I’ve seen a picture recently of an AV 8B armed with AIM 120’s as well as AIM 9’s and an array of bombs. I was just wondering whether our model would have, in real life, AIM 120’s and if so whether there are any plans to add this weapon at a future date? Thanks. NeilG.

You'll see that only get as far as first station. Lat is fine but go for Long and manage first three stations whilst when I go to punch in fourth (dec seconds), it seems that its asking me to start again.

I hope Ive managed to upload the track. thanks all. Data Entry JDAM bombing.trk

Ah right, thanks . Will do. It’s 9.30 pm here so will do in the morning. Thanks guys.

Forgive my ignorance guys but what is a ‘track’, do you mean screenshot?

Hi guys, I don’t what I am doing wrong but when I feed in information for lat and long co-ordinates for a pre-planned JDAM bomb mission, I can generally do long’d ok, that is I can feed all categories etc down to dec seconds remaining, but in lat I cannot finish off the dec seconds remaining. This would not matter except that if you can’t feed it all in then none of the Lat co ordinates will go in. I feed in the first three categories, press enter, wait for the entry window to reset and then go to enter the remaining decimal seconds and it just won’t feed in. Can anyone help, would be most grateful. Thanks. Neil.

Thanks for replying. I have all the DCS modules installed at the mo, I'm running the latest beta, and I have TB's of flight sim stuff but I cannot think of anything that could be a candidate for interfering with the Esc button. I see your point, though, I shall do some exploring. Thank you.

I have used the usual cures, and now I have uninstalled and reinstalled and it is still tha same. I dont think I was entirely clear though havinig re-read my original post. When I load the KA, everything works fine except that I cannot use escape either to adjust the controls or to close down the session. So I dont really mean that is hangs, but it is awkward because I need to adjust controls etc. Anyway, I wonder is anyone else experiences that and does anyone know what might need to be done. Thanks all. Neil.

Hello, Am I the only one having trouble entering the rear cockpit. I have it mapped to 2 but stab away and nothing. Can anyone help please? Thanks Neil.

I anyone experiencing a problem with the KA causing a kind of half system hang in the sense of not being able to exit, or enter preferences.

It seems that there is a great deal of very sound, calm sense on this DCS forum. Thank you fir your replies and I pray you all come through this without too much stress and hurt.

Dear all, wherever you are. With this virus travelling its wretched way around the world I just wanted to send my best wishes to everyone around the globe and particularly everyone in China and Italy that is believed to be the worst hit. May you all stay safe, if you have a God may he keep you healthy and at peace, and may we all come through this wiser and stronger. I’m a priest so I hope you don’t mind me wishing you all God’s blessing. Neil

I don't mean to upset anyone, I can understand the frustration that some people are experiencing, but remember that beta is an experimental mode and things are pushed out that seem to work back with the developers but they need to see how it all fairs across the massive range of different set-ups that we all have. I don't think it is quite fair to talk about taking steps back since the gap between the sim as it was only 5 years ago and now is huge and the technical sophistication of flight models, look of externals and cockpits etc, has been nothing less than revolutionary. One of the reasons for that has been us and our willingness to try stuff out. So hopefully there will be a resolution but if not just keep testing and reporting and that will hope to move things further forward. Take care Neil

I’ve dropped a fair bit in performance. It’s not unplayable by any means but it is noticeable because I used to get between 60-70, now it is more like 40-50, maybe even 35. Where it worries me is where there are lots of wingmen and battle field elements and enemy aircraft etc. Haven’t done that yet but I fear it might grind things down t something not particularly playable.

I was just wondering whether the AV-8b Has a facility for carrying a greater range of A2A missiles in real life or whether what we have constitiutes the whole of what that aircraft is capable of. Love it anyway, but wondered whether if it was capable of more A2A, that might be a later development? Thanks Neil.

Yes, Id like a bit of help there! Thanks

To some degree my patience with this and all the modules stems from the fact that it frankly takes a heck of allot of time to learn how to employ these functions anyway. The longer I have been in flight simming the more and more sophisticated the models have become and when you consider how long it takes for properly trained pilots to learn these thing, although there are limits to the comparison of course, yet it gives us an idea about how long it should take us. So if some functions are not yet implemented, well I'm probably not ready for them anyway.

I was really quite pleased to see that Razbam and Mitech are getting together. I have an intuition more than an assumption based on an awareness rooted in factual understanding - that these kinds of amalgamations in which resources are pooled and ideas shared, should make for quicker and more comprehensive models. So I wish the alliance luck and look forward to what is produced out of it. Neil.

Can I ask, please: does the new map join into the Normandy map? If so that would be wonderful. Thank you Neil.

Our ancestors in Western Europe used to have nearly a third if the year off in Holy-days throughout the liturgical year. Christmas stretched from the beginning of December through to the eve of Candlemas which was 40 days after Christmas Day. It’s only been since the reformation (15th - 16th century) and the rise of capitalism that these holidays have been so drastically cut down. Russian Orthodoxy seems to regard Epiphany on the 6th Jan as the big day of celebration. Our western capitalist society is fairly unique in the history of human civilisation with its ethic of industriousness and hard-busy work as almost religious virtues, and a rationalistic emphasis upon getting the greatest efficient output from the human component: you suspect the machine would put us to work 24/7 if it could. I especially feel sorry for you guys in the states. When I was over in California and Arizona I couldn’t believe how short you holidays were. Sorry about tge sermon, I am a Church if Engkand cleric and I do this stuff for a living. Still, I get tge feeling tge expected updates are soon coming. Neil

Hello I always want all the maps to be larger but I am a particular fan of the Nev map and that part of the world where I've actually holidayed. I know that devising a map that can be fought over etc can take a great deal of time to devise but is it possible to at least extend the map with the desert terrain toward, say, Grand Canyon, or South West toward Edwards, Utah an California? For a hard core flight simmer just the joy of flying good military aircraft over these areas would be great. Thanks Neil.

Hello. I can see why you asked the question but I hope you have managed to see the pre-release video now. What's coming looks quite stunning to me but of course people have different perceptions of these things.

Hello I am always the one with the boring question but having just looked at the stunningly beautiful work of art that is the up and coming carrier model, and thought how much I would love to get it, yet I must ask: how does it perform? It looks like an amazingly complex module and as beautiful as it is I cant go down the road again of buying something that frustrates because it is like a slide show. Can someone give me an idea please? Thanks Neil.
