  1. Both the f-5 from flaming cliffs and the remastered full fidelity f-5e are not available for dcs 2.5.6 and the old f-5 has been pulled from sale on release of the remaster so probably you can only fly the tiger if you upgrade to a newer dcs version (maybe the old f-5e will be available to you if you buy the remastered f-5e but I don't think so, you would probably have to ask support directly if you want adefinite answer on that)
  2. Yes, checked just now (Friday @ 0550Z) There is a new working link, see the pinned template thread in this forum (the link on the main website download section however isn't fixed yet)
  3. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/upload/iblock/b2a/9yoy6dd67ant4eeg6uubso8aj4h13am1/F-5-E3_Template.rar is the template link also returning a 404 error for others?
  4. As the title says, all training missions that check for reticule depressions are not advancing, as I have read in other threads probably due to an update in the gunsight depression logic. I just was trying the module in the free trial thinking about buying it but it is not great to be unable to use multiple of the taining missions.
  5. Can't currently provide a track as I am not at my pc, but in my experience since the remaster I have to scroll for what feels like an eternity go uncage but wventually it does work.
  6. As per the title. The template is missing a description lua which makes it impossible to create a functioning livery with it as we currently are unable to create one with the modelviewer due to the encrypted nature of the remastered tiger. While the other issues of not having helmet textures available and not being able to work with the modelviewer (as per the thread in the main tiger section) probably need time fixing, we could at least get started on working with textures if we had a properly commented template description.lua with the texture names of the tiger and the argument numbers for the different antennas.

  7. I mean not having the model available in the modelviewer is one thing but why the <profanity> did they release the template without at least a description.lua with all the texture names and arguments for the different antennas documented in it? It would still be tedious to create liveries that way but at least it would be possible now it is completely impossible
  8. But has anyone even been able to make a skin show up from the template at all? Currently not possible without the description.lua or texture names, right?
  9. I think I have found a solution for this part. If you include both skins and both have the exact same name, then at least in multiplayer they match correctly if I understand the matching system in dcs correctly. Probably this would also work for assigning the correct livery for the player but I could not yet test that. But without access to the description.lua it is again hard to test these things.
  10. You have to be in the respective country to see all the skins
  11. expect slow progress as livery makers have to load into the sim every time they want to test something while woking on skins, as the f-5 now has a template but still can't be viewed in the modelviewer
  12. Any update on getting the ability to make skins for the f-5?
  13. Yep, would really appreciate an update on that. Losing all old skins is rough but understandable. Not having a texture template would also be understandable if we at least could make simple liveries from the included liveries but as they are encrypted that is also impossible. In my opinion, if liveries are encrypted, a module should not be released until the template is ready.
  14. outside model, yes and also the radar and rwr appear to be the swiss export version but the radio is not correct for the swiss version and the ins is missing that was installed in these birds. So it is a early us f-5e with an rwr and radar that only the export models received, strange combination
  15. not really, only few of the old default skins are confirmed, many more are not
  16. yep for example the new generic livery has a wrong registration in the cockpit and as the cockpit textures are encrypted, if they are not part of the paintkit, we can't change this (hope they are but we will only see with the paint kit release)
  17. no, the skins including their textures and their description luas are encrypted.
  18. correct, and also we son't be able to derrive our liveries from for example the default swiss livery, we'll have to create them from the template
  19. They are encrypted in the mods/aircraft/f-5e 2024 folder (location taken from memory so foldernames might not be 100% correct)
  20. those three were there already before, the old flyable one was the f-5e-3 and the new one replaces this one the f-5e (ai only) is the even older 3d model
  21. you probably have to choose the correct country for them to appear Previousely I would disable this requirement by deleting the country restriction in the description.lua of the liveries but these seem to be encrypted now.
  22. Yep, that they are not coexisting also probably means that if one person has the old tiger and one the new, they won't see each others liveries even if they have them but instead will see the standard tiger. Couldn't test it out yet but thats my guess. On a different note, they are calling the swiss tiger a generic tiger livery but with the decals it has on its nose it is not generic as only a hand full of airfcraft got the squadron-19 batch. I haven't checked yet but I suspect only one specific aircraft got the text on the other side of the nose. This would be no biggie if the liveries weren't encrypted and I could just remove those patches but as the liveries are encrypted we'll have to build our own swiss liveries from scratch again.
  23. I guess the reason for the other skins not being upgraded is that they were originally added after a skin-contest and with the updated model ED might not want or even not be allowed to include them.
  24. If it is actually the swiss version we are getting, as hinted in some older screenshots, it would mean a more modern radio set with both vhf and uhf (hence the big antenna on some of the screenshots) and a basic inertial naviagation system as the poster above you mentions. I would absolutely love that but i'll only get excited once I see cockpit screenshots.
  25. So since a few months I have the issue, that after starting dcs the first time in VR, my head movement is not tracked and I have to close dcs, then restart it and then it works. It however only works if I start it via the shortcut on the desktop, if I start it via the shortcut on the start menu for example, it wont work. Does anyone have an idea why? I am on windows 10 using a samsung odyssey+ with windows mixed reality portal. dcs.log
