  1. wip, doing non metallics. raf pattern B camo, i will attempt patterns A to E.
  2. ive been making some gorgeus images at 2160 on the vertical. well worth tinkering about with even with using just 1 single monitor. for a future project i might refine the detail upto double the resolutions on all the texture based assets and try some captures at 2160. that would produce some great results i think. but within the display processing thats used to display that 2160 down at 1080 i would like to know more about tbh. other than that effect its just a bigger picture with the same pixels to some degree. still its nicer. cant wait for 4k screen abbility.

  4. love the idea. but its still quite weak really. like that nasa game recently. If arma went to space properly. i`d buy that. ohh yes, i could see that as being as formidable a title as starcitizen might be !. Arma: Lets Get Space. lol. modding though for that could be good. and like TOH i bet you could add all arma content to it and who knows what it could be lol. it needs alien attacks and jetpacks and space apache.

  6. i have not seen it since release either. shame. but at the time i did not own the huey myself, just watching you guys in server that was.... maybe that has somthing to do with it ? Just like we never see our own rotor wash on landings. "Only others do we see". and besides nobody else has mentioned this effect anywhere, Meg we should test this theory i have soon. and here is my example of a much less ugly rotorblade. This rotor blade method is poorly concieved because at such an angle it dissapears. (rear blade) Would a full rotational disc blur be better ? im not so sure. i do appreciate the 3d model aspect within the spin.
  7. Thanks. That film was why i like to fly choppers in simulations and what sparked my flightsim interest in general. It was also why i bought a PC to do it with so long ago, It was also the inspiration behind my first user name which was 9th Aircav. I guess it is why iam here doing this malarky lol. YET thinking about it all.... its never been more enjoyable than now, today....... Finally at a decent level of fidelity that we can re-produce images that we are fond off (to some meaningfull extent) That is what i think i was subconciously trying to get to. Only making sense once i had stopped trying to make it resemble somthing -that is really what was uncanny about how it came about. For me it was literally waiting to happen and if i had known this at the time i would have positioned many hueys riding over the ocean NOE style, with photoshopped waves and the sun in the back as is. which i might try, haha, re-enactment of scenes from Apocalpyse Now with the UH-1H Huey, lol ! That could be a good community screenshot competition idea if in a broader sense of memorable aviation image recreation.

  10. seeing that made me think instantly, screw all other possible ww2 modules. i want STUKA for DCS. with multicockpit positions that would be a brilliant module in its own right.
  11. yes, i dont even need to see it to know its around. Hear it all the time when the weathers good.
  12. imo its not worth it untill 4K resolution becomes standard. then avg PPI figures for TV,s will be around the 100 mark. which will be twice as good as todays standard.
  13. hdr.lua and hdr.fx are your main culprits. ohh and sky.fx , they exist over in the effects & shaders folders what ive been doing is creating a modified game setup as i like it. And then reparing DCS (type repair dcs into start menu). this creates a backup folder in DCS main directory. In there are your modded files conveniantly packaged with same folder structure. using winmerge or notepad++ has a function to check files against each other. so with that you can keep track of what might be changing.

WTF ! how could i have missed this damn thread. i live in Blackpool, well.... near Cleveleys. <cries> i love the modern day appearance on this bird. and most others. what i hate is developers that think they "dont" see reflection, so they dont imply them on their model. so sad. this damn sim could look 5 times better with it.

  22. hand held GPS that does not interfere with the plane. now thats a great idea ! usable anywhere in anything.
