  1. Did you have to take anything else out, like triggers or anything? I dont force any settings, and I have tried with various maps. Stock A10c maps seem to be best, but even then the app crashes every hour. Also, I'm guessing that being on the ED team you're miles more gen'd up on DCS than I am. So you probably have close to the optimum settings for this? What I need to learn is how to set a server up how you would do it, but I just don't have time to learn how to do that, then test it, and play it, over and over until they release a patch and fix it anyway.
  2. I'll back up what Viper says. The new 7570 patch has made DCS World into DCS Hell for multiplayer (careful, else I'll upset the DCS sychophants). I had a MP map and it would not allow any connections from client machines. Then I followed the advice on the following post... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=98319. It looked promising after taking the tankers + AWACS out, but all that did was cause a delayed server crash after about an hour. There are some other bits in there you can try in that thread, but it depends how desperate you are to play. Personally I don't believe you should have to fix software yourself, you wouldn't do it for a new car! As much as I love DCS World, I'm staying off it until it's fixed, because I don't want to lose my interest, like some of my mates who already have done. ED are being bolshy in keeping it schtum about when a new update is going to get released, in fairness FC3 is beta (A10c isn't :mad:). Don't worry, I'M SURE YOU ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING WRONG!!!
  3. Then if ED are behind they, can give us further extensions to their expected time targets, with or without explanation. When kept informed I am a happy customer. The question wan't to you, it was to wags. That's nice, but I expect you didn't get your joystick from ED. It's hardly personal if the question is on a forum. I have already posted on this thread, page 6. I have taken the advice and removed the tankers and awacs. My map now runs, but crashes after an hour. This is a problem after 7570.
  4. I would have to disagree with you there. It depends on how literally you take things. To say that it will be ready in a about a month to me implies that it could be ready anytime in that period or a few days after. If I said to a mate that we will go for beer next month, he wouldn't be miffed because we hadn't done so on the 1st. Anyway I would like that answer from wags. Just because you are happy to simply just wait does not mean other people have to be.
  5. ED know what needs recoding. They're a professional outfit and I assume there is a lead developer that sets out what needs to be done asks for updates on where the work is up to. As a developer I know a specific date is unreasonable, but a time scale is not. I expect this of Atari not ED.
  6. Thanks for your responce Wags. For me it's not about patience. There's nothing I can do to resolve this so I have to wait. I'm more interested in the multiplayer aspect than anything, and after my wingman and I have jointly spent $240 on the various add ons it's more about complete disappointment. Can I have a time scale on the next update, and assurance that your efforts are on resolution than release of a new beta module. Will the multiplayer code be fixed this side if Christmas? regards Andy
  7. I was hosting a map yesterday evening. I have 7570 build. I tried my custom map, and only one friend could connect, but it took him about 10 attempts, my other friend kept getting booted back to the lobby. Then I loaded a slightly edited stock map (with a couple of F15's and a MIG29 I had previously added for my mate with FC3) which worked fine, and all could connect. This was without rebooting, re-installing, or even restarting the MP DCS application. I have not examined the elements of the stock map, but the custom map I put together has some triggers to activate certain SAMs. I can only assume it is must be being caused by a particular unit type being placed on the map, or by a trigger I have added. I had added dynamic weather to the custom map, but removed this when I started noticing problems. I do not enforce anything in the custom map. Hope this info helps someone. Cheers Andy
  8. I have managed to get the scenario to work. What I am going to do with the MP map is set up long range air defences, but limit the range at which they fire. This will hopefully weed out all the new pilots who want to base rape. If any one is good enough to base rape through the amount of SAMs I intend to put at each airfield then fair play to them, I might even learn a thing or two watching them. I will also make the radar and command units invincible. This guy the other night was cool enough to take out them before attacking the airfield!!! I will have to come up with something to prevent teamkills. I was hoping there would be 'weapon launch', 'radar lock' or 'gun trigger press' events, then I could set a smaller trigger at the airfield to detect team kills, but disabling itself when enemy units are in the anti spawn rape trigger zone. Any thoughts anyone?
  9. Thanks for testing that. Can I ask, did the Shilka stop firing when it left the trigger zone? I had my ZSU set to excellent, and I was using a Huey at 200m alt, 40knts. Trigger was 300m radius around ZSU. The only thing I can think of why it might not have worked for me is that because the Huey start point is already in the ZSU radar range. I will try some more tests to night. Cheers Andy
  10. Before I you read this, please understand this is the firsdt time I have added in game triggers, and can find little documentation on their implementation. I have tried to do something similar to Grimes’ suggestion, but rather than explode the unit, I want to activate the SAM site, and deactivate when no units are in the zone, with the unit remaining visible. - Trigger zone created called “No fly zone”. - Single ZSU added. - Added the continuous condition; if part of blue coalition in “No fly zone” then ZSU AI is on. - Added the continuous condition; if all of blue coalition out of “No fly zone” the ZSU AI is off. - Blue heli configured to fly through the “No fly zone”. The ZSUs I assumed would shoot at the heli when the condition was met, but it does not happen. The ZSU remains dormant. I think my logic is sound, but poorly implemented!!! Can anyone help?

