  1. I like the idea of this. I guess its about conserving momentum etc ? But well... far to expensive. $45.
  2. hahaha. <thinking> mobile game has scenery not so dissimilar from present DCS scenery. roll on edge.
  3. it must be good along side TIR. then a left wink and a right wink for controlling them pesky switches hahaha.
  4. cant be a bad idea for cockpit clickology.
  5. Patiently awaiting my 2 new Ferrari in todays update, Both better than this one.
  6. LOL dont take this the wrong way but I cant afford a night out. i take the value in gaming very seriously and with that focused design element that is never related to gameplay other than to stifle it into a profitable submission, LOL .its like paying a blacked out window to open itself so i can see sunshine. the nightmare is that if it becomes mainstream popular then gaming stays in the dark and dawn never comes so no point in even opening the window that already stops you seeing the light.
  7. i agree, tbh i wouldnt be all over this if it had cockpits. quite the opposite, just being polite. And this is the is the amazing thing about star citizen imo. it has all the wonderfull aspects of alot of these tainted by F2P gameplay technology, and mmo style implementation, but SC isnt F2P or monthly subbed. so no tainted gameplay there by design. its all based on the simple enjoyability and common sense approach as a game and not the profitability of it. That is a major flaw to any of these titles because in no certain terms can these two abilities be balanced. i will never F2P any game no matter how well managed it maybe and however free it maybe. its simple inclusion means there is no gameplay. only gamepay and that only means profitability before any real enjoyment.
  8. wow! and i dont mean to be cheeky. seriously! but this is bonafide pro-games console argument. a good one too. this realm isnt really like that. We prevail in the exactly opposite attitude because this is deep enough to be a hobby. a fulltime hobby. One that exists over all our great age ranges.
  9. i`d be all over it if it had cockpits. thats my dream for space sims and has been for years, quality cockpits.
  10. login here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/ then click the serials link.
  11. you do have a few good points! my feeling is let the community take care of it. Ed could implement a peripheral setup help section on the forum and there could be some sort of initial setup download option handled by the community, we already have this as an option really but as i said earlier "Everyone got used to it". I think some emphasis would be a tremendous idea for the forum section. It is the only idea i can think of to help you in this matter. my personal feeling is that i realise without setting it up myself i just wouldnt be learning about what iam setting up, its a subtle and subconcious learning routine i actually appreciate.
  12. not everyone has your prefered peripheral. what you ask is simply unfair for everyone bar yourself. everyone got used to it. in its most basic and "out of the box" form, every module has a preset axis configuration for as you have stated the most basic form of setup. dont forget that covers everything mutually possible for all setups. from xbox controller to warthog. there is not a single plane in DCs world you can not simply jump in and fly. if a joystick is detected its axis are detected and applied in the most general format given the sheer scope of the peripherals on offer. Where this does not occur is down to the peripheral itself. and that is out with anyones control but the peripheral owner.
  13. ok ill make that happen. yes to all. no probs with the process and usage so far other than not appearing to own the huey on the http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/ website in my profile.
  14. same here, i have the heuy, gifted but it is still not appearing on my serials list. a support ticket was sent a long time ago by the gifter to have this changed over to my account as ownership. which still has not been done ! can i even expect that to be done?
  15. CA is worth every penny simply to see the action from another perspective. and given the playability within that of course its not realistic but it is the basis any realistic ground implementation can come from in this high end sim arena. and when a 3rd party adds something of significance that will change CA`s original worth. get it while its cheap, eventually it will make sense as a purchase.
  16. i KNOW i KNOW lo l:thumbup: ive made various posts suggesting a few things that are seemingly becoming true yet shot down at the time. one of the last was called DCS:aerobatics i think, only to get shot down in terms of concept by some folks who felt they were definetly in the know. it says Combat sim in the title so theres no chance your getting a BAE Hawk blah blah. So applying critical thinking to this, quite simply put, its now down to ED`s vetting abbility to provide the community with guaranteed quality content from these 3rd party developers. who will be the first group to fail ? surely that has to be part of the statistics or does anything go ? On a side note, ive watched the whole world go by and get better day by day in terms of similar technologies whilst im still sitting in 10 year old scenery with sub par graphics for todays generation, a continual abuse of very much out of date content through a seemingly modernised version of DCS so iam no stranger to not believing what iam told especially here. its marvelously handled with zero information from the horses mouth. marvelous. and yeah too much time has gone by milking what was concieved too long ago. another thought i have is that ED isn`t so strong, and its now relying on this 3rd party concept. because im thinking this could have easily happened long ago. but it didnt, apply your pro`s and con`s and im left with a conclusion. we are a dying bread. Yet it is only ourselves that keep it alive, imagine the mainstream doing this without major change for so long. i dont think so.
  17. wow you really have hit the nail on the head there. exactly what you have said has been in the back of my mind ever since a few certain announcments have been made. i would have never forseen the latest modern topguns getting announced before anything more appropriate and far more interesting and absolutely "DO-ABLE" older aircraft. none of it makes sense. i suggest any future models get the DCS stamp of approval. or not. make it clear from the get go! because nobody around here is going to be happy with any tom foolery. and yeah im happy with stating study sims are nearly extinct. and this too has been puzzling me, i merely ask why cant i have my apache AH64D on the other hand of the full study sims only ethos/quality question.
  18. That depends on the frequency of tracers put into the magazine surely? i mean as to what they are counting.
  19. very nice indeed, skinning is easy. Making the template for that is the interesting part and the part that is subject to artistic merit. I wish more folks would dable at that level with there talents.
  20. And the P51 raised the bar even more, when it comes to bare bones flight physics. my guess is these people took flaming cliffs 3 in the wrong way.
  21. thats right, i wish for a module that would take care of the study sim aspect of a human within an aircraft. what this means. the study of the human body within the aircraft could have a realistic G simulation, affecting eye sight quality and other tangable effects of restricted head movement. and restricted body movement. It could also simulate the left hand and right hand. ie you cant position throttle whilst presssing ... somthing on the left side etc etc. Breathing, oxygen flow correction...... list is endless. skeletal animations were mentioned lately. this module can incorporate that animation activity to re present full body movement and neck movement with switchology. it can be a study sim, not only of the aircraft aspects. it could be fused with a pilot logbook idea, and provide expereince gained where high G encounters matters or through training etc. etc.
  22. Interesting, good times ahead. hopefully sooner than later. i was wondering maybe this edge stuffs is actually years away.(im sure nevada is- lol) how the existing scenery works within will be interesting too. performance enhancements given the complexity of the newer stuff.? maybe i read that wrong.
  23. ok so this image generation tech is basicly half of edge (without the content we associate with edge), that being nevada. is that somewhat correct ?
