anyone has any info on that problem ? its still happening, not just with lights, but also sea textures flickers at some times of the day with certains light conditions/angles.

i noticed that while in TWS mode, if i have to hurry and switch to vertical acquisition mode , it doesnt work. i have to push the button on MFD to return radar in RWS mode, then i can use vertical mode again. boresight acquisition mode seem to work, so i suppose its a bug ? a way of fast switch vertical mode without have to go down and look DDI and press a button there is much needed !

eh.. i told many times in another topic, then was clear to me ED prefer to keep things as they are, probably for gameplay reasons, so harpoons are only good against undefended ships, that actually make no sense at all, considering you can take undefended ships with any kind of weapon...and just for the record harpoons even if they hit...they do little damage, especially compared to other weapons. even zuni rockets are way better to kill ships. another really sad ED choice for me.

well, its possible, just not with AGM84d, and the sad part is that just because HARPOONs are set to fly at an higher height than they should. if they would fly at 15 feet, they probably will hit over 50% without being destroyed. really sad ED gameplay choice on that. here a video of how kill ships:

honestly, i dont know personally the M61 but i suppose for coherence that aircrafts mounting same cannon should have same dispersion. about F18 radar gun sight lead...its waaay off. i've been get used to it and anticipate it ..but seems strange that older planes like F14 have perfect lead and newer F18 have not. something seems wrong. -
thanks guys for your help. i think its some kind of Language barrier… here is a short video: i can easily sweep the wing to a desired angle using the Yellow lever, but i cant with the Keys (wing seep forwar / wing sweep aft)! my wish is to have Keys do that (instead of picking the Yellow handle with the mouse and move it) so i can do it without having to look into the cockpit. sorry if i'm not clear, i'm trying my best ! thanks!

hm… no, seems i wasnt clear again. sorry i'm trying my best to explain myself, but english not my native Language, maybe its that the problem. i try reformulate my simple question: i binded on my keyboard "Z" key for wing sweep forward and "X" key for wing sweep aft. i press them but nothing changes. i already tried: -placing wing lever (the Yellow one) in manual mode -palcing wing lever (the Yellow one) in auto mode -placing the wing lever cover open and closed. -resetting switch -different aircraft speeds pressing Z and/or X never changed wing position. the question itself: is it possible (and how) manually control the sweep of the wings WITHOUT looking down in the cockpit and using the Yellow lever with the mouse ? thanks !

ahh maybe i got it wrong then. lets say i want to manually control the wing sweep in a dogfight (so not being ablo to look down into the cockpit), what should i do to use 2 buttons for sweep forward and backward? thanks!

hello, i tried everything that comes to my mind, but i was not able to make the following Keys work: "wing sweep aft" , "wing sweep forward" and "wing sweep auto". i binded them to keyboard Keys, but they seems to do nothing both on auto and manual mode. for people like me that use hatswitch to look around is already an immense pain, but have to look down everytime i wish to adjust my wing sweep is really not possible in dogfight! i wish the key were working (i suppose just on manual mode), would be really helpful !

i dont have track IR or VR set, so i'm using the joystick hatswitch. i noticed in the F14 that i can rotate the head to to see the back of the plane, while in F18 i cant. now… i know it might be not 100% realistic, but for poor people like me its a huge difference to just have to push hatswitch up to see the back of the plane, instead have to push it up, then right OR left and if the target is in the other side have to move it again to search for it ! would really be a great help have the same head rotation we have on F14. thanks

hello, i noticed that if i jettison the canopy, often (lets say 50% of the times) the 3D model of the canopy stays there from inside view, while from external view its not there, the sounds and all the rest seems correct.

my dedicated server keeps disappearing too. i checked ports on my side, all seems fine. if i do a server NOT dedicated (so from my own gaming PC) it always show up. mah.

my friend (hes italian like me but dont know english, so i'm writing for him) since a week ago started to have this problem. he cant play anymore in multiplayer. hes on openbeta, he tried repair, cleanup and the error still happens. any solution ? thanks -
yep, thats true, it helps mitigate the problem, but still i see no reason for not doing a simple direct line to target.

yep, agree, but its the same line of nosense i found with harpoon (for other reasons). common sense: 1) its possible make a missile go just straight to target without losing altitude. 2) a missile that go straight to target has 99% chance of not hit ground or obstacles, because simply it keeps LOS from the launch point to the impact, so if target is not moving or new obstacles are not suddenly placed in between, the course path will be clear. 3) SEAD is always dangerous, and for many reasons sometimes may be safer go low, popup , launch and go down again. now this is 100% impossible. missile will always hit the ground for no actual realistic reason. like for harpoons, thats not my life reason so i simply will move on, but finding this topic, i feel that is right to write this.

...and seems there is no drag modeled for them, so no "speed bump" … because you're already going as you have no pylons at all !