  12. I have stopped PW protecting my MP server, mainly because I want the variety of different players with different skills. I have not gone for a realistic approach for 2 reasons, first I don't want to, and second it's my server and I don't have to. I also have mustangs integrated in my mission, not that anyone has used them yet. I do think a lot of people don't realise that most of these servers are hosted on home PCs, and are not affiliated with ED at all, and it annoys me when I get comments like "It will be better with labels off", or "the f10 view is sooo lame". It's my server, I added the mission parameters, and I'll play it how I LIKE IT. I've only run the server for a few nights, and have had to ask for info on SAM, and kicking people. (aaa - war.miz) I can totally see why admins PW protect their server. Cheers Andy
  13. Personally, while I am learning the systems I don't mind newer vPilots on my server, it's just now and then, that you get a knob-head. When I want to study a specific system I create a specific mission for that purpose, and I PW protect it. I do like to give people a fighting chance, and if someone can get through 20 SAM sites they can spawn rape as much as they like, so I'm going to try using the SAM sites you have suggested, if that fails I will try the trigger. I want to keep my flight time to the bullseye short, so will continue to use those airfields, but I understand your comment, and have it in mind to make future missions with a longer flight plan.   14. Hi, I want to put some SAM sites at the airfields on my MP map. I originally had Patriots at blue Gudata and SA10 at red Soshi, but these were far too effective, and were causing players to leave my server. I like the battle to be between these two airfields as they are nice and close to each other, allowing for a short hop to the ground battle. I have KA50 and A10C, which are what I am practicing. I need the SAMs to stop people from spawn raping. The mobile SAM units seem to be ineffective against fast movers. Can someone recommend red and blue, air defences to cover a radius of approx 15miles from each base. Cheers Andy
  15. I don't have to extra hardware to run a dedicated server. How is servman when using my machine in a server/client role? I presume I am going to have to switch between aps to use this? Cheers Andy

  18. My short cut points to "D:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS_updater.exe" update. You need to include all the text including quotes, and the update switch at the end.

  20. I'm in now, but it was a pain in the neck. Basic ly you have to go into the map you want to play in the mission editor, and you can check the allow (can't remmeber the exact dialog, about half way down on the unit options) button on each unit. I did it for one map but I am guessing I will have to undo it all when they apply the fix to the bug just mentioned. Cheers Andy
  21. Hi all, I have been hosting a MP sever for DCS World. Mostly for private co-op with a mate, while we try and work out all the systems in A10c. I also have CA and KA-50 installed and created a map map based on a stock one, to include the KA-50 and SU25T. Using DCS World 1.2.1 we managed a good connection, and things were pretty stable. Since I let 1.2.2 install itself, my mates PC keeps crashing. If we join another open server not hosted locally to either of us, everything works fine. I am guessing it is bugging out because of my machine erroring somehow while hosting. KA-50 runs pretty bad now. I have tried using the repair DCS. I don't want to waste an activation on each to reinstall anew. Any suggestions? Spec's in sig. Cheers Andy

  24. Hi, I just auto updated to DCS World v1.2.2. I started a MP server. It appear I can't jump into units anymore, yet I can still opt to be Game Master, Ground contoller, or JTAC, I have tried all. I have purchased DCS:CA, BS2, and A10c. I have found this in both my own map which I added bits to MP-US Battalion Day Advance - Maykop, and the stock version of the same. All functionality with CA was working about 2 nights ago, so I guess v1.2.1. Is this a bug, or am I uaware of a new game feature? Regards Andy
