Missions 9 until 15... Buggy
King39 replied to PhoenixFC3's topic in DCS: A-10C Operation Agile Spear Campaign
@PhoenixFC3 You were correct and I was wrong. After a review of most of the missions, we can see there are many problems, some significant, which requires a thorough scrub of the entire campaign. This will take some time but rest assured, we are working diligently to correct and update the campaign. Again, we are profoundly sorry for the problems you encountered and hope we will be able to create a positive playing environment for you in the future., John -
Hello Patricio,
I know that you probably get alot of specific requests for more 3D items to be included in your Mission Pack but I would like to make one more request:
As a 3rd Party developer specific to the A-10C, I would really like to be able to create temporary or expedient Forward Operating Bases which could "service" the A-10, Harrier, or any other jet capable of operating out of a forward location. While I've created several FOBs for my upcoming Operation Syrian Freedom campaign using 1-1.5 mile lengths of straight, flat roadways, I'd REALLY like to be able to create a more realistic field expedient runway using something like the old Marston Matt which was widely used in WW II, Vietnam, and even up to Desert Storm/Shield. So, I was hoping you could develop something similar to the Marston Matt which could be incorporated into the DCS core mission pack.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marston_Mat
Please feel free to reach out to me either here or directly via email at John.schiller@gmail.com
Again, thank you for your diligence and hard work in creating this wonderful addition to the DCS community.
John

Missions 9 until 15... Buggy
King39 replied to PhoenixFC3's topic in DCS: A-10C Operation Agile Spear Campaign
@PhoenixFC3 I'm sorry you're disappointed with your experience with Operation Agile Spear and sincerely hoped it would have been more enjoyable. But, I take exception to your comments regarding the updating of the campaign. Specifically, the fact that you feel the campaign has been abandoned and not updated is troubling as you must have forgotten or ignored the eleven (11) updates the campaign has undergone since it was released, the most recent of which was no less than December of 2024, AND that those updates were in direct response to your specific criticisms. Additionally, your assertion that "good developers" would be able to "dodge" bugs and anticipate core update problems with "failsafe" triggers is simply unrealistic and screams of immaturity on your part. The HARD FACT is that the Eagle Dynamics software team has been working VERY hard to expand the capabilities of the core game - specifically the AI logic code - and that the 3rd party developers, again myself included, have had to play catch-up to each and every change to the AI behavior. Mission scenarios which worked beautifully when released, quickly become unplayable when the the AI behave differently AFTER EVERY ONE OF THESE UPDATES. Again, while I understand and share your frustration, YOU need to understand that these changes will ultimately make DCS a better gaming environment and that all the developers are working VERY hard to integrate these changes into our products. But these changes will not, and do not, happen overnight and a little forbearance on your part would go a long way. EVERY effort has been, and will continue to be, made to create an immersive and fun environment for players of Agile Spear (as do ALL of the 3rd party devs). I encourage you to read the changelogs of each DCS update so you get a better understanding of the work that goes on behind the scenes. -
FYI, Agile Spear version 2.60 was included in the 24 December DCS World update. Happy Holidays to you and your families. John

Hey Scoop, Thanks for sharing this problem. Typically, crashes are caused within the core game itself and USUALLY not from a specific mission or event. Having said that, it does happen from time to time but seeing thst this is the first time reported since the campaign went live 2 years ago I suspect the core game is the culprit BUT wil promise to look into it this week. Can't promise any fixes will make the next update as I just uploaded an updated campaign just last night but will try. John

Issue with Wingman Tracking in Campaign
King39 replied to Seether1980's topic in DCS: A-10C Operation Agile Spear Campaign
Hello, I've just reviewed these missions and can confirm the TN #'s have been changed somehow. When or how I have no idea but I'll scrub all the missions to correct this problem. Thanks for letting me know @Seether1980. -
Issue with Wingman Tracking in Campaign
King39 replied to Seether1980's topic in DCS: A-10C Operation Agile Spear Campaign
Hello Everyone, This condition does pop up from time to time so it's not a problem specific to a mission as it has to do with updates to the DCS core game. That is, if it worked previously) and it has up to this point) and now it doesn't (we haven't made any changes to mission aircraft Datalink settings - TN numbers) then this is a new development related to updates. Regardless, I'll have a look and see if I can do anything. Thank you. -
Crush to desktop mission 1
King39 replied to Maciej2410's topic in DCS: A-10C Operation Agile Spear Campaign
Good. As I suspected, most if not all, game crashes are due to a problem with the core game module and typical will not be a result of a mission problem. -
Issue with Wingman Tracking in Campaign
King39 replied to Seether1980's topic in DCS: A-10C Operation Agile Spear Campaign
Hello,\This will most likely not have anything to do with one of your settings as it probably is with one of the recent updates has changed something within the DCS Core game. Which mission and at what point do you lose contact with wingman on your TAD? -
Crush to desktop mission 1
King39 replied to Maciej2410's topic in DCS: A-10C Operation Agile Spear Campaign
Thanks everyone for informing us of this issue and I am very sorry this is occurring. While I'm not denying this is happening or is happening directly related to this mission, I would have to consult with E.D. in how to prevent these occurrences from continuing. Having said that, I would offer that, behind the scenes, E.D. is actively working to enhance DCS performance and we may be seeing some byproducts of these attempts. Let me look into it. -
Mission 13 and 14 - bugs
King39 replied to ornitus's topic in DCS: A-10C Operation Agile Spear Campaign
You really shouldn't have run out of fuel with the extra external tank which is the way I designed this mission. I'm guessing that you didn't enable the external tank on the fuels panel and then selecting it. -

OK, let me take a look at these problems. -
Mission 12 crashing and more problems
King39 replied to ornitus's topic in DCS: A-10C Operation Agile Spear Campaign
Hello, Sorry for the problems you are having with this mission,. While I'm not diverting responsibility for mission bugs, game crashes are less about problems with individual missions and more DCS World problems and/or memory leaks on individual PCs. When DCS World crashes, it's important to access the dcs.log file to properly determine the cause. The dcs.log file will normally be found in the %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS\Logs. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/support_ticket/ Now, having said that, I will go through this mission and see if there's anything we can fix or optimize. One last thing, you should know that E.D. is actively working on a number of issues and fixes have been or will be released in the near future. -
Just looked at the mission and you shouldn't have a problem with the JTAC lasing anymore. As outlined in the mission overview, this is a campaign of increasing intensity and difficulty and surface threats and degrading weather more accurately reflect real-world flight conditions. Warfare is NEVER, EVER only engaged in nice, shiny, clear weather conditions and aircrew are frequently forced to engage the enemy in less than ideal conditions. The weather conditions portrayed in Mission 11 are no where near minimums (weather) and are not in a peer, or near-peer environment (SAMs and AAA). REMEMBER , maintaining ALTITUDE and DISTANCE from the threat will allow you to complete all the missions without difficulty. Flying low and close, while more fun, will only get you shot down. I would also HIGHLY suggest reading the README FIRST document in the Docs folder in: USER > Saved Games > DCS > Missions > Campaigns > en > Docs. It explains many facets of this campaign. Again, I would read the README FIRST document as it explains how to use the new F10 radio menu. Yes, this was a problem just pointed out a few days ago and has been corrected in the next release of DCS World and we apologize for this error. I hope this helps make the campaign an enjoyable experience for you which is what we at Combat King Simulations strive to give you, the player, in these missions.
