That's exactly what I'll be looking at.
-
I thought I got it working alright but it's still stuttering and getting double images. Pretty sure I've exhausted every option and setting now. Tried my g1 again just to message sure and it's so much better. The pico has far better tracking but the picture quality for me is not good at all. Sorry pico you've got to go back.

Virtual desktop. It seems the best solution for me at the minute.
-
I have been using dcs via steam vr while using the pico. This morning I tried open composite after reading a pussy on here about it. It's a lot smother with better visuals using open composite. I thought the point of open composite was to bypass steam vr being a bottleneck.
-
So how do you just run openxr without steam opening?
-
This is the link I used. The apk thing threw me for a while. You need to connect your pico to your pc via streaming assistant so it shows up in your file explorer. Download the file and drop it into your downloads folder on the pico. Then in the headset go into the downloads folder and run the apk file. This will bring up a new settings app on the headset where you can turn usb tethering on. Seems you need to turn usb tethering on every time you use the pico though.

No just usb from my pc to the headset. There is a video on you tube how to do it. It took me a while to figure out and it's a bit of a pain but it works. I tried the open composite today. Have a read of this https://mbucchia.github.io/OpenXR-Toolkit/opencomposite.html

So after threatening it that I was going to send it back it appears to be working slightly better. I'm using virtual desktop tethered by a dedicated USB 3 cable. Also using open composite so steam vr doesn't open. Visually it looks far better and the latency is down to under 60 but I'm getting terrible stutters especially when looking through the rotor disc or propellor. I also can't get open xr toolkit to open where it did before. Anything I'm doing wrong?
-
I think I'm going to have to admit defeat with this one. I've tried absolutely everything including virtual desktop with a usb link cable. The quality is worse than my g1 and nothing I do makes it better. I guess my 6800xt just isn't up to it and you really do need a 4090.
-
To be fair my issues aren't just with dcs. I've got Il2 but hardly ever use it. I get the same results with Il2 even though its far less taxing than dcs. It feels like a setting is wrong somewhere as I can't believe all these reviews are wrong.
-
So are all those reviews wrong or lies? Unless I'm missing something or got a setting wrong it's like a big step backwards.
-
Would I get better quality with a dedicated router? Would this overcome the usb bottleneck? I watched tons of reviews before I bought it who all raved about how good it was compared to the G2. From what I'm seeing is nowhere near as good.
-
I've got virtual desktop but have to use a usb cable as my WiFi is not good enough. I haven't got a dedicated router either as I didn't want to waste more money if the pico is going to be no good. I did get virtual desktop to work with usb once but it doesn't seem to work anymore.
-
Got myself a dedicated usb 3 cable not which is plugged into a usb 3 port. Latency is around 50ish and fps at around 70 on 100% resolution in steam vr and pixel density 1.0 in dcs. It doesn't look anywhere near as good as my old HP reverb g1. If I push these numbers up the latency goes up and fps goes drastically down but with no increase in image quality. I've pushed steam vr right up to 500% and it still looks the same but just looks blurry. Any ideas? I'm running out of patience with it.
-
Which file is it? This tall grass drives me mad and I would like to have a play around with it.
-
I've got virtual desktop but it doesn't seem a great deal better than SA. I've got a dedicated USB 3 cable coming tomorrow so I'll see what that's like.
-
Turns out the cable makes quite a difference. Thanks for pointing it out. Latency is down to 60ish using streaming assistant and the picture quality is a lot better. Still can't get into the MT dcs version though without it starting in 2d.
-
Hopefully you are on to something Sebastian. I tried my HP g1 earlier and the image is so much clearer. If rather use it over wifi but my router is in another room and I get very slow speeds. I connect my pc via the WiFi motherboard so not totally sure yet how to set up a dedicated router.
-
Ah didn't think about that. My extension is usb 3.0 but the small cable may not be. Would it make that much difference?
-
At the minute the best solution I have is a usb extension with a USB A to USB C converter then the supplied cable that plugs in the headset. It will connect to WiFi but it is so slow that everything is unplayable. I don't have a dedicated router or the correct USB link cable but didn't really want to go and buy all of it off I'm going to return the headset anyway. Could my setup be causing the low resolution? Whatever settings I change in the streaming assistant nothing changes in game.
-
I got my Pico 4 about a week ago and I can't get the thing to look good. I used to get decent frames on my G1 but with the Pico I'm getting about 20 FPS with 180-200 ms of latency! No matter whether I use USB via the streaming app or wifi it's a mess. The resolution is terrible too with everything blurry which doesn't change if I cange the resolution settings. Any ideas where I am going wrong before it gets retuned?
-
Is this going to be released as an AI aircraft first?
-
Got it running and set up. Over usb and streaming assistant the quality is great and it's really smooth. Over wifi it's unplayable. I'm assuming that is due to my router being downstairs.
-
I've gone and bought one now. Price was too good not to.

Sorry for being a bit thick. My main router is on the floor below and I connect my pc to the Internet via WiFi. How can I use a dedicated router next to my pc and leave my main router in a different room?
