Yes, I'm full admin. No anti virus installed I tried a repair (of 2.5.4 since the 2.5.5 failed) and then tried the update again and it failed just the same! I've downloaded the whole thing three times now, so I'm just going to delete everything from my disk and start all over! Lame!!!

I tried setting all permissions to full for this folder/file, no change. I even added EVERYONE and it still wouldn't delete the file. I had to delete it manually and then it moved to the next. After a bunch of these I finally gave up and am running a full repair, bummer!

Are you having the whole game lock up or just slow frame rates? In our case the whole game crashes.

I've never installed any mods before, so I don't know if I'm just screwing something up or they're just not working because of incompatibility. Does this mod work for anyone? "Virtual Air Racing Pylons 2019 Mod" https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3196986/ I copied the files to Saved Games\DCS\Mods folder, and a few combinations, even tried a mod installer app, which crashed &^$%#

I play MP with a buddy of mine, just me and him, and when I load up two F-5E's with four rocket pods and we both start firing our games lock up completely with in 5-10min. We tested this on the Nevada and Caucasus maps. It is 100% repeatable for us. In each instance I'm running the server from my side and he is a client. Some times his DCS would freeze up until End Task'd and sometimes mine would freeze the same. If we switch armament or planes all is well. Any ideas?

My friend and I do multiplayer together in the F-5 and all has been well for a long time. But this week I added rocket pods to our Tigers and now after about 5-10min DCS locks up for one of us, mostly him as the non-server connection but at least once I locked up too. If we use different planes or take off the rocket pods there are no lockups. We tested in Nevada and Caucasus, same results. Is this a known bug? We can reproduce it easily.

Yup, this solved all my tracking issues with O+ when I first got it months ago. The more light the better.

I converted my Cougar with FSSB 3 and the throttle with TUSB in the recent past. I have to say the transition took quite a while and I hated it at first. Now that I'm used to it it's pretty good. However, after flying for a while my arm can get pretty tired from holding stick forces, even at minimum force sensitivity. I have strong arms from windsurfing and paddleboarding in surf, but holding a constant 4-5lbs minimum for hours gets pretty straining, esp in any kind of heavy maneuvering, like dogfighting. The sensitivity and feel can't be beat though. It's a pretty heavy spend, I would think about it carefully unless you have money to burn. If anything else in your system is not enthusiast level, probably better off upgrading everything else first before considering this.

Haven't flown the Viper since Falcon AT/3.0, going to be a great reunion! I'm IN sight unseen! Cougar with FSSB 3 ready to roll. Popcorn is warming up for the trailer...

Maybe unrelated to the cause of the issue in this thread, but I have to turn on bright lights in my room or 6dof doesn't work or isn't stable. I think the more light the cameras have the better with respect to 6dof functioning. Just mentioning in case that could be a co-cause of the problem.

Worse VR perfomrnace since recent SteamVR and Win10 Updates?
crazyave replied to Nealius's topic in Virtual Reality
I have an Odyssey+ as well... After updating Windows 10, DCS, SteamVR and to latest Nvidia drivers (2080tI) all at once I noticed my visuals went to crap and frame rates too. To get the visuals back I had to set SteamVR to 150% SS, up from 100%. To get rid of the low frame rates, if I stare at the sky when I first start a session, to get 45fps+ for about 20-30sec then try looking around the frame rates usually come back up to 30-60fps range (normal, before updates, maybe even a slight improvement?). Sometimes I have to stare at the sky longer or try multiple times. I had this issue to a lesser extent before the updates too, but not nearly as drastic. -
Hardware related error: Toe brakes not working
crazyave replied to effte's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I just had this issue with a brand new set of pedals. I used the registry trick above (it just deletes the pedal settings windows has stored) and it worked! Prior to fixing the problem the toe brake axis would show a jump from 0-50% instantly with just a slight toe brake movement and then move smoothly from 50-100% for the other 99% of the toe brake travel, and the same in reverse. -
rel4y, Thanks for the info. I was going to get the TUSBA from realsimulator since I'm already buying the FSSB, however, I'm not sure their adapter has the tricks needed to use a hall sensor for when the pot in mine dies. However, on the realsimulator adapter they show a lot of options available for controls: Can you send a graphic over of what yours looks like in this same screen?
-
Are you using the hall effect sensor from vipergear and the TUSBA from realsimulator.com? or is TUSBA a generic name for any adapter that converts the throttle to USB standalone? Sorry, I've been away from this stuff for a while, I'm not up on the names!

We can't seem to get the shipping worked out. Can you tell me about what the shipping costs were for you to ship anywhere in the US? Right now it's sounding like it's going to be like 25-30% of the cost of the purchase (500 euro) to ship it to the US, can that be right? Appreciate any experience you've had with this! Trying to get an FSSB over here!

Which hall sensor setup for the throttle works with TUSBA(from realsimulator) ? My pot is still working but I'd rather be prepared!

I watched the install video for the R3 and it replaces the entire base, vs the R2, which integrates with the existing electronics of the cougar. It seems like I'd just need to convert the throttle to USB using the TUSBA adapter that realsimulator also sells, then I can use the standalone R3 base with the cougar grip. Sound right? I have yet to get a response from realsimulator, are they still in business? Can you still use Foxy or TARGET with the R3 base? Do you have to switch to using DX key file assignment? Have you had any complications with using two separate USB device for HOTAS? edit: ok, I see that if you take out the Thrustmaster control board and use the TUBSA or standalone stick base circuit board from realsimulator you will loose the Thrustmaster programming options. Has anyone used it this way and did you find it too limiting? ave-

I busted the metal gimbal in my Cougar. Wondering which of the following I should do: Replace gimbals with plastic 3D printed ones (https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=195464) FSSB R2 (http://www.realsimulator.com/html/fssb.html) Ditch the Cougar and go Warthog Some other option I'm not aware of...? FSSB is the limit for spending. What would you do?
