  1. A sensible person might conclude that the problem is with the DCS build and not our missions / scripts causing this crash on the servers
  2. I am hoping for a patch tomorrow that fixes this ...... if it doesnt that is a major MP ruining bug with 3 failed patches ... ... think that will defo be time to revert the servers back to 3 builds ago when MP actually worked

  10. on dedicated server sadly , you cannot get the initiator at all which is a bummer :-(
  11. Some times with this "on player connect" crash a few different thing happen 1. Games dies instantly, log just stops dead in its tracks 2. You get a partial message or two after hte failure 3. You get a full dump that manages to get ziped up
  12. and again, this time I have a client log and the server pooping itself logs this was just after server started was doing some testing (so I was the first client connecting) client.dcs.log dcs.log-20201113-161711.zip
  13. feel free to post an attempt fixed dcs.exe if you want us to try using it and give you feedback , we (as in us public server hosters) seem to be able to cause crashes pretty easily at the moment
  14. yeah it looks like just before crash last thing that happens is a new client connects, then DCS poops itself :-(

  16. @thornx in you incomplete log you posted above .......... were the couple of lines above where you started pasting your log a connection by any chance ?

  18. Server Hosters: Note that each time the server craps itself it will create a large *.hdmp file, *.dmp and also some *.mdmp files .... these will take a lot of hard drive space you might want to delete them , it was at 17Gigabytes on my server

  21. I think the bar for being a DCS open beta tester is pretty high, I applied to be one and didn't even get a reply back. I have been testing software since 1998 as my full time job, so I do know a bit about how to do it I wish the dcs.logs gave out a bit more info that might help ED track this down quickly

I have fixed the single script that was generating an error in the log, I wonder can ED maybe look at the 1,00s of other error messages generated by DCS in the log file now (even before MP is up and running)? This crash best as I can tell has nothing to do with scripts or mods (as I have removed SLMOD from the server) It is like something is wrong in the net connecting code when a new player joins a server It might be time for ED to start to perform some testing on DCS builds in Multiplayer, even some basic sanity testing might be useful, just a suggestion mind you
  23. you are not alone Alpenwolf, last 2 patches do not work in MP properly, I hope ED will maybe start doing MP dedicated server testing before releasing builds
