  1. Use the "RETURN PRE-CONTACT" as your alarm ringtone, and you will never oversleep again
  2. Thank you, I wasn't aware of that. Didn't expect it to be related to the update.
  3. Crash on Login Good evening everybody, I've recently re-installed Windows 10 on my computer and haven't managed to run DCS yet. After I start the program and enter my credentials in order to log in, the loading bar freezes, and I get the error message "Unfortunately, DCS crashed." Hardware is more than sufficient, drivers are the latest, and there's barely any other software installed. I tried repairing and re-installing, of which neither has worked. I'm running out of ideas and would appreciate some help :) Crash log:

  5. Same issue here, almost got killed by a MiG-29 an hour ago because I wasn't able to drop the fuel tanks. I went over the natops manual and even rewatched Wags' cockpit overview video, but I still have no idea on how to drop them.
  6. I'm not sure if I understand correctly, but you should be able to do so by pressing the Sensor Control Switch in the direction of the DDI you want to be SOI. I've done it that way whilst being in A/A or A/G mode.
  7. I'm experiencing the same issue. Track file is attached. I had the game play in slow motion to see what was going on, and came to the following conclusion: - rockets aren't colliding with the aircraft - strong roll moment starts appearing just after the last rocked has been fired Viggen_Arak_Bug.trk
  8. Good evening everybody, Is it possible that the INS breaks more easily? I wanted to try out all the new weapons in the campaign, and right from the start of the second mission, the aircraft's position was misaligned by roughly 2000 miles. Restarting didn't help and INS re-alignment didn't work at all. Additionally, I was trying out a coop-mission which I created. Everything went smooth there and I didn't fly any aggressive maneuvers at all, but while approaching the carrier, I noticed that TACAN wasn't giving me any distance information (yes, it was in T/R mode). Bearing information was correct though. While figuring out what the issues was, I realized that the ADI was tilted by 30 degrees whilst flying level - same with the ADI on the MFCD. Interestingly, the HUD was displaying the correct orientation. Unfortunately, I forgot to create a track file and wanted to ask, if anyone has experienced the same issues. Track file will be added tomorrow.
  9. TWS is sufficient for a Phoenix launch as far as I know. Makes sense!
  10. So, as preparation for my role as a RIO tomorrow I've started thoroughly studying all the backseat stuff. Of course, the RIO pit features a weapon release button for the AIM-7 and AIM-54, which apparently is only available when the HOT TRIGGER condition is met. What requirements need to be fulfilled for this? Couldn't find anything in the manual.
  11. Absolutely agreed. We have been waiting for months now, some of us for years. Let's just keep it together for another three weeks at worst.
  12. Absolutely not! I've simply noticed that a large part of the community was being worried about the sometimes slow progress and therefore wanted to know more about what's going on behind the scenes, and ED allowed us to do so with an amount of transparency and honesty that only few developers can live up to.
  13. I think that I might be speaking for many here on the forums when I say that ED's communication as we have seen it during the last two weeks deserves some praise. Not only can I recall it to have been ever so transparent, but it also indicates that they care about the community, since this issue has often been addressed by the end of 2018. Thank you guys for your work, I'm really looking forward to Wednesday!

Certainly a good way to practice radar handling. However, there's usually an easier way to find a tanker. Most of the time, they provide a TACAN (Tactical Air Navigation I think :music_whistling:) signal. I'm not sure how far you guys have gotten into navigation yet, but it works pretty much the same way as finding airfields. 1. Hit the TCN button on your UFC (large keyboard underneath the HUD) 2. Enter the TACAN-Code of your tanker. This varies from mission to mission and is usually listed in the briefing. 3. Chose the A/A (air to air) option on the UFC 4. Activate TCN at the top left corner of your HSI page. Your HUD should now provide bearing and distance to the tanker :smilewink: as I've already said, it works almost in the same way for airfields. Their TACAN signal number can be found by clicking on them on the F10 map. Also, make sure that A/A is not selected on your UFC.
  15. I fly the A-10 from time to time. Rockets and gun are deadly accurate for me. Unfortunately, both seem to produce quite random results in the Hornet.
  16. I managed to get my hands on a used Thrustmaster Warthog. I really like it, but the Thrustmaster T.16000M HOTAS I used before, was amazing too. It uses the same sensor, so it's extremely accurate and it has arguably the better slew controls, a lot of buttons, a pinky wheel for zoom, plenty of four-way-hats... just a great system!
  17. You need to change the position of your HUD after takeoff and before landing by clicking on the HUD frame to the left of it.
  18. Just found this on the steam store. Really hoping that the release date shown is wrong :( https://store.steampowered.com/app/411893/DCS_F14_by_Heatblur_Simulations/
  19. Alright everyone, since I've "inherited" this mod from Home Fries (thank you!) I've opened a new thread where I will post updates and information concerning upcoming versions of this mod. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=222020
  20. Hi everyone! Home Fries has kindly allowed me to continue developing his JTAC mod for the Ka-50. At the moment, I'm still trying to figure out how the involved scripts exactly work, so I haven't really been able to do much yet. However, I still wanted to upload a version that works with the current iteration of DCS. How to set up JTAC in the mission editor for the Ka-50: Unfortunately, it isn't possible to change the R-828's frequencies in multiplayer at the moment. For the moment being, you have to make sure they're set up correctly in case of hosting a server yourself - or otherwise ask the host to do so. Best regards, Chris Ka-50 JTAC mod v.1.6.rar
  21. Home Fries, I consider myself a decent programmer and I think that the Shark isn't receiving the love it deserves these days. With your permission, I would happily give it a shot :smilewink:
