  1. I always jot down the info on paper just in case the data doesn’t come through. You won’t always get data. If you have the info, you can create a new waypoint with the info. It looks like you’ll have to do a complete uninstall and reinstall of the modules now [emoji1787]
  2. Ok thanks. No need to hurry if you need to focus on TEW 3.0 stuff. I've already figured out how to edit the .lua to skip the mission. If you ever get around to looking into it, it would be for my curiosity only as to why I couldn't pass the mission. I don't think this would be a replayable mission for me. Flying around in the dark and shooting ILS approaches is fun, but I still like to look out and enjoy the scenery :) Thanks!
  3. Just replayed it. Same issue. No need to fix anything because I already have TEW 3.0. I'd like to continue playing the legacy version for now, but need to know how to force it to let me go on to the next mission. After told to RTB, I'm then given a new task to destroy some mortar teams. The infantry are easy to kill, but the mortars themselves are indestructible. I shot them with everything I have and even dropped bombs on them. The post game log does not show them as "Dead". Could this be the trigger preventing me from continuing? Wingman and I destroyed the first group of 3 stolen vehicles, but only 1 of the next group of 3 before they reached the border. Overlord also told me several times that I had entered Armenian airspace. I was watching the TAD closely this time and had not crossed the border. I'm curious where the triggers are and why I've failed to get a debrief, but it really doesn't matter because I'd just like to continue to next mission. What's the secret sauce in order to do so? Having fun and really can't wait until new DCS update comes out so I can play 3.0, but not until I finish this "legacy" version!
  4. I think you might want to check out Viacom Pro for Voice Attack. Check out the website and YouTube videos and see if that’s what you’re looking for.
  5. I think it means it’s time for you to open up that user’s manual or hop on YouTube [emoji6]
  6. You can’t do that. You need to put the cursor over an already-existing symbol on the TAD, then hook it (TMS up short), then make it SPI (TMS up long). I can’t remember off the top of my head, but that might not work for all objects. I would put the TAD cursor over the waypoint, then make a markpoint there (TMS right short). Now switch your selector dial from Flightplan to Mark Point and you can cycle through the mark points as if they were waypoints. Once the mark point is selected, china hat aft long will point your TGP at the mark point.
  7. Question about slaving sensors to steerpoint You’ll need to know the elevation below it. Use the CDU to pull up the waypoint info and edit its elevation. Another trick I do if I don’t know the elevation is I use the TAD to place the cursor over the waypoint, then create a markpoint on top of it. It will guess the elevation of the new markpoint based on the terrain’s elevation data loaded in the CDU. Then, slave to the new markpoint.
  8. I haven’t tried it yet, but have you seen this video? You might have your answer in a few minutes after watching it.
  9. There’s a song by Paloma Faith called “Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful”. I always think of my Oculus when I hear that line.
  10. I said it in another forum post: If you’re a simmer, VR is for you. If you’re a gamer, VR is probably not for you. I was never into competitive gameplay. I’ve always just enjoyed the experience of flight. I once had a TrackIR and I sold it.
  11. Were these bugs ever fixed? I downloaded the Campaign last month. I played this mission yesterday and also never got a debriefing and will have to replay it. I wasn’t able to destroy the moving targets in time, so I don’t mind replaying it. I kind of liked flying off the instruments in the dark anyway :)
  12. Old topic, but I just played it for the first time this weekend. Once I was in the valley leading up to the target, I created an overhead mark point. I flew down the valley for 2-3 miles and created another mark point. Whenever I went above the clouds to do my bombing, I would always dive back down between the two mark points, and at the same heading as the two mark points. I ended up in the valley, clear of terrain each time. Neat trick, and a way cool VR experience. I figured it out and found the SAM on my 3rd attempt of the mission. MANPADs got me the first two times. I flew into Russian airspace every time, lol. I can avoid the terrain, which is visible, but apparently can’t avoid entering another country. This was my favorite mission so far. I think I’ll remember this one for years to come. Popping in and out of the clouds and really having to work with the terrain was just as much a challenge as destroying the targets. Very well balanced between stick-and-rudder flying and deploying weapons.
  13. I found out the hard way, but you’ll also need a nice HOTAS with lots of buttons. Whatever you can do to remove the keyboard from the experience is almost a requirement in VR. After I spent a lot of cash on a new PC and the Oculus, I thought I was done. Nope, had to go buy the Warthog HOTAS for another $400+ Lots of people also use voice commands to replace the keyboard. I would really like to, but I’m always playing at night when others are sleeping.
  14. Exactly what I’m looking for. Would be nicer with more vehicles, but this will do for now. Going to add it to the kneeboard!
