from todays change log (of the updater) Version 2.10.7: - New code signing certificate. Signer: Eagle Dynamics SA. - Added --quiet option for no-questions-asked updates. Usage: DCS_updater.exe --quiet update - Repair now tries to update the updater first. -
Why was the assets pack not free?

The WW2 asset pack should have been a free part of the core game Eagle Dynamics should then have sold WW2 Combined Arms module to make money from it This way every one could play together in online multiplayer using these assets and people who want to directly control them could pay to do that This way we would not have issues with MP community being split, when some have it and others do not -
Updated this as the User Interface has changed a bit

It is not free because Eagle Dynamics wanted to split the multiplayer community into the haves and have nots -

Mission - Dictionary file not updated

sadly the DCS editor does not seem to be clever enough to delete un-used entries in dictionary file, it just seem to grow bigger and bigger on each change -
you should really post the mission you guys were playing to see if other people have issues with it

Thanks for replying Big Newy I appreciate your time, Happy new year and stay safe out there I was looking to use this sort of stuff for my helicopter submarine hunting mission ... but if wounded and smoke while submerged it breakes the immersion

See attached mission If a submarine is submerged (under water) and it damaged the fire/smoke still happens This should only happen if the submarine is surfaced ( depth = zero) Most of the time fire does not burn under water underwater_fire.zip

Since there is no way to turn off the big fire objects in DCS you can use the destroy command to get rid of them (when you want the fire to go out) This sadly will only work in single player If you try to do the same thing in DEDICATED MULTIPLAYER SERVER it will not work See attached miz file Instructions to reproduce SP test 1. Load this mission in DCS mission editor 2. run the mission 3. Observe the BTR in F7 view 4. To the north of it is a big fire .... it is burning 5. Wait 20 seconds the fire dissappears (there will be a message) MP DEDICATED SERVER test 1. Load this mission on YOUR DEDICATED MP server - NOT just host your own MP server , there is a difference, make sure you server pauses with no clients connected 2. Connect to the DEDICATED DCS SERVER as a client 3. Observe the BTR in F7 view 4. To the north of it is a big fire .... it is burning 5. Wait 20 seconds the fire does NOT dissappear (there will be a message) You cannot delete the fire object in DCS DEDICATED server but you can when running the mission in the mission editor/SP fire_bug_mp_test.zip

you will need to use joystick gremlin for that
