  1. Super minor: I noticed today that after dropping the bat bomb, I was not able to turn the power switch to off position with the key bind. I know it’s not required, but I was just safe-ing the cockpit later and found this. I was able to put it back to off position with mouse clicks. Cheers
  2. Latest version allows the Essex carrier to report bandits as well.
  3. I'm going to try and keep this one up for the weekend. Must check it out if you haven't in the past. Cheers! (Server name is GT's Runway)
  4. A navigation challenge. How good are you with building an SA picture in your head and then getting to the targets by working radios and listening to Morse? There are other things to do in addition to finding ships. WWII Assets Pack required. Enjoy this mission featuring two of my new scripts. Random variable fog, and the Essex’s ability to detect enemy ships. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3345680/ (Follow this thread for updates)
  5. Excellent. Thanks for the response
  6. Ah yes, I would like this too, eventually. I feel like this will be something for the “Super Essex” if they go the same route the Stennis went. I can’t remember, but I think we didn’t get the current modern carrier personnel as units in the ME until the SC came out? Either way, I’m sure it’s on the list of things to do since it promotes realism which is what this sim is all about
  7. Just FYI, that's all.
  8. I’ve been looking for a trim box. Can you share what you have? … and to the OP, yeah, constant trimming is required in warbirds. Set your throttle and RPM and try to leave it there and fly the same airspeed when cruising around. Of course, maneuvering, evading, etc, will required you to do drastic things and then you’ll have to pay attention to sideslip. Any change to airspeed, RPM, manifold, or aircraft weight (yes you are constantly burning fuel), will require new trim settings.
  9. Any insight into whether mission makers will eventually be able to set custom sector labels for the Essex in the mission editor? Perhaps on a tab like how we can set radio presets? I believe the sector letters changed quite often and were part of the preflight briefings? Could add some realism. Otherwise I’m good with leathornucks
  10. I remember listening to the Fighter Pilot Podcast where a Corsair owner was interviewed and said that Vought eventually replaced the struts with oleo struts and then it was like landing on marshmallows, and it became difficult to bounce a Corsair. Have a listen. Great episode!
  11. I definitely noticed some changes as well. Love this bird. I love flying it with the canopy open when just cruising around the open sea looking for ships. Sounds great and it’s cool (especially in VR) when you stick your head out the window how everything suddenly gets really loud
  12. What type of feedback are you looking for? There are indicators in the cockpit that show gear position.
  13. There’s already a long thread on this in the bugs section.
  14. I’ve had this Elite Force model hanging above my PC for many years. I love the yellow cowl ring and prop tips. I have no clue about the historical accuracy of this livery, but noticed that in DCS it is only available on the mk.IV variant. If this one was accurate, I’d love to see it for the US variant in DCS . I’m thinking perhaps this is not an accurate livery, but I have no clue and would love to know more about it if it is. If anyone knows, let me know
  15. Just an FYI in case you weren’t aware. Text is overlapping when viewed on mobile (iPhone 14 in my case). That is all.
  16. I have to ask the obvious question: Is your binding inverted? Does the virtual lever move in same direction as your hardware lever? You might want to post a track file for further troubleshooting.
  17. Can’t comment on the landing gear since I have that bound to a physical lever, but regarding the mixture, I have no clue how you can even get your engine to run at all while the mixture is in the cutoff position. Moving to cutoff is how you shut down after landing. Maybe you have it backwards? Full forward is auto-rich and full aft is cutoff.
  18. I also reported the same thing in the Bugs section around the same time, haha. Link below. Glad to see I wasn't the only one. I did find a very specific way to get it to work in MP. See the thread if interested.
  19. Were you leaning the mixture or running full rich? Here's an excerpt from Wikipedia... "In a reciprocating engine, the use of water injection, also called anti-detonation injection or ADI, is used to prevent engine knocking also known as "detonation".[3] Commonly found on large radial engines with pressure carburetors, it is a mixture of water and alcohol injected into the carburetor at high power settings. When using a rich mixture, the engine runs cooler, but cannot reach maximum power, and a leaner mixture means detonation is likely. With the use of ADI, the injected water and alcohol (which is mixed with the water to prevent it from becoming ice) absorbs the excess heat to prevent detonation while still allowing for a leaner and more powerful mixture.[3] Notable engine with water fuel injection: BMW 801, Daimler-Benz DB 605, Junkers Jumo 213, Pratt & Whitney Double Wasp. "
  20. Has your software released an update (to include the Corsair) ever since the Corsair was released?
  21. Thanks for sharing! What all is in this campaign? Does this have voiceovers and all, or is it just missions with briefings typed out, and the rest is quiet in the headset?

    FUEL SELECTOR

Now I’m curious. How was the procedure in real life regarding switching tanks when the fuel gage only shows main quantity? Did the pilots start sipping from wing tanks (or external tanks) and use timers to keep track of quantities, or did they just wait until hearing the engine starting to choke before switching tanks?
  23. I made a post in another thread about it not working properly in MP. Perhaps that is your case? If not, then it has been working great for me. Doesn’t work with all airfields yet. Also, it works for me with only the battery on, AAR-2 switch on, and the switch set to “voice”. You don’t need the manual knobs or remotes. Setting it to “voice” is a known bug. Expect it to change to “CW” in the future.
  24. Let’s not forget… the module as is… is really fun to fly whether or not it’s missing a few knots. My fav warbird as it currently stands, and will only get better Adding warbird carrier ops with working homing signal, and the bat bomb, are a great addition to the sim. 13ft props to Mag3.
  25. Me too Quick math for the Corsair prop means the blade tip would be traveling just a tiny bit fast, about 4,600 mph!
