tail wheel steering after touch down to not spin out? I'm still crashing out quite often!
  5. I think in Kutaisi there is a giant orange plane also.
  6. Getting that damn life raft to drop on target in F-18 Interceptor was such a pain! I got touchIR for my ipad but I've never set it up with DCS. I use a TrackIR head tracking and am more than happy to mouse click in the virtual cockpit. I do use my ipad and iphone to load iWarthog http://itunes.apple.com/nz/app/iwarthog/id441020577?mt=8. Get this for referencing airfield frequencies, procedures, anything. Highly recommended. I'm not sure what's wrong with your clouds sorry.
  7. By default I found the auto rudder and take off assist was on. Turning those off it's much more exciting!
  8. Norton sonar works by saying 'hmm not many people have this, must be malicious and unimportant, delete!' Never mind that its a newly released beta. If you click on the pop up and go 'options' you can click restore and ignore in future.
  9. Yeah save weight by reducing silly safety features. At least you have a parachute!
  10. FC3 plugging into the DCS World would be something that gets me to buy it unquestionably.
  11. But we just all upgraded to Windows 8 128bit.
  12. What does it do in the Windows controller properties? Does it have full motion there? You can change the saturation so that it has full function in the area you are able to move it in. I did this for my brakes so I didn't accidentally have a tiny bit of braking applied to one wheel or the other.
  13. I use the trim hat and DMS left & right for trimming.
  14. Should I set the RPM axis to my friction slider on the TM Warthog? Anyone else tried that?
  15. Hmmm I do remember that and it didn't bother me at the time so much as it does now! So landing with a bounce means I'm too fast right? I get the feeling if I come down at 90mph I'll be flaring so much that my tail will strike before the main gear.
  16. I kept the manifold pressure really low for my first takeoff. It doesn't seem to have any issues getting into the air!
  17. Lets just say I've realised how much of a thin veneer other WWII era simulators are compared to the DCS: Mustang.
  18. A quick video of my takeoff and landing. The landing is from my second flight as DCS crashes when I alt tab!
  19. Okay I'm up for the first time with no significant dramas! wow this feels like a plane that wants to kill. A huge congratulations to ED!
  20. ah but it can only do 6degrees whilst locked. Do you use differential braking to steer when it's free running?
  21. Ah i just re-read the taxiing section and it says full forward! Nevermind!
  22. Hey guys, I think something is wrong with my controls or I'm not getting it. It seems the tail wheel is totally free running but when I try to move I either turn sharply left or sharply right. I pull aft on the stick and it makes not difference. It's totally unsteerable. Any ideas?
  23. And the most important part - dynamic cockpit shadows!
  24. 6DOF would be very useful but a clickable cockpit with simplified avionics shouldn't be a show stopper. How many of the dials and buttons would actually work?
  25. I'm pretty sure it's 3D but just not clickable. Who cares! It's a bonus airframe to play online with (soooon!)
