  1. Ok all. First the disclaimer. Not everyone will be able to do this for various reasons but if possible bring the refresh rate on your monitors down to 30, and then go into settings and click V sync. It does not removed the problem entirely but it makes the stutter much, much less and now things are at least playable. If your settings are realistic with regard to your own hardware you should be able to get a relatively steady 30FPS. For those of you who are like me and used to get a steady result of between 60-80, its not a return to that kind of fluidity an response rate. But it makes things relatively playable. Late edit: results are not universally great. I tried my F18 over Persian Gulf and although the pauses were not as frequent or prolonged as had been, they were nevertheless still there and conspicuous enough to be bloody annoying again.
  2. Ive been banging on about this for weeks and searched through every suggested solution that I can find. My DCS used to be smooth as silk and now I don't go on there except to go on the forums to see if there has been a solution. Ive been onto DCS and they are aware of the problem and are working on it but hitherto they've not found a solution. Ive come on site today because it is Wednesday and the hope is that the Wednesday update might contain something. Unfortunately it seems to be stumping the guys at ED at t he mo. Neil
  3. I should add that my 'Function Discovery Resource Publication ' wasn't even on in th efirst place. And when out of desperation I dsabled the damn thing it didn't make an ounce of difference.
  4. Yep, me too, and that was after Wednesday when I announced triumphantly that with that update at last my smooth performance and decent FPS had returned (sigh!).
  5. I wrote a thread which seems to have disappeared in which I pointed out that despite having previously been convinced that the stutters were the result of WiFi - , the reason being that when I shut WiFi down at the level of the OS the stuttering stopped - yet now such remedies don't work so I have to wonder whether it is actually to do with these things after all.
  6. I really am sorry for those of you who are still experiencing problems, I know how frustrating it can be when someone tells all that everything is now brilliant whilst you are still experiencing stutters and crashes but - well, after this last update I seem to have my 60-70 FPS, pretty smooth, non stuttering and no crashing performance back. Has anyone else had this experience?
  7. Thanks guys will try what you suggest today
  8. Everything is newly setup which is not to say all is ok just because of that but because only two weeks ago all was running fine and all is running well still with everything else including P3sv4 and X Plane 11.
  9. Ok, thanks for the reply. I have an i9 7000x, a GTX 1080Ti, 32 GB DDR 5 Ram, SSD 1TB. I usually have smooth and silk, even in VR. But lately it has been a bit of a nightmare.
  10. I apologise somewhat for my hectoring tone last night, it’s just that my DCS has always been so stable and reliable until now. Do your best guys
  11. I am reaching such levels of frustration with regard to crashes and stutters in DCS. Just so that you know I’m not prone to react negatively over trivialities, I now crash EVERY SINGLE TIME. I realise that we are dealing with a Beta product and issues like this will arise from time to time, but for the love of God please fix it. And by the way I think the business of disallowing the creation of tickets regarding technical issues in Beta to be a bit of s kop-out, and it really wouldn’t hurt to make direct contact with the fee paying public to address specific issues like these. I’m confident you are doing what you can just please let us know you have heard and tell us what you are doing to try and sort this out. As for my own 4 penny worth on what might be going on, there is a great deal of comment on the performance forum about the relationship between stutters and Ethernet. I think this may be related to the crashes as well as DCS attempts to operate a complicated process just as the stutter causing WiFi interference hits. Anyway, please address yourself to this guys or at least tell us that you know what is happening and how your trying to deal with it. Thanks Neil
  12. Hi BIGNEWY, thanks for responding. I will also look at the sound that I am using since this has changed recently, however the problem went away completely, and there was even a rise in FPS when I switched off my Ethernet in win 10. This has been brought up in a thread elsewhere but I had forgotten that turning the wifi off in the game doesn't help, it has to be turned off in win 10. Now, win 10 has had a big update recently, could this be the problem?
  13. Hello all I've raised a post on this subject before but sadly after the latest update the problem remains, and hopefully I shall provide some more information this time. The stutters in question involve every two to three seconds, sometimes more irregularly, split second interruptions in both movement and sound. The crashes have been frequent as has been said by many others. Here are my computer specs and attached are a series of files recording crashes. • Asus PRIME X299-A Motherboard • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB Graphics Card • 32GB DDR4 2400MHz Memory (2 x 16GB Sticks) • Intel Core i9-7900X CPU, 10 Cores, 3.3 - 4.3GHz • Corsair Hydro H100x CPU Cooler • Windows 10 Home 64-bit • Corsair RM850x 80 PLUS Gold 850W PSU dcs.log-20180619-194504.zip
  14. My post was more an act of desperation than the plea of a rational man, and as for crash logs? Well they have been making their way to DCS by the truck load all week, as are those of much of the rest of the community I suspect. Nevertheless I take your point (even if it is a little bit preachy), and I will post another with crash log when I get back to my computer. Actually I’ve wondered whether it is anything to do with DCS at all since there has recently been a Windows 10 update and they are notorious for this sort of thing.
  15. Oh dear, I've never had DCS behave like this before. I hope some updates might help to sort things out. I'm stuttering and every other attempt to start up results in a crash. Please help.
  16. Thanks guys, lots to think on. I'm using Occllus Rift. This was actually my second flight as I had flown in DCS Beta but it was terrible, but having reverted to release it is much smoother. I have a HOTAS Wharthog at the mo, and I didn't know you could use the mouse. I've just been using rghe tough controllers.
  17. I’ve just set up and taken my first flight in a VR cockpit in DCS. It is wonderful, an incredible experience. However, I’ve now got so many questions. How do you guys use your joystick, flick switches (I get the basic idea but sometimes a switch goes one way and not another). What I mean is, what practical ways do you use to operate throttle, stick, etc. If there is a good guide I would be most grateful if someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks. Neil.
  18. In P3Dv4 you are able to uninstall P3D if there is a problem, but upon reinstall all the add ons' will still be there. Please can you tell me if I would be able to uninstall DCS World 2.5 Beta, then reinstall the release version without having to re-install/activate my installed modules? I'm afraid the DCS Beta is driving me mad at the moment and I just want my old good performance back.
  19. Art-J is right, sorry about that, wrote in a rush and didn’t check. On my old monitor max resolution 1920 1080, it was clear, but having switched to 4K its got really tiny.
  20. I've put the GUI option on since I got my 4K monitor and everything has expanded to accommodate the greater size etc, except for the text that is brought up when you press Rshift and Pause break. Does anyone know how to make this bigger as I am an old codger and it is far too small for me at the mo.
  21. Ok, don't understand but I'm not complaining. I seem to have both on line and smooth performance again.
  22. Yep, I turned off wireless network and things went smooth again. This had not been a problemfor me until the last update.
