  1. I found this way, which I thought was easier: Just copy and paste another icon on the desktop add --force_disable_VR in the target line. My screenshot tells all...
  2. It's not full circle until I see a 172 on the runway at Miegs!
  3. Nice teaser. I can’t identify it.
  4. I’m unfamiliar with the bug. Does this mean laser spot is only good up to 8nm away?
  5. Search for “DCS buddy lasing” on google and you’ll find everything. Here’s just one I found for you.
  6. I liked the built-in ones for convenience, but too much sound would bleed through and bother my wife who works on another computer in same room. I switched to the Bose since they cup my ears. I also use them IRL with the NFlightMic when flying around in Cessnas, so it’s the same feeling on my ears whether in a real plane or DCS.
  7. I will add to the above that I removed the Rift earphones and am using my Bose QC35 instead. It’s much better of course, and I do get 3D audio with it. I’m connected wirelessly with Bluetooth. I would imagine other similar headsets would be similar in performance.
  8. As a real pilot, sometimes when I check in with ground or clearance it also take 5 minutes! Not sure what your issue is. I’m new to DCS altogether and it just worked fine for me from the get-go. I just purchased the 3 Maple Leaf campaigns since they are on sale now so I can continue my training. I felt quite unsatisfied with the in-game training. It was enough to tease me, but nothing really to learn from. I’ve learned a lot more from YouTube. After I was done with training and YouTubing, I tried a mission and got smoked. There’s still plenty to learn before hopping in on the action. I’m having fun doing it though. As long as I’m flying I’m happy. Don’t rush the training. Good luck.
  9. Thanks for the response, but I got it figured out. There was another thread with this topic that I didn’t see until now. No need for another app. You can just edit the target for the shortcut to force it into non-vr mode.
  10. Is there anyway to launch DCS without Oculus opening up? Sometimes I unplug the Rift and just want to play “2D”, but whenever I launch DCS, Oculus opens too. If I close Oculus, it also kills DCS. Bonus question: Is there a way to leave the headset plugged in, but launch DCS in non-VR mode, without Oculus opening up? I hate having to unplug the headset all the time. I’m sure I’ll wear out the USB connectors in no time. I’d like to have two shortcuts on my desktop. One that launches DCS in VR mode with Oculus, and one that launches DCS without Oculus. Possible? Thanks in advance.
  11. I am also new to the A10 and just completed the training. I found the space bar to be finicky, but not broken. Sometimes after pressing it, it would take another minute or two before the lesson continued. Just press it and wait until you reach the next mission sequencing point. I never had it take more than 1 to 2 minutes, so if that’s the case then perhaps it is broken or you are flying in the wrong direction. If you circle back around to the previous waypoint, it may trigger the next sequence.
  12. That must be it. I would always slow down and add speed brakes to maximize my time for shooting. I’ll have to speed it up! Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Looking forward to hearing it. I have a question related to the gun: When watching some YouTube videos, I see that when people fire the gun, the pipper stays on the target. However, when I fire the gun, there is a kick and the nose pitches up slightly. I have the PAC active. What gives? Were those videos from an old version? I can’t give more than a 1/2 second burst of rounds before I’m completely missing the target. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I'm a little confused after attempting to try this. I found the file you mentioned, but what exactly do I need to do to prevent the Oculus app from opening when I double-click the DCS icon on my desktop?
  15. I'm going to have to try this. Thanks. How about those Touch controllers? How do I make it so I can't see them when I'm in the cockpit. I've tried hiding them in a drawer, also putting them in a different room in the house, but Oculus always seems to remember their last known position and the virtual hands are still visible when I'm in the cockpit. I have to put the Touch controllers underneath my chair since I'm not usually looking straight down anyway. New to Oculus and DCS, so go easy on me :) Thanks.
  16. See photo below. True eye position seems to be above the HUD.
  17. I just got a new PC last month and am brand new to DCS so I have nothing to compare it to, but I have the 2080 (non Ti) with the Rift CV1, all graphics settings cranked to maximum, and there’s not much “virtual” about the reality :) The only true reality is that I have lost lots of precious sleep ever since getting the Rift. It keeps me happy. You will enjoy too. After I spend the next few months learning to operate the A10, I’ll be looking for some other VR pilots for multiplayer.
  18. Hey all, I was in the main DCS folder last night and searched for *.bmp. I saw a file called A-10 cockpit glass.bmp... or something like that. I'm not on my home PC at the moment so I don't know the exact name, but it was obvious when I saw it. The thumbnail image looked like just the yellow/green color. Perhaps if you edit it, it may change the glass tint color? I'll leave that up to someone else to try and provide feedback. I'm fine with the color as is...just wanted to throw this out there...
