  1. choice is a good idea. but... unfortunatly this ground has been tread upon before. I would like pilots for all aircraft so that our track playback abbility has the highest immersion factor. surely thats good enough reason to implement this choice ?
  2. shapeways is a public site for 3dprinting and sharing of products etc. not sure about private sharing though.
  3. i dont get many of them other than they provide bland gameplay mechanics in the form of gameplay...but ETS2 has economics involved and by the representation that your running your own haulage company. It just so happens that you drive for this company too and have to manage your damaged equipment, Hire drivers, take jobs, play the game and get virtually rich.
  4. no you dont, they are fully controlable on the interface, you just cant enter their cockpit or expereince the AFM (Advanced physics etc etc)
  5. you still get access to the AI versions of these for mission making in DCS World. For hands on usage you would need the relevant ownership of the module itself. So if you want to fly the birds from cockpit you must own the module. Obviously the SU25 is free as part of DCS world and is usable from the get go. Combined Arms allows usage of ground vehicles via pseudo cockpit or external views

  8. A simple basis for the backbone of the sim in the form of a world. A Modders/3rd party playground for adding new theatres, eventually covering the globe. An open door to simply everything aeronuatical in DCS being a possibility without being subjected to not making sense due to the "Arena" so many reasons why a world is a no brainer in a flightsim. any flightsim.
  9. but what about a highly detailed area overlayed within the lowely detailed full globe in the same instance? surely thats a great idea ? thats all MS kinda did way back..... it had great functionality to bypass areas you didnt want to see/load on a local and continental basis which made the whole thing feesable imo.
  10. im sure a world is easily possible. its about swapping the terrain in and out of memory in order to accomodate the vast distances of terrain surely ? thats all Ms ever did really, no ? i cant help think this is conveniantly easy to do. its just a question of wether you want that or not. in MSFS all we did was travel and the scenery would load around you per say creating the illusion of a world with a worldly interface being the backbone of the sim. it was possible many moons ago, no reason why it could not be done now and worked even more efficiently.. i mean dx11 tesseltation didnt exist back then. nor 64 bit and allowable memory usage increases. Nevada could be just 1 chunk that loads ahead of you and thus we have the semi illusion of a world in similar "chunks" of data. and the rest being a low level scale presentation of the world to whatever degree deemed necissary." insert outerra here". at bare minimum even just a terrain arena selection screen in the form of a world globe would be nice and give great meaning to the World title DCS has.

  12. That is incredible and inspiring. nobody can argue with that level of detail. WOW ! regards photo realism its the lighting engine we really need now to achieve that....
  13. another handy tip can be to simply close the blinds/curtains on the windows. sunshine dont mix well also ive had a little room heater cause troubles too.
  14. excellent !i`ll be keen to find out how it is. i think maybe it could be a great device for occulus rift too given the inherent keyboard problems whilst wearing such a thing.

  16. im quite fond of turn based strategy games now because of this. allowing the thought time to impose itself tactically is much more engaging, and yeah the attrition value is rather apparent in multiplayer without making much sense but necessary given how they get balanced beyond reality. sacrifice that recon scout for intel gain isnt good at the end of the day. some naturally got really good with it to extraordinary extents which does show the game in a very good light tactically. i`d much rather have enjoyed wargame than what i did enjoy of starcraft of though. wargame lacked visual clues to enhance the fine tuned meta game that went on. SC kind of made the meta game understandable. i do love the airpower addition to this though, the turning circles and the disadvantages seem like somthing nice to play with. utlimatly in this vain id love some carrier battles sim in a naval style arena. infact wargame naval command if they went that route would be really great i think. subs, frigates, carriers offshore wep platforms, downed pilot rescue possibilities. SEAL attack groups. that could be quite good in the wargame style.

I hardly played the first game sadly. so this will be a 75% off on steam purchase. many of the beta players have put out lets play videos. i suggest watching them to ascertain wether its worth it over the last game. having not had the first title i would strongly suggest checking this new one out if its your thing.
  18. can i have confirmation that there is a graphical issue? can there be some indication when we might see a fix ? its been 3 updates i think without any attention to how our 51 looks in regards to these the most recent shader update. just wondering. if the anomolies are a placeholder for an effect that works with edge then it`d be nice to know too. . . . . . . . still no response.

BMP and TGA do not have mip maps. only DDS does. im sure thats why we use varying types of DDS. i dont think naming them xxxx.TGA.DDS is doing anything. if it ends ".dds" then its a DDS file mip maps are contained only within the dds file and mainly creatable via nvidia DDs plugins. have you tried saving via nvidia plugins with no mip maps ? and what dxt compression are you saving as ? my first cockpit mod, it might give help. but it might be out of date too. http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/181207/?sphrase_id=300379 i use a program called dxtbmp to ascertain the file information regards mipmaps and exact file compression type instead of opening with mip maps through nvidia plugins and counting them.
  20. no days to go. :( but not the end. :) May a great future for Rogue System lie ahead. there will be obstacles im sure, may Mr juliano`s sim have a bright ending to the journey that is Rogue System development. Good Luck with it m8 and holla for any artistic help !
  21. i just want to see the gaming industry in the correct arms of the worthy artists there are that do this. It is no ideological rant on my part sir. Where would ED be today with the corporate monster Ubisoft ? silent hunter anyone? cliffs of dover? hypothetically speaking maybe thats why we need backlash against what EA are trying to pull on the tried and tested franchise we know and love. simcity is one of them in my eyes. an important simulation game. a very ruined franchise. ..... wow MSFS springs to mind too.... let me pose a hypothetical plot line for another gaming entity we hold dear to our passions. im sure theres a hypothetical plot in there for a parallel vision of EA buying ED and just what exactly happens to the DCS title. get what i mean ? im sure you might even have your arms up in the air at that possibility ! no hardcore flighht sims anymore ? toned down for the mainstream etc etc.... that would be as ugly as this simcity debacle is mostly. That is why i see this as being so dangerous. I might loose another passion. I think the only argument to really be had about all this is that EA should not have applied these new methods on this old very much loved series. Simcity 4 is selling once again. why?, it should be obvious. possibly people didnt want what they were actually delivered ? Granted, it is their own fault then ? and if so why is this happening ? Dangerous territory. i mean lets look at pop music, and the hollywood film industry in terms of artistic merit ripped from the soul of the artfull in the name of more and bigger bucks. its the same thing. Gaming is not somthing i want to see commercialised beyond artistic merit and i am very very passionate about that. after all i exist here at the hardcore level of simulation. lets not let it become anything else as it easily could by already proven examples.

  24. 3 days to go. well thats a shame but the reality. i think upon each attempt you can probally increase those numbers two fold. folks have to see the whole thing in action with some finalised artwork imo. what about a simple subgame, to enhance the IP. and generate some dev cash. sword of the stars devs recently took what i see as a step back from there incredibly flawed creations to create a simple roguelike game in their universe and IP and well its quite enjoyable and makes a lot of sense and is probally bringing in more cash than there 2 main games lol. also in similar vain., the game killorbit is being created to generate funds for Mechlore. so this idea isnt anything new and it is very very plausable. so in this vain, and given your title rogue system, having a rouglelike game using the IP could be an avenue to go down. you already have some FPS concepts within your title that could easily be adapted to some simpler game mechanics that would sell. and well im loving the whole roguelike scene at the moment so thats why my idea exists as it does. Theres a quite a following for these cheap, Niche and incredibly playable projects. presently iam trying to envisage my idea of a roguelike game through my artwork ideas.... its presently like FTL v Aliens v Darkwood lol.