  15. I'm looking for a catalog of vehicles/objects (with pictures), maybe even a short description of what they are capable of. When flying and told to attack a SA-13, or whatever it might be, I really have no idea what I should be looking for, especially if it's surrounded by lots of other vehicles then I have no idea which one to target. Where can I study up on these targets? I'm sure I'll know most of them as I gain more experience, but for now, I'm still just a noob. Thanks!
  16. Has anyone moved the kneeboard in VR to appear as if it’s actually on your knee? What settings do I change? I’m in the A-10C in case that matters (I know, no pilot body in VR, but would still like the kneeboard down low so I look down at it.) Thanks.
  17. Hmm, ok. I'm a little illiterate when it comes to that. Is open.beta something else I need to download? From DCS's main menu, I had clicked on Module Manager, then at the top I clicked on the Available DLC tab. TEW 3.0 was at the top of the list. I clicked on "buy" and followed through the store on the website to purchase and install it. How long do you suppose until the next update comes along? I can continue with the prior version for the time being. I probably won't be back in the pit for a few days anyway. Thanks again.
  18. Totally just purchased it as promised. Just tried installing it and got the message as shown in the attachment. Also got the following error log that opened up... 00000.016 --- Log file: C:\DCS World\autoupdate_log.txt 00000.000 === Log opened UTC 2019-02-01 03:50:36 00000.010 INFO : DCS_Updater/2.9.6.79 (Windows NT 10.0.17134; Win64; en-US) 00000.010 INFO : cmdline: "C:\DCS World\bin\dcs_updater.exe" --apply install BALTICDRAGON_A10C-ENEMY_WITHIN_3_campaign 00000.012 STATUS: Initializing... 00000.015 INFO : basedir: C:\DCS World 00000.016 INFO : DCS/2.5.4.26552 (x86_64; EN; WORLD,A-10C,A10C-TTQ_campaign,A10C-AAT_campaign,A10C-BFT_campaign,BALTICDRAGON_A10C-ENEMY_WITHIN_campaign) 00000.016 INFO : branch: 00000.016 STATUS: Connecting to update servers... 00001.225 INFO : Got reply from http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com 00001.686 INFO : Got reply from srv11update.digitalcombatsimulator.com 00001.689 STATUS: Verifying cached version info... 00002.080 STATUS: Preparing to install BALTICDRAGON_A10C-ENEMY_WITHIN_3_campaign ... 00002.433 ERROR: Unknown module BALTICDRAGON_A10C-ENEMY_WITHIN_3_campaign 00061.973 === Log closed. Any ideas? My account page shows that it is purchased, and when I launched the software, it automatically recognized the new campaign was purchased and prompted me to download it. I clicked ok, then got the error as mentioned above.
  19. Thanks for the reply. I think I’m spending more than $8 worth of my time just asking questions, so I’ll be sure to buy 3.0 later when I’m back at home, whether I ever play it or not. But in the meantime, a few more questions :) -Have you tested it in VR? -Any known bugs? -Are there different kneeboard items in each mission? -Sometimes my kids watch me play. Any bad language in the voiceovers, or would it be kid friendly? I have no problems kicking them out of the room (like when Game of Thrones is in season), just wanted to know beforehand. -Will my wife miss me?
  20. Just bought last month and now on mission 6. I’ve never played any other campaign so I have nothing to compare it to, but I’m loving it. So should I stop right now and restart with 3.0, or keep going? I’ve seen previews for Piercing Fury and immediately noticed it has way more voice acting and dialogue and I really like that for the immersion aspect. Will probably be my next campaign. If 3.0 has that, I’ll buy before continuing to Mission 6. I’m not too invested at this point since it’s still early. If you want my $8 now, just tell me :). Otherwise I’ll continue enjoying what I already enjoy. Just looking for an honest opinion. Thanks for contributing to this amazing experience. Words aren’t enough.
  21. Ah ok. When you mentioned it was for VR users I had imagined that it was automatically filling out the card for you as JTAC calls it out. I’m trying to be keyboard-free in VR. If it was automatic and added it to the knee board, I’m in. Appreciate the hard work and the video. Thanks.
  22. Tanks... use gun... I’ll send my least favorite wingman, lol.
  23. Do you have any video of this in action? I’m interested to know more.
  24. You actually have excellent memory. Perhaps your recall sucks :)
  25. Now that I’ve been trying this for a few days, I think I found the fix to engines not starting properly with the TMWH... Just make sure that when you start the sim, the throttles are in the idle position. After you’re in the cockpit, move them to the cutoff position, then start your engine start sequence. It doesn’t like when I load into the sim with throttles in the cutoff position. It’s been working 100% of the time since I started doing this.
